  • This is a wonderful video and I thoroughly support what you say. However, I am bothered by the fact that we're all banging on about how we can all make a difference while the huge corporates continue to light up the skies with their neon advertising in most major cities in the world. Surely until they begin to the take the issue seriously there is little hope for our planet?

  • amen.

  • Extraordinary video ... Message is clear and loud, easy to bring into practice.

  • @bharadrm

Thanks and thanks for watching it btw.

  • Vinyl 2010 has launched a multimedia competition as part of its Sustainable Thinking Platform and we think this is a cool video that could be posted there. Registration is free and we have more than 2,000 euros in prizes!

    Check it out at sustainablethinking.eu

  • The stills were great! I was reading all the panels, timely message.

The volume got loud half way thru.

Most videos have somewhat poor sound quality.

I leave the volume up on my speakers.

  • You people take this way too far.... Global warming is a natural cycle in the worlds history. I don't have a problem with your video but you should focus on the real problemm which is sustainable agriculture.

  • At Enviu we believe strongly in this message and we are about Innovating towards a sustainable future.

Take a look at our projects and start contributing. Check our videos on our channel and visit our homepage for sustainability in a working business environment.

  • I'd like to, at least, introduce a term into this discussion. Forget ecofascism. Forget ecocapitalism. Forget deep ecology. In my view, only within the parameters of a classless democratic society of freely associated producers can we assure that there is a possibility of overcoming the barriers that block the flourishing of both a humanly liberated and an ecologically sustainable society.

  • I'd certainly like to see that happen, thanks LZ!

  • Man, the business community would hate you. I don't think the government will like you either, they don't want people to grow their own, had this been the case, those people would be independent of all the world. Actually, people have been sued in the past for doing so on this basis.

  • doing. Thanks to what has turned out to be expensive production of biofuels, an alternative to resource that is not dying out - there is far more than plenty for the next 200 years(that is greatly longer than time needed to move toward hydrogen, HHO, or other non-petrol based fuels) is causing the collapse of food markets and massive starvation, not over population. We can continue to build upward, and we can create gardens from these habitats to enrich higher altitudes with oxygen.

  • "or die!"? No, the proper terminology is "then die."

  • I like your message. I like the way it's presented. Maybe, someday, if enough people subscribe to it, it will make a difference for our planet. But to be honest, I've been hearing these suggestions for decades, our planet is resilient enough to still be a pretty wonderful place to reside, and everybody, even those who change, end up dead.

  • I agree in theory, but I if all planetary life, including human life, continues and grows more resilient and wiser, isn't that a kind of survival for all of us?

  • Sure. But the message is "change or die". They might very well mean in a broader sense, civilization, Earth, etc. But the tactic used is to scare. It's an ultimatum. I'm a Biologist by education. I'm all about life and living well and preserving what we can.

And I firmly believe that "change is good". But, when I read "or die" I automatically go into "what a crock" mode. Try to stop me from dying. I sure hope it isn't any time soon. but I'll take that bet.

  • docea I kinda of disagree with you. I'm an exsmoker. Physicians told me the same thing, I don't look at it as a scare tactic. I look at as a warning of fact. So you can be stubborn and take the Drs' advice to quit as ultimatium or call it a "crock' or you can admitt your Dr is right and then make your choice.

  • You're spot on...

The honey bee, is one of our local and most profound indicators of things to come, if we don't alter our desire to "alter" everything away from it's natural state. We will profoundly test our own adaptability... the earth can easily be rid of us. We are far more delicate than most people take time to realize.

  • Humanity as we know it has been around only for a very short period of time, relatively speaking and we are definitely not off to a good start!

  • one vital element for something to be sustainable that we are not mentioning (ever, or i have yet to hear it said explicitly) is that WE NEED ONE ANOTHER. we need the support of our communities our friends our families. this is not a cavalier or individuals game... not a game at all. though humor is needed. the earth is a self-sustaining entity because all it's constituent parts act together unlike our culture that is at cross purposes and the enemy of all life (humans and all).

  • Excellent point...Agreed!

  • "unlike our culture that is at cross purposes and the enemy of all life (humans and all)."

Right listen very carfully I'll say this only once. We ARE nature, we ARE animal's, we ARE a costituent part of this ecosystem. Why do people have such a hard time exsepting such an obvious fact. Why are we so arrogent to think we'er somehow special, separate, above the earth somehow. Maby thats the problem, the human race needs some humility.

  • Great advice.

  • you have some amazing videos!

  • Thanks so do you.

  • Hello Karen, thank you for your comment on my new video. These artists must go to prison. Someone told me that there is an international police. Have you heard about it? I sent my letter to President Calderon today in regards to implementing stronger penalties to persons who commit cruelty to animals.

  • great video. I love the music, its all so cultured, thank you.

  • The problem is not this message, it's been made very clear for these last few years. The question is if we should force people instead of waiting till something is done like the good samaritan democracies we are, or.. adapt, just like your message says so, have politics adapt and remove some of our freedoms to produce filth, waste energy and overconsume. Next question, should we force other countries to do the same.

    Have a nice day!

  • Brilliant message....Very well phrased....Thanks!

  • But to be fair on your message, if it is repeated enough times people might still take the initiative. So keep up the good work!

Btw, the photo with the bike is from nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam. my country ^^

  • So weird that the world used to be quite sustainable - probably up until the late 1960's in fact - before globalisation began to really take off. Now because of all of that politically managed globalisation and world trade expansion we have to go sustainable again. Governments caused it and now they are the ones getting us to go back on what they caused.

  • Those big mutant tomatoes looked delicious. Good video.

  • no need to apologize, what a great sidebar. favoriting this cogent and constructive, terrific video.

  • good video

  • lol,

i thought it was gonna be

    "and remember: stop having babies"

  • Yes, I should definitely have included that. If we did stop having so many babies, maybe we could give more attention to the ones who are here. Good point!

  • well maybe someone else could, I'll tend to the turnips and :P they don't scream!

are you participating in this walking the walk channel?

  • I subscribed, but I tend to be ignored by the Inmendham, Wudar crowd, so likely I won't participate actively. But I will be an interested observer. How 'bout you?

  • at 0.33 i cycle there every day to college :P

  • Excellent, very well produced video. In particular I like how you emphasize how serious a subject this is, while at the same time show how relatively simple lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

  • Well done. I think you made a very specific point quite hard to ignore... ~peace

  • Very well done.

  • I've been a big fan of Jeffrey Sachs for about 20 years now. You'll love his book.

  • Yes, I agree about Jeffrey Sachs...Thanks for reading the sidebar. I wanted to keep this vid to a minute, but couldn't.

  • change and die... JUst don't colour me bad mamma

  • Change or DIE.

    GREAT POST.
