Nkomo lost, Mugabe won, so Zimbabwe got under China's influence, not Russia's. It was China, not Russia who was actively helping Zimbabwe after Mugabe came to power. Russia had little influence. They did not even open an embassy until 1981.

Usually a difference between an authoritarian regime and a totalitarian regime. The dictatorships the US didn't support are still there: Cuba, Vietnam, China, North Korea. No country of which I am aware is a democracy in that every single issue is put to the vote by the general population. But America has much more issues subject to democratic vote than any other country: state constitutions are amended by popular vote. Even county coroners are picked by popular vote.
Compare this with your Germany: the head of state isn't chosen by popular vote, the head of government isn't chosen by popular vote, the Bundesrat representatives aren't chosen by popular vote. And individual members of the Bundestag are much more subservient to their party than their opposite Congressional numbers. Congressmen and Senators are all popularly elected and they have greater freedom to exercise their own conscience.

In 1980 Mugabe came to power as a result of rigged elections. By agreement, all guerrillas and Security Forces were to be stationed in special zones to avoid intimidation. Mugabe issued an order to guerrillas to stay and to dominate their areas. Elections supervisor reported that in 5 out of 8 districts fair conditions did not exist. Other candidates could not move in there. In one case people were forced to watch the headman having his eyes gouged out, disembowelled and dogs eating the remains.

There are no sanctions. What you call "sanctions" is the refusal by US banks (e.g. IMF) to give Mugabe any more money. It is by no means "sanctions", it is simply a refusal to finance his corrupt regime! The only real sanctions are against personal effects and businesses owned by about 200 corrupt government officials. And even these sanctions are by US and EU only. The true obstacle for a trade is that there is nothing Zim can offer the world: both its economy and agriculture have collapsed.

Zim is not in isolation and has never been. Other than a few companies owned by ZANU-PF, other Zim businesses can freely trade with any country in the world. And even blacklisted companies can trade with any country except US and EU. The bulk of all Zimbabweans exports have always been to South Africa. So there are no restrictions there whatsoever. The true obstacle for a successful trade is that there is very little Zim can offer the world: both its economy and agriculture have collapsed.

You are in the wrong here; Russia's presence in Zimbabwe was and is next to none. Russia historically supported Nkomo's ZAPU and his ZIPRA guerrilla army. China supported Mugabe's ZANU and ZANLA. Nkomo lost, Mugabe won, so Zimbabwe got under China's influence, not Russia's. It was China, not Russia who was actively helping Zimbabwe after Mugabe came to power. Russia had little influence. They did not even open an embassy until 1981.

If the United States supported a dictatorship, it was a compromise choice that prevented a worse dictatorship from coming about. Usually a difference between an authoritarian regime and a totalitarian regime. The dictatorships the US didn't support are still there: Cuba, Vietnam, China, North Korea. Their counterpart regimes are long gone: Dominican Republic, Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea. Look at the EU, though; legitimizing Cuba, selling arms to China, kowtowing to Iran.

You look at other countries with lots of black people: Brazil, Jamaica, South Africa, and so forth. They also have a lot of violent crime. Sweden doesn't have this issue because it's ethnically homogeneous with very few black people. No one proposes that America expel its black people. If black people as a whole would only create stable families and educational opportunities for themselves (the latter is complicated by the teachers' unions), America would have significantly reduced crime.

Technically America is not a democracy, it's a representative republic. But given the multitude of referenda and positions and issues up for popular vote, there is no country on the planet that is more democratic than the US. And I wouldn't call Germany stable when it was riven by communism only 20 years ago. Neither France which has been through 5 republics in the same time that America has been through one. Neither Canada which could very well implode as Quebec, Alberta, and BC secede from it.

First off, are you saying that the UK doesn't use democracy because it's a constitutional democracy? Democratic means determine representatives in a republic. No country of which I am aware is a democracy in that every single issue is put to the vote by the general population. But America has much more issues subject to democratic vote than any other country: state constitutions are amended by popular vote. Even county coroners are picked by popular vote.

Compare this with your Germany: the head of state isn't chosen by popular vote, the head of government isn't chosen by popular vote, the Bundesrat representatives aren't chosen by popular vote. And individual members of the Bundestag are much more subservient to their party than their opposite Congressional numbers. Congressmen and Senators are all popularly elected and they have greater freedom to exercise their own conscience.
