@TheEpicImpaler Dub is an evoloution of reggae. Dub is mixed more, using effects. Reggae is just like raw stuff, just using instruments. Something like that. :)
that jimmy guy who said the beatles used 4 tracks at the start then had 16 tracks for peppers is very wrong,,they had 2 tracks the 1st 2 lp"s,,then 4 track,,only getting a go on 8 track 1968+ as allthough usa had 8 tacks since 1957 uk didant untill 68 and that was decca,,(sickening to know greats like ray charles used 8 tracks had a 50% deal, owned his own songs ect ect) while the uk never had till after the 60"s really (beatles got 14% if wrote the song or half, and then were taxed 95% on it

The Beatles were really popular a long time ago, that's about it. They didn't actually do anything new musically. They simply knew how to put together a harmony and a rythem.
Wow, it's not Dub Side Of The Moon, but the Easy Star All Star's are amazing... They managed to tackle, not a beatles song, but the entire Sgt. Pepper album, and they covered it damn well.
I'm down wit da dub man... Oh, and @ZestyMR dude, how can you crituque The Beatles anyway? lol they were so damned amazing... Well, except Ringo... Horrid writer lol Paul is probabl;y my favorite writer out of the band
"drag a comb across my hair" it is actually. I think they should have changed the lyrics in the title track as well "Sgt peppers lonely hearts dub band" instead of "club band"

just listened to all 13 tracks, this one works brilliantly, as for the other 12 well not up to much tbh. Loved radiodread but this album falls way short of that standard. a day in the life awesome - rest of album isn't good enough to be called mediocre sadly.
I wonder if they put the high pitch tone at the end if this track like in the original Beatles version. The original day in life had a high pitch tone that couldn't be heard by human but dogs could hear it.
Agreed but anyone who says the beatles are overrated or didn't do anything for music don;t understand the songwriting power they had, That said I;m into to so much other music i cant say the beatles are the only band. Truth is there is alot of great music in the world
Oh definitely, if you were responding to someone saying they are overrated then of course I disagree also. I think what the Beatles really did was open a lot of doors to musicians to try new things that people weren't trying yet. Ringo and John were probably both somewhat subpar musicians, yet John is my favorite simply because I liked how experimental he was, and the messages he conveyed. (By subpar, I mean that he wasn't really the best guitarist out there - not that he was bad.)
Yeh when they started John could barely play but played some interesting chords cos he learnt to play banjo first. Also noone can forget The Beatles success and money (well the record companies money) allowed George Martin to rethink recording and made leaps and bounds of progress going from 4 track in the early 60's to (overly complex in the way it was achieved) 16 track recording on SGT Peppers and even looping (the extremely hard way using tape and scissors.
@JimijaymesGuitarist i have to put in my two cents here. While the Beatles cultural and musical influence cant be ignored, i do feel that their status as the unopposed gods of rock music has not only been horrible exploited by record company's(ie. the re releases and rockband), but has also made it so if someone has a legitimate critique of their music that person is automatically dismissed as retarded.
I think that is ssometimes true but I know a few people who don't like the beatles. Me personally well I understand if someone doesn't like their music or think they are overrated but noone can deny they at least had some influence on popular culture especially music.
Some Beatles fan you are. If you think that being played by another band, or being played in a different style, can ruin some of the best music and lyrics written in the history of mankind, you have no ability to actually LISTEN to music.

Love the outer groove at the end, a nice take-off of the original ending to "Sgt. Pepper". All that's missing is the dog whistle.
