I used to just do that, back when I was living at home and had good equipment. I find now that I use a headphone microphone for most of my recordings they sound extremely dull.

This is probably your best solo cover, the background vocals fit perfectly in the atmosphere of the song !

If you keep on covering Evanescence you should try Breathe No More, which has a wonderful melody as well.
