@ego382 Dear talentless computer commentator. Feel free to post a song you have written and performed. I believe I speak for most here with regards to numbnuts such as yourself. Also please refrain from utilizing an elipsis unless you are familiar with its proper usage.
apparently she has been around for over 20 years and I have never heard of her until today...the radio station in key west plays '' rightous'' and'' joy '' all the time but never tells you who the artist is..I literally had to pic out certain words from her songs and throw them up on youtube just to find out who played these fun and interesting songs...and man ...what a find ...this lady is great and her band is top notch...her lead guitarist is just as good as eric clapton if not better
@bozo47p You should go buy her Fillmore live album. Doug Pettibone, the lead guitarist's guitar playing alone is well worth the price of admission. 2 hours of great playing and fantastic tone. Sadly, I don't think he's touring with Lucinda anymore.

I think its time to hang up the large hoop earrings and retire to the nursing home granny. That whorish amount of eye liner is not doing you any favors either.
No one working today assembles a better group of musicians that so fully deliver their intentions. The guitar work is always perfectly placed and perfectly pitched and always delivers.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! This is one of my favorite Luci songs and have never found a live performance of it that i could rave about...until now! I'll be adding this to my FAVORITES...Thanks amizakk!!!
@ClabSquisher wait 20 years, look in the mirror, take your own inventory of your life and accomplishments, then watch this, we all get older, but can we still say we are doing what we love to do?
was fortunate enough to see her a few weeks ago on new years eve at the viper room in west hollywood,,,the band was the same as above except for the rythm guitarist...he was replaced by val mccallum from the opening band, jackshit...he and doug were incredible playing back and forth...have been in love with her for years and to have my first chance to see her be in a small, cramped bar, was awesome...what a way to bring in 2011..
@j2fives So Doug is back? If that's the case, fantastic then. Last time I've seen live clips he wasn't there. Lucinda is Lucinda but as a guitar player, it just wasn't the same without him.
I love her because she looks drunk, smacked out and like she's been walking the streets all night. She just puts herself out there and doesn't give a damn.
@marychainful - One of the best gigs I ever went to, Nottingham Rock City in England, many years ago , Ozzy was headlining with whomever his band was at the time. He never got a chance to either read or remember his lyrics as, apparently, he wandered out of his bus, out of the parking lot and into town when he was due on stage. Of course, a riot ensued, and we all loved it, but never saw Ozzy that night.
I LOVE THIS SONG, WISH SOMEONE WOULD SING IT BETTER, SEEMS LIKE SHE IS LOOKIN DOWN FOR THE LYRICS. SHES NOT SINGIN WITH HER SOUL, SHES NOT OWNIN IT LIKE SHE SHOULD
Lucinda is an acquired taste, apparently. But I sure am glad I acquired it! Doug Pettibone's guitar work on this track (on this vid and on the record) is just sizzlin'...love that nasty tone.
That 'Guy" is Doug Pettibone! and he is the ONLY one to see play with Lucinda Williams! Not that those other guys aren't good...they just don't hold a candle to him...and the chemistry he has with her. The are electricity personified together!!
I Am A Lover Of All Lucindas Music, As Far As A Favorite...Depends On My Mood!! Essence, Come On, Changed The Locks, Honey Bee, Still I Long For Your Kiss, Are You Alright? I Lost It, Jackson, Concrete And Barbed Wire, Jailhouse Tears, Price To Pay, Unsuffer Me, Learning How To Live...........................How Can You Pick Just One???
What a great song...can inspire any girl no matter what genre of music she likes. My father introduced this song to my sister, a musician, and me, a lover of music. To this day my sister and I will always remember that day. We fell in love with this song.
i disagree with everyone's comment....this band is so flat ,and has no energy, they look tired and bored....awful performance by the whole band although i like lucinda as a singer from her cd's.....have seen several -u-tubes of the band and they are pathetic....ms.williams skip the live performances.....you guys are bad performers..
i am so happy you speak for most

It never fails that the most inspired song writers attract the best musicians to their group. Ms. Williams' band is brilliant and flawless.
