To all the ppl that complain about using the same moves over and over, you should be able to beat him if he does the same thing. Ryu's special's are all unsafe. If you're losing to Ryu spamming moves or Rog spamming Dash Punches you should just stop playing SF. Period.

@RadicallyDreaming nah dude i was one of the best bison players on 360 until i started playin DOA, my bison skill, is strong, a strong fighter can take down any challenger with little effort, but if you know only 3 basic button commands, you should take that game back to game stop and get your money back and get something more along your skill type, like super mario bros or something

This is actually one of the reasons I stopped playing people online in SF4 and Tekken 6. They're starting to take these games WAAAAYYYY to friggin seriously. It's a game, you're supposed to have fun, and everyone plays theirs differently. If you lost, just accept it, go back to the gym and come back for a rematch. Getting mad at someone for beating you is stupid, and it shows that you're a sore loser.

I actually have a huge list of reasons why I hate Street Fighter 4. Honestly, I don't think it deserves anywhere near as much attention as it has and only got this popular because of it's title and good advertising, otherwise they didn't put too much effort into making the actual game. Just getting it to sell. That's just my opinion though.
It helps that it's only competition was blazblue (kof12 is terrible).
The actual game shows more effort than the SF series is used to, in that SF games are normally just basic arcade ports. I have a bone to pick with the combo system, and capcom putting more effort into balance than actual character design, but it's a solid fighter, definitely deserving of attention.
Maybe, but can you say it's as deserving? The other fighters that came out through the time didn't get attention, then this game comes and does nothing to get a huge fanbase. I can't really call it a "solid" fighter, cause it didn't do anything right. The battle system is very flawed along with everything else.
What fighters were more deserving of attention? Blazblue I'll give you (it got TOTALLY eclipsed), but outside of that there was tekken (did as well if not better than sf4) and KOF12 (which SNK basically bailed on).

But people never gave a chance to the hundreds of good fighting games that came out BEFORE Street Fighter 4, and then they say "This game, that isn't even that good and is highly overrated gets best fighter in many years because it's title is Street Fighter!" I'm not talking about the 09 games either, I'm talking about BEFORE 09. So much happened before that, but people didn't bother because "Oh, it requires too much effort" and it's not Street Fighter.

I wasn't aware Arcana Hearts 2 even had a us release. I think fighting with little girls is the kind of thing that would be hard to catch on in the US though...
and 98 is a DL game. To expect a REMAKE of a DL game to do well without a huge amount of work is silly. 98 was barely known in the US when it first came out and was new. It doesn't help that SNK doesn't care about the franchise.
And again, pretty sure actress again didn't make it to the states.
One horrible example of what SF4 does is reward the one who works least the best. Ultras are just a horrible way of saying "Hey, we want people who don't know crap to come and play and feel like they can win for doing nothing." Also, there's nothing really "unique" about Street Fighter 4 that makes it all that good. Every other fighter has what Street Fighter 4 has, except more finely tune, so why is this game so deserving for just ripping off an old game and making a few adjustments?
No. The person who get's ultra means their losing (unless ther using focus REALLY well).
If they even manage to land the ultra (which if they "don't know crap" as you suggest, they wouldn't be able to do), then the opponent gets access to HIS ultra.
Gaining meter for being hit isn't a new concept It having it's own bar is, but that's fine. Ultra's arent a free win pass, and supers/ultras are always game changing if their any good.
That's what I mean though. Ultras reward you for getting punished. In my honest opinion, that's lame. Also, some characters have way better Ultras than others.
Yeah, but it's kind of ridiculous, you know? An already, not so good character like Sakura has one of the crappiest Ultras in the game. Why even have it? Then you have Blanka... Let's not go there though. But you get what I mean, right? Personally, I think they should get rid of the Ultra system, but that's not my only complaint about the game.
I understand, and I agree it's a shame when a super/ultra is terrible, but that isn't the fault f the system. If they made the terrible ultras not...terrible, everything would be fine.
In sakura's case, a simple damage buff to her ultra would make it perfect. Blanka, they nerfed, so his second ultra better be good, or they messed up AGAIN.
I'm pulling for vega myself. And I have plenty of complaints about the game too, but I have more things I like.
Well, Arcana Heart 2 actually has some boys in it now. But there's more than just Ultras, it's just the game's level of complexity and how little it did to get where it is.
That's just how it is. Since AH1 just barely made it over here, towards the END of the PS2's lifespan, it couldn't get a following over here.
SF4, Tekken 6, and to a lesser extent, even blazblu (made famous because of Guilty gear), and KOF12, all got recognition in the USA due to them all being established franchises. Brand new franchises in a niche genre like fighters have it rough.

@Siberianhusky89 Sakura's actually a little of both depending on how you use her and what type of opponent you're up against. Most any character in Street Fighter can be tough to go up against, but some are easier than others. I've always found Sakura to be an amazing counter-projectile and counter-shoryuken character. To date, the ONLY problems I have are against good Vega players (and by good, I mean people who actually know what they're doing, not just pulling Maxi on me)
I dont' know. I really think Street Fighter 4 is a horrible fighting game. I mean, let me ask man, how many people would think this is good if it wasn't Street Fighter? Nobody gave a crap about everything between 3 and 4. I think it's just a bunch of bandwagon shit going on. I'm sorry if it sounds insulting, but still... I watched matches with Daigo, it was depressing... I also watched a match, Fuudo vs (^__^) Guile... It was just really sad in my honest opinion that it would revert to this.
@Siberianhusky89 I like Street Fighter 4 for the nostalgia factor. It really takes me back to the old Street Fighter 2 days, and I think that was the goal of this game. I grew up with games like Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and Tekken 2, and while I'm into these newer and more complex fighting games (like Guilty Gear) I tend to appreciate the older ones more. I guess I'm more of a classic gamer like that...
It's alright. I love classic games too, but I mostly hate the fact that other fighting games are getting overshadowed just because they're not Street Fighter and it's the biggest and most appreciated fighting game for just being Street Fighter. I want to work for my win, not win for almost no reason but standing back doing the same thing over and over again and MAYBE poking once in a while. I don't know how to explain it, but I think SF4 was just not done well at all.
No game has the amount of options with meter that SF4 does. Ex moves, and EX FADC, and super, and ultras. the match dynamic is always changing, just based on meter management.
Also, because the ultra meter works the way it does, the focus system is GREAT in SF4, which you won't find in any other game. Hell, EX moves have only been done twice before SF4 iirc.
They can't get mad because for one, Capcom only gave most of their characters like 3 moves and because you kicked their butts using what was given to you and because they were too sorry to adapt to your style of play. Kudos Cambo for showing losers that they need to actually practice to get good. Did they actually expect you to go into the game and program new moves to use against them? I mean really? Good Job for real Cambo. Make them even madder by sweeping the floor with them.
Actually, I'd just send hate mail because I think Street Fighter 4 doesn't deserve it's attention and think people are making a horrible mistake by giving money to a man who made a fighter that doesn't deserve it's attention. I use Gen by the way and mix it up a lot.
You'll hear people whining about the most retarded of things; saying you turtle when you're playing rushdown from the first second of the match till the last; calling you a spammer when you (as you have to with Gen) utilize every move in your character's arsenal etc.

Be real. I don't say you do , but it is cheap to use just a few tricks with high recovery rates en priority all the time. 99,9% you play against Ryu or Ken. As a result when somebody picks a diferent character you don't know the matchup.Nobody learns from this.

One horrible example of what SF4 does is reward the one who works least the best. Ultras are just a horrible way of saying "Hey, we want people who don't know crap to come and play and feel like they can win for doing nothing." Also, there's nothing really "unique" about Street Fighter 4 that makes it all that good. Every other fighter has what Street Fighter 4 has, except more finely tune, so why is this game so deserving for just ripping off an old game and making a few adjustments?

No. The person who get's ultra means their losing (unless ther using focus REALLY well).
If they even manage to land the ultra (which if they "don't know crap" as you suggest, they wouldn't be able to do), then the opponent gets access to HIS ultra.
Gaining meter for being hit isn't a new concept It having it's own bar is, but that's fine. Ultra's arent a free win pass, and supers/ultras are always game changing if their any good.

That's what I mean though. Ultras reward you for getting punished. In my honest opinion, that's lame. Also, some characters have way better Ultras than others.

It's not that some characters have better ultras, it's that some ultra's are straight up garbage.
Bad supers are in every fighting game.

Yeah, but it's kind of ridiculous, you know? An already, not so good character like Sakura has one of the crappiest Ultras in the game. Why even have it? Then you have Blanka... Let's not go there though. But you get what I mean, right? Personally, I think they should get rid of the Ultra system, but that's not my only complaint about the game.

I understand, and I agree it's a shame when a super/ultra is terrible, but that isn't the fault f the system. If they made the terrible ultras not...terrible, everything would be fine.
In sakura's case, a simple damage buff to her ultra would make it perfect. Blanka, they nerfed, so his second ultra better be good, or they messed up AGAIN.
I'm pulling for vega myself. And I have plenty of complaints about the game too, but I have more things I like.

Well, Arcana Heart 2 actually has some boys in it now. But there's more than just Ultras, it's just the game's level of complexity and how little it did to get where it is.

That's just how it is. Since AH1 just barely made it over here, towards the END of the PS2's lifespan, it couldn't get a following over here.
SF4, Tekken 6, and to a lesser extent, even blazblu (made famous because of Guilty gear), and KOF12, all got recognition in the USA due to them all being established franchises. Brand new franchises in a niche genre like fighters have it rough.

@Siberianhusky89 Sakura's actually a little of both depending on how you use her and what type of opponent you're up against. Most any character in Street Fighter can be tough to go up against, but some are easier than others. I've always found Sakura to be an amazing counter-projectile and counter-shoryuken character. To date, the ONLY problems I have are against good Vega players (and by good, I mean people who actually know what they're doing, not just pulling Maxi on me)

I dont' know. I really think Street Fighter 4 is a horrible fighting game. I mean, let me ask man, how many people would think this is good if it wasn't Street Fighter? Nobody gave a crap about everything between 3 and 4. I think it's just a bunch of bandwagon shit going on. I'm sorry if it sounds insulting, but still... I watched matches with Daigo, it was depressing... I also watched a match, Fuudo vs (^__^) Guile... It was just really sad in my honest opinion that it would revert to this.

@Siberianhusky89 I like Street Fighter 4 for the nostalgia factor. It really takes me back to the old Street Fighter 2 days, and I think that was the goal of this game. I grew up with games like Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and Tekken 2, and while I'm into these newer and more complex fighting games (like Guilty Gear) I tend to appreciate the older ones more. I guess I'm more of a classic gamer like that...

It's alright. I love classic games too, but I mostly hate the fact that other fighting games are getting overshadowed just because they're not Street Fighter and it's the biggest and most appreciated fighting game for just being Street Fighter. I want to work for my win, not win for almost no reason but standing back doing the same thing over and over again and MAYBE poking once in a while. I don't know how to explain it, but I think SF4 was just not done well at all.

No game has the amount of options with meter that SF4 does. Ex moves, and EX FADC, and super, and ultras. the match dynamic is always changing, just based on meter management.
Also, because the ultra meter works the way it does, the focus system is GREAT in SF4, which you won't find in any other game. Hell, EX moves have only been done twice before SF4 iirc.

They can't get mad because for one, Capcom only gave most of their characters like 3 moves and because you kicked their butts using what was given to you and because they were too sorry to adapt to your style of play. Kudos Cambo for showing losers that they need to actually practice to get good. Did they actually expect you to go into the game and program new moves to use against them? I mean really? Good Job for real Cambo. Make them even madder by sweeping the floor with them.

Actually, I'd just send hate mail because I think Street Fighter 4 doesn't deserve it's attention and think people are making a horrible mistake by giving money to a man who made a fighter that doesn't deserve it's attention. I don't send hate mail after matches however. Only online for SF4 because I hate this game "religiously". Though, that's just me.

I use Gen by the way and mix it up a lot.
You'll hear people whining about the most retarded of things; saying you turtle when you're playing rushdown from the first second of the match till the last; calling you a spammer when you (as you have to with Gen) utilize every move in your character's arsenal etc.

Be real. I don't say you do , but it is cheap to use just a few tricks with high recovery rates en priority all the time. 99,9% you play against Ryu or Ken. As a result when somebody picks a diferent character you don't know the matchup.Nobody learns from this.
