  • I'd love to get the music, any pointers?

  • @Jackman24601 I'm not sure who specifically arranged this tune, but you could always look into it. If you could transcribe it by ear go for it.

  • Skyrim

  • Chris Farley lives!!!!!

    Seriously nice sound tho!

  • Wow! Best quartet ever.

  • WOW

  • pause at 2:41 hahaah

  • i have watched this over and over and still can not get over how good these guys are. The ending to this song...... wow. thats all i can say. Wow

  • How about those overtones on the last chord?! Nice!

  • I would argue that Dr. James Henry is the greatest bass that barbershop has ever produced...

  • @Thumpalina100 I'm thinking not so much. This isn't to say that Dr. Henry isn't good (in spite of the fact that Crossroads bored me to tears), there are far too many REALLY good singers out there to say that any one is the 'most sensational of all times'. Perhaps I feel this way BECAUSE Crossroads bored me to tears (though I'm not entirely sure the facts reflect this as AoH certainly did *NOT* bore me to tears). He's good, but I just don't think he's all that and a bag of pretzels.

  • David Cameron singing tenor?

  • @Jackman24601 I see more of a Matthew Perry haha

  • @dablueiguana Aaah, I see what you mean

  • @Jackman24601 counter tenor u mean. heheheh.

  • @lancezabala No, I mean tenor. It's what they're called in barbershop. I.e, Tenor, Lead, Baritone, Bass.

  • @Jackman24601 oh i see. glad to know. :D hehe

  • @lancezabala And since they don't make much money, you might say he's a bargain counter tenor!

  • i just graduated but he was my teacher for the past 4 years. =P

  • The one who sings baritone is my choir director I'm amazed at how well he does what he does.

  • @MegaObsidian1 Your a very luck lucky lucky person you know that? XD

  • @MegaObsidian1 Gary Lewis is your director!?! You lucky son of a bitch. You've got a golden ticket in your hand, if you want to be a champion no one can show you the way better than Gary. Take the hint that fate has given you and win that gold!

  • The last chord smacks you in the face!

  • What the bleep is with these guys' dynamics? I couldn't tell if the sound guy was just fading/amping them time to time. XD

  • That sucks. They probably wouldve taken it.

  • They wanted to focus on recording the next VM album and take a year off. That's what the Harmonizer said.

  • anyone know why jeff and greg's chorus wasn't at internationals this year? Vocal majority?

  • And Joe Connelly just won without him!

  • I guess Tony can win without Joe Connelly...

  • whats the bass's name? i see him everywhere in barbershop lol

  • @nickluna5995 Jeff Oxley

  • @nickluna5995 Jeff Oxley, most famous bass in bbs history pretty much :D

  • Wow these guys are amazing

  • @BarbershopHarmony38 what song is this? :D they are sooo funny and awesome!

  • @violinwesley Put your arms around me

  • A quartet of Gary Lewis, Gary Lewis, Gary Lewis and Gary Lewis...if carlsberg did Barbershop Quartets...

  • Max Q and Acoustix are the best

  • I think i have contributed about 1,000 of the 68,000 views. You're welcome Max Q. So damn good.

  • I love how Max Q isn't just a group of incredible singers, they all have incredible stage presence and they make awesome facial expressions haha

  • jeff oxley, you are my favorite bass ever. please come teach me the art of singing bass.

  • DeRosa is AWESOME. He's an AWESOME bari and an AWESOME lead. These guys are definetly in my top 5 favorite quartets

  • 3:07 dat overtone

  • LOVE that tag!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3 people are tone deaf......or jealous.....

  • DeRosa is the master of posts.....well second to Tim Waurick that is.

  • @LilKroog DeRosa at Tim's age was better. Nothing against Tim, however.

  • @kitzmiller100786 Agreed.

  • The best tag overtone I ever heard!

  • bill clinton singin bass

  • @MrXrofl , Jeff Oxley is WAY cooler than Bill Clinton.

  • @tenorspaz Wasn't he the bass for the acoustix some years ago?

  • @MrJAich1 I am just getting into the style of barbershop again and after listening to many quartets realized how dumb this question sounds.....

  • @MrJAich1 Yes he was.

  • @MrXrofl

I did not make overtones with that woman...

  • @LongKungFu hahahaha you deserve an award.

  • @MrXrofl and Tenor

  • WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • anyone know the songs/arrangers????

  • WHO THE HELL DISLIKES THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHO THE HELL DISLIKES THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @trumpetguy19 probably the quartets who are tired of facing Jeff Oxley every 10 years.

  • This is probably my favorite barbershop video on Youtube

  • I've watched this over 200 times today.

  • My favorite quartet next to Keepsake and Gas House Gang.

Jeff Oxley can't be touched man.

  • these guys are amazing, definitely my favourite quartet since Gas House Gang

  • @cw82352 Not sure how this comment can be made...please elaborate.

  • i didn't know david cameron was a countertenor

  • Kudos to this group. Excellent singers, phenomenal bass!

  • What is this dong called?

  • Tony is getting heavy!

  • Ya know, BsH, this is one of those things that, in my HF opinion, is better listened to than watched.

  • I used to be in the same district as these guys when our quartet sang. Put us to shame lol

  • I've never heard four men make a more in-tune chord (end)

  • Is that guy on the right the director of any major ensembles? I recognize him from somewhere...

  • If I were to sum up this quartet in one word it would be "explosive."

  • T1 Hanger is kind of wussy.

  • hey boys and girls can any of you recommend a list of TTBB songs for my quartet im trying to find a good list email them to me if you would that would be awesome!! thanks:)

  • e_e;

  • The best overtone I've ever heard!

  • this song is so awesome and probably one of the hardest barbershop songs out there and they KILL IT!

  • These guys are my heroes!

  • I absolutely love these guys, they are so talented and funny, i would pay good money to go and see them or to buy their cd

  • De La Rosa: possibly the most sensational barbershop singer of all time...

  • Are you talking about Tony? Or is there a De La Rosa that I don't know about.

  • si, the infamous Tony De La Rosa

  • @topshelfbari15

    derosa=sensational

    oxley=just plain beast

  • @topshelfbari15 DeRosa, not De La Rosa. And yes, I totally agree with you.

  • Gary Lewis is the choir director at the school I go to. This is eerie seeing him in a video with 20k views.

  • he use to be the choir director at my old school...hes my favorite teacher ever...hes amazing :)

  • It should be more like 100,000...at least.

  • Wow. I heard he's amazing. If you're not lying, that's prettyyy awesome.

  • gary lewis is a hero among many men

  • This is my first time hearing this, and I'm amazed. Thank you so much!

  • wow now that i listen again even the first few words when the tenor comes back in it seriously sounds like "" put your arms aroun' me hunny, hol' me tight i wasnt making it up

  • now dont get me wrong. this is awesome stuff but im not gonna lie in some parts you guys could have used a little more diction on your words even though you can still tell what your singing it doesnt hurt to add a little kick to the end of your word there were lots of missing "t" and "d" sounds

  • The tenor with the post FTW!!!!

  • Wow! What a great performance and arrangement of a classic song - done with superb harmonies and great humour too. Loved it! :)

  • 2:09 to 2:20 is what happens when you get 4 singers at the height of their craft. wow. just...wow.

  • Gary is director of a barbershop chorus I'm in. I love him!!! GARY GARY GARY!!!!

  • Yes I love Max q. I live in the UK and have purchased the 2005,2006 and 2007 DVD's they cost a fortune to buy AND import! The 2008 Nashville DVD is $40!!! Plus P&P and tax to the UK....... I am looking at around $70 for one DVD. I simply can't afford it and as far as I am aware you can't buy Barbershop Harmony Society DVD's in the shops yes?

  • that really sucks !!! $70 wow ! we must do something with that !!

  • Yes thanks for your help he is great and so is gary lewis i also like the crossroads quartet Jim henry bass brandon guyton baritone mike slamka lead and fred farrel tenor thanks jsm210874 thanks

  • yes the bass is Jeff Oxley, his first gold was with the Rapscallions in 84 and then the Acoustix in 90 so this would be gold #3

  • I love the bass jeff and i love the lead tony and i love the tenor just cant think of his name can anyone help me out?

  • Do you mean Greg Clancy?

  • I used to be able to see Here's to the losers on Youtube. I wonder what ever happened to that vid?

  • Copyright violation.

Videos from contests uploaded by anyone other than "BarbershopHarmony38" are liable to be removed, and their uploaders' accounts deleted and them banned from YouTube. That would also delete any and all videos uploaded by those people — even the legal ones.

This is the law. It's not something that the Society or YouTube can do anything about. They give fair warning: you must either own, or know for a certain that you have permission to upload, every aspect of a video.

  • Man I would LOVE to see that!!

  • was the bass also in acoustix?

  • Yes. He won his.... 2nd gold(?) in Acoustix. Might have been his third... don't remember off hand.

  • barbershop is so nice to hear

  • ................ :)

  • 2:11 - 2:15 is ridiculous. Everything in that 4 seconds is ringing and in good resonance even though it's at super low volume.

  • can somebody please post a good version of you can fly?

  • U know what would be more fun...

OC Times form 2007 in stereo....!

  • Tony makes me laugh so much. His mannerisms are pure genius.

  • These guys are awesome!

I got to sing a tag with them when the came to Michigan! Jeff is deff. not a people person but the others are really friendly....this is my favorite group!

  • Great song, huge group... and wonderful, fantastic expressions!! LOL Great guys!!

  • i love it great song for a great group.

  • Apparently one of these people work at my school now. My choir teacher was going on about it. I think his name was Jerry?

  • or was it terry? maybe larry? haha

  • Haha. I'm pretty sure it's the tallest one because he looks the most familar.

  • The bass and the tenor are the tallest, so Jeff Oxley (bass) or Greg Clancy (tenor).

  • Hahahaha. Good one.

  • You're probably thinking of Gary, Gary Lewis. He does alot of work in schools coaching aspiring quartets.

  • Yeah, thats it. But from what I know they're aren't any quartets in our school haha.

  • They are so great singers and so funny ! thanks !

  • I know that you have "Here's to the Losers"

Is there anyway that you will be able to load that up for me please.

  • Woo! it worked! HD is a success! Everything in Sync and oh.. it's beautiful to watch :D

  • It looks like they filmed it in 1080i, but YouTube™ HD is 720p. You can see some interlacing "horizontal movement fringing" artifacts.

But other than that, it's gorgeous!

  • The actual event was filmed in Standard Definition. That's why I have to deinterlace and up convert it. It still looks great though. ;)

    Jesse

  • ahh, I forgot about de-interlacing it! that's the most important part! bah, well—it's good to now see them up-and-running

  • Ah, yes, that would do it.

So, bordonthestreet, YOU converted this video?

  • haha, not even close. But I made a suggestion to Jesse on fixing the "HD" problem. I wasn't much help however, as I'd forgotten the integral part! Duh-oh..

  • Hey, Jesse, are you the main one in charge of the Society's YouTube™ channel?

Are you familiar with YouTube Revenue Sharing? This may well be a way to get permission to post more Barbershop videos on YouTube legally, because we can make sure that the copyright holders get paid!

It wouldn't be a LOT of money, but it would legally indicate that YouTube acknowledges you as legally authorized to collect revenues on behalf of the copyright holder, which in turn adds "teeth" to their copyright.
