Who are the 4 people that disliked this video??!! How can you hate on something so incredible, beautiful and from God above? This song is why so many of us are alive today!
In many ways you gotta thank JAY-Z & KANYE for introducing the young generation to "OTIS". We might generate new OTIS REDDING fans. Also in retrospect OTIS still wins with another hit!!
@1998disco72 Well regardless of talent or not you have to face the fact that these songs will never hit the radios / televisions again unless it is through sampling. I have to admit I got here through Jay-Z and I have found that I want to hear more Otis. You would hear these old hit songs from your parents radios when you were kids but you would never know the artist or respect them until you are older.
@1998disco72 Oh wow, I was at least giving them a "portion" of credit for sampling an OTIS REDDING hit, but I guess some will take it as a slap in the place instead of a compliment to OTIS' legacy. It's all good though, we have our right to our opinion.
How can you not love this?! That's the best man's voice ever! He can only be compared to Luther Vandross singing "House is not a home" at the NAACP Image Awards, but damn, Otis killing him with his soul! And what for those 4 haters... learn REAL music, motherfuckers, how about that?!
He has such an amazing voice, and the emotion is unmatched, in any generation. As much as everybody here hates on Kanye and Jay-Z, they are the artists that introduced me to Otis Redding through their song, so I thank them for that. He's amazing.
@StrugglingFollower you must have been sleeping if it took kanye and Jay-Z to introduce you to the music of otis redding .you need to broaden your music more,it,s a whole new world just waiting to be discovered.
In my point of view, I think what kanye and jz did was introduce Otis redding to this generation bcause if it wasnt for the song they did I would never hear about this great singer, so I dnt get why ppl just keeping talking shit about them, if you dnt have anything good to say just stfu and watch the video
ay z and kanye did bring me here in a way because ive always been a big fan of this song but its been i while since ive heard it and when i heard otis it reminded me of how much i love this song

jay z and kanye really didn't jack the song up. it sounds alright. but where i'm from they don't play the original on the radio at all and i'm 33 daddy was old mama was old and he was her favorite.( daddy was bb king) so Otis has been in my life all life and it don't seem to get any better. I don't care who tries, but Otis does something to your soul. He was only 26 when he died and all that was marvelous. Look at our 26 year olds today what do they have to say?
One of the most beautiful compositions ever assembled. Otis Redding was a once in a lifetime talent. I'm not opposed to young artists like Kanye and Jay-Z sampling his material, because it opens a gate for younger generations to delve into this soulful music. "Otis" doesn't come close to a paramount performance such as this, but it does keep a terrific groove, and it is refreshing hearing Redding's soulful voice in a hip-hop record. However, the original, is a masterpiece. R.I.P.
@wwhough Stop making a fool of yourself. I will start by saying I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE kanye west and Jay-Z fan. I know all of their songs and I am especially looking forward to seeing them perform at Izod Center during their Throne tour.
But anyway, Otis Redding is a legend to rock music. I'll be honest, I didn't know about this song until Ye and Hova sampled it, but I still believe it's a masterpiece, and as a result, I am really now into Otis Redding.
