Hi love the cover man :) can you tell me if the problem with my bass drum is that the heads are 4 years old because its just too high pitched btw it has a lot of padding in it :)
Really awsome job!!!!!!!! Your quite a good drummer :D Little tip from drummer 2 drummer run the cord from the headphones down your back it wont get in the way this way :D I've had the issue b4 but yeah good job keep it up :D
@kikmidog Thank you :) Yeah I got some itchy headphone wires, But mainly because I get inflamed skin when I sweat, so it irritates my skin. Haha! yes I'm whining! naah but yeah I started doing that, just have to get used to the feeling.
Seriously good cover. Excellent drum sound, along with great tuning (of course). Great set up.
Only critique i'd have consists two small things, and it's a cover so you're granted liberties. But it would have been nice to hear you 1) nail the ride part on the chorus, and 2) do the 16th to 32nd transition on the post drum solo bridge thing.
Yes I couldn't agree with you more.. at the time I made the cover there was only one other dude who had made a cover I believe, and there wasn't many live videoes where you could see what Taylor was doing in the chorus, so I pretty much just guessed how to play that part. And I came pretty close, but yeah.. I got parts on my cover that are better than others in here, and they got parts that are better than mine. Nobody is perfect :b thanks.
By far the best cover on youtube. And honestly, the most simple drum kit too. I love it. You don't need a 10K drum kit to be a pro. You need to be able to feel the music the way this guy does. Just smashing the drums not afraid to screw up. I'm very impressed. I'd pick you to play in my band over other guys who pussyfoot around the drums like some kind of 18th century fild drum British army player.
During the guitar solo there is a crash you miss every 2 bars. Other than that. It's epicly perfect. Even that little high hit thing during a verse Taylor does you get bang on. It's a 1 time thing and you noticed it and made sure to include it. Very pro.
@Cr8zyCanuck Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment! sorry for the late answer, it's not everyday I feel like answering comments.. but I do read them, and always try to answer comments with meaning in them :)
eh pretty good man. you could use some work with the solo as it was not correct and the fills and choruses were not as taylor plays them. but its all good! overall nice job

very talented drummer. You have a lot of potential to develop to play more fusion and jazz. Your arms will calm down as you develop your wrists. That is of course if you want to play like a Vinnie or Horacio Hernandez....All the best
I know what madfappin is talking about with the elbows/arms...it just looks like youre "muscle-ing" through the track and youre neck is stiff and all. You're good...don't get me wrong, but I bet you get tired as hell just playing one song. Maybe play from the wrists a bit more and not the shoulders? Try to compare to Nate Brown (onlinedrummer) when he covers Everlong. Nate looks completely loose and like he can play the song 10x through without being tired.
Gotta double check that ride part during the chorus, man. There are more doubles than you are playing. Small detail...but otherwise you did an awesome job!

@hellHoUnd791 I hate the term "ghost notes" there is no such thing. If you continue to play music after you've died THEN you will be playing "ghost notes."
Very well done! I liked everything about your post from the way you're hitting the cymbals to how your drums are tuned. You made it look easy as great players do!
Really good sounds! I'm also thinking about buying this same micset, Audix DP7. How do you like it? Easy to get good sounds out of them? Also what hihat and ride cymbal you're using? Is it K Custom dark ride 22"? Rock on!
@achmedda3rd Thank you! Hehe good question! without the drums. Hhhmm let me calculate :b 2 sec.....I can see you live in GB.. 1.265,76 pounds, to be exact :b yeah.. took me some time to save up. But I am sure you can get something a bit cheaper that sounds almost as good :) it was the microphones that costed me a lot.
dude i must say as a drummer to another drummer ROCK ON DUDE and dont worry bout the arm thing play a way that is nice and relaxing to u and it wont matter what u look like on a stage the crowds will love u still for keeping that beat and rhythm now ill hav 2 watch this a few more times so i can do this for a gig here if u dont mind cause it will help me play it 2 thx again dude and keep drumming
Mate, love the cover. I have one TINY criticism about your technique though, which is purely an aesthetic thing and in no way supposed to be negative.. but why are your arms flapped out like that? It just looks a bit strange is all. Keep up the top notch work!
@madfappin LOL!! what do you mean? my arms flapping? the only thing I see flapping out is my fingers, when I play the ride cymbal.Or do you mean I move my arms too much?
@Ramul Well, to be more specific, your elbows are kind of.. "out" from your sides a bit... as in, there's a decent gap between the inside of your elbow and your torso. Anyway, it's not like it matters, I wasn't sure if you were doing it for theatrics or if it was just how you play. Also, don't stress on the fingers flicking out when you play the ride, I think it's kind of necessary when you're playing that fast.
@madfappin HAHA!! I get it now! LOL! haven't thought of it really, but I can see what you mean. I don't think it matters at all, playing wise, but as you said visually I kinda look like a bird flapping it's wings, if you will :b
Yeah flicking the fingers is pretty normal when playing lots of unaccented notes between the accented notes :)
@madfappin I learned at an early age your elbows control so much. alot is in the wrists and fingers but alot is in the elbows. When drumming if you watch the really good ones, when they are relaxed you there elbows low just keeping the tune, but when they are wailing those things flare out to give the fastest and smoothest movement. i know when i play, if i dont get them up and out away from my body, i really cant play at the speed/technique i want.
@williamaulbach A perfectly sound theory actually. I know some people that would disagree with you until they were blue in the face but I can see your logic. I guess that when you're playing fast and hard, free-flowing movement would easily encompass your arms being "out" from your body. Thanks for replying :)
@imgoinhungry Thank you :) nope I don't, we don't really have marching bands in Greenland, there is one, only one I believe, and it's just not my cup of tea. I want to be Rocking out to ROCK man! not that stuff hehe.. but I
