She is absolutely right about the utter failure of socialism. This is a good human being that has done much good in her life and every time you vile America hating lefties attack her personally, the overwhelming majority of Americans respect her that much more.
Hey Michelle, if you're so much against "socialism", could you explain this letter you sent to Agricultural Sec. Tom Vilsack in 2009?
"Your efforts to stabilize prices through direct government purchasing of pork and dairy products are very much welcomed by the producers in Minnesota, and I would encourage you to take any additional steps necessary to prevent further deterioration of these critical industries, such as making additional commodity purchases......"
@GeorgiaKev "This isn't a subsidy," said Dave Warner, Director of Communications at the National Pork Producers Council. "This is the federal government getting the food they need for food assistance programs and getting it at a good price." (via Huffington Post)
@GeorgiaKev "This action favored some producers and took funding away from others," said Chris Edwards, editor of the Cato Institute’s Downsizing Government website. "If pork and dairy producers were affected by that particular outbreak [H1N1], that is why they have insurance. Federal government has massive farm insurance programs. They can also save..... I think this is just a way to provide subsidies for a private special interest without a budget."
@GeorgiaKev I agree that usurpation on any level hurts our prosperity in its malinvestment. I'd like to reduce local, State and Federal government. It's way too big and way too powerful. I hope she addresses this sooner rather than later. What she appropriated for "pork or subsidy" seems to be a small amount but I'd still like hear how she sees limited govt and free markets on these issues including transportation overbuild or speculative build.
Why are people apart of the Tea Party so against government regulation yet they support government regulation of abortion and marriage? Thats quite hypocritical
The Right considers abortion murder therefore a crime against a person like yourself. They consider marriage not to be purely for love's sake but to be a function of and for child rearing. Besides marriage was never intended to be controlled by the state.

@DoomMetalSludge When the Feds usurp State or commercial responsibilities they eliminate the natural and most efficiant way to get rid of failing companies, bad ideas and bad people. So it requires more regulation which increases the cost. Whenever regulation imposes a cost, there must be a cost/benefit analysis and it should always be market generic rather than prefering one tech or another or one company product over another.
@1isaM111er Those are interesting points, but you still failed to answer my initial question which was "Why are people apart of the Tea Party so against government regulation YET THEY SUPPORT GOVERNMENT REGULATION OF ABORTION AND MARRIAGE?"
