Best thing folks is that TM is not trying to be anything other than TM and that's a whole heck-uv-a-lot!! I've seen both Paul and TM live and they both do their thing and they both do it real well. Save your competition for sports..this is beautiful, groovin' music!!

I remember when T.M. was all the rage. He had the Bootsy thing going plus he could play fusion. Ridiculous playing ability!

Personally, nothing has ever come close to seeing Paul Jackson in'74 w/ Herbie.

The music percolated and bubbled to a boil in every tune. The audience was hypnotized by the layers of urban bay area funk, African ryhthms and Herbie's magical Fender Rhodes.

Paul was using a P bass probably with flatwound strings. No match for T.M.'s

gear.

they have their own unique styles, meaning neither is better than the other.

Too many people do this "he's better than him" bullshit, when anyone that really knows music, and what it takes to play an instrument to the level that these guys are at, knows that every player is unique, having a certain combination of skills that maybe no other player has.

This is not the headhunteres. Only the drummer Mike Clark is from the headhunters. You should check out the real headhunters. That's twice better (at least) . the bass player is Paul Jackson Senior a, the sax Bennie Maupin, the percussionist Bill summers, and the Guitarist Blackbird ?Nc Knight ;) you can fint them on you tube I think
