Fucking genius!!! What a song. What a performance. Its typical that one of their best songs was a b-side - they wrote so many great songs that they didn't do throw away b-sides.
'Return' always warms my heart and brings me back to a special time in my life. I love how this is song is, perhaps, a loving Siouxsie scold to Budgie the problems he was experiencing at that time...when will WE ever learn? :) I miss the Banshees...
Thank you for posting. I always loved this song and its so fucking cool to find a live post! Wow. Its also always rad to see other people love a b-side that you thought only you loved.
Thank you for this wonderful video, one of the best songs ever, rendered in one of the best ways ever. I always thought it was a a gig in Wadbühne..?? I don't know why, I'm surely wrong.
Can't believe a dude wrote this song...Can't believe a dude wrote this song...Can't believe a dude wrote this song...Can't believe a dude wrote this song...Can't believe a dude wrote this song...........
This song is a masterpiece, but band needs to put some effort into the song! There are much better renditions than this one, but last minute of the song is great! Too bad it wasnt a single...
Other than the version that was only released on a single format and a few other live versions I have of this song, there aren't any alternate versions (at least not by SATB).
This song was a B side for "Kiss them for me". Its on one of the disks in the Down Side Up box set. Budgie wrote most of the lyrics for this one I think, and another song that kinda goes with this one. The other song was called Staring Back.
it is a Bside for that single- not as strong in the studio though she sings in key for it- she's flat as hell in this- i love her, I do- one of my 1st crushes- but this isn't theit best live footage.
but its not reading festival ... i was there its in northeim/germany . but great though, it is more pushing than the studio version --- down to a hell thats surely waiting down to a hell i know that i deserve ....simply class !

I simply cannot express my deep and vast love of this song...There are no words that can do it justice.
However, when words exist that can properly describe how much I adore' Return' they will have been created by Siouxsi

Takac1979 means that the band performed it better themselves on other occasions
A performance is a "rendition" in this context

Still can't get over the fact that a dude wrote this song. When I thought it was Siouxsie's lyrics it had a surreal feel.
HeathInClearLake 4 years ago
Siouxsie and Budgie has made this together. Siouxsie wrote the chorus and Budgie the verses. I don't wonder at all why they are married =)
MisterOze 4 years ago
why does itr fuckin matter what gender the lyricist was? Check out leonard cohen and the cowboy junkies.
Surreal like what
