glad you liked it here in SF!!! and also glad you've been to the best parts of it but it has its bad parts. and when i say bad, it's FILTHY. haha! haight is the the hippie central. so sad i didnt get to see you when you were here though.
Hey Lorraine It's Ashley again You should come down to Sacramento there are cool old 1800 town here and that's where I live we could sooo meet up and shop or get food or whatever let me know. San Fran is only 80 miles away from Sacramento not that far by car. I know Sacramento so I can take you all over and show you the sweetest places!!!
im sorry but you sound really ignorant. maybe your feet wouldnt hurt and you wouldnt be cold if you did any research on sf and the weather and how to get around before you decided to visit.
SF is beautiful.. i love it. wish you'd cut out all the time you were bitching and complaining.. you really show a bad side of you that's unpleasant to hear
Hi Lorraine. Sorry for the random question. We're thinking of coming over to Florida from the UK, for a two week holiday in September. Good weather and a beach at close proximity are essential :). As I've not been to the US before, which area would you recommend to stay in, preferably not too far from an airport? K xx
check out the castro district and you should go to san jose too and berkeley! driving in san francisco is a bitch. better walk and wear running shoes.
Lorraine, you should definitely go to Valencia Street in the Mission district for the shops, art galleries, cafes, bars, food, and people! Also, on Sunday, Aug. 1st 11-7 there's a renegade craft faire at Fort Mason Center worth checking out for all the indie art, jewelry & goods.
I love SFO!!! I went there for my 13th birthday a couple months ago and we stayed in the Parc 55 hotel :) Have an awesome time! Also, I have a question...I know you live in Florida so I thought you might know. My grandparents are thinking about moving to The Villages for half of the year and I was wondering if there are any good shopping places around that area...I'm guessing they wont be very close considering The Villages is like a retirement/old person thing but a drivable distance is fine :)
It's kind of rude to ask where people get their money. She OBVIOUSLY works... we see it enough in her video. And if her family has the money, so what? They can do whatever they want with it.
Lorraine!! My husband and I are driving to Miami and we are stopping in your area for a few days! I'd really like to stop by the store... and i'd also like to schedule you to have a photoshoot with my husband. He is a fashion photographer:)
You should go see the Full House house.. lol. One of my good friends lived across the street from it for a few years. Not anymore, though.
You should come back to NY and we'll meet up and go shopping. And then when we get tired of dealing with people (each other), we can go our separate ways. The end.
the only reason i ever look at forever 21 is when i can't spend much and iwant some off the shoulder shirts or batwing type shirts and i can't afford free people or anthropologie or anything on shopbop or singer22, etc

You could go to one of the Korean spas and get one of their exfoliation treatments. I've never been but I hear they are fabulous. They leave you with perfectly fresh soft new skin from head to toe.
soak ur feet in some water with lavender oil, olive oil n u can even put a lil Cetaphil. After, dry ur feet n rub them with some Vaseline or lotion. Ur feet will feel NEW!! :) (trust me, been there!!!) good luck
wow, that's so weird they're wearing jackets in July!!! i went to San Fran so many years ago and i only remember the crazy Lombard street. if you remember the TV show Full House, they used SF as their backdrop!
I thought the public transit was safe and friendly there? :) Okay so now I think you will like Portland the best lol. The dog friendly place, you'll have to see if that is true about people bringing their dogs everywhere.
Definitely do not drive, but it's a must to take public transportation. Heels really do not work in SF, so that is why people flop around in sandles, but many people think it is gross to wear flip flops in SF.
I think you would like the Westfield Mall. It's a new construction and it has a European feel to it. They have Bloomingdales, zara, max mara, and other nice stores in there. You might enjoy it because the food court is one of the biggest and nicest food quality ever, unlike other malls.
Awwww, I feel so bad for you!!! I remembered the first time I went there I wore I tank top with short shorts. And I had to buy a whole new outfit lol. The bus tour sounds like a good idea.
When I vacation in SF we usually take a taxi everywhere. But then again that's just for staying in the city. If you plan on going out of the city, that would be pretty pricey.
Public transportation is easy in San Francisco. Muni, BART, cable cars, and buses. Reasonably priced passes are for sale a few blocks off Union Sq. at the cable car terminus (Powell St.). The passes include the cable cars which are expensive otherwise. Your hotel should be able to help with info. on bus routes.
Where did you get the travel sized Cetaphil cleanser??? That's the only cleanser I can use because my skin is super sensitive and it's such a pain in the ass to travel with because I've never been able to find travel sizes of Cetaphil products!
Where did you get the travel size Cetaphil cleanser? That's the only cleanser I can use and it's a pain in the ass to travel with because I have never found travel sizes of it.
"I actually tried on shoes and I see blood in between my toes and stuff. Like, that's attractive. And so, if I didn't get the shoes I would look like a jackass trying on shoes, 'cause my feet are all bloody." AHAHAHAHA. Lorraine, you say THE funniest things sometimes!
Hey Lorraine! I was wondering what brand your Round Brush is?? I believe it's the one my hairdresser uses on me and I always forget to ask what brand it is. I love it!
You should wear sneakers or buy some shoes with some support - or at least sufficient cushion. The switch to flats or those sandals you bought won't do you any favors.
check our Sausalito or TIbouron, two of the nicest places to go just to relax! There are no chain stores/restaurants in the two cities, which makes for quite a nice place to go
I wonder if the author's of the books who said to walk actually walked the city or what. It will bust your butt/calves. I don't think it's insane to drive if one place is way across the city from your hotel. I know plenty of people who live and work there... and they all own a car and drive to work every day.
GO TO HAIGHT AND ASHBURY STREET! They havee good tattoo shops, and vintage stufff. It's the most famous/historical area. Also visit castro street, really fun and friendly gay community...best hair places there!
I live in SF and if you come from somewhere where you use a car daily.... then it isn't a good place to visit if you aren't prepared to walk A LOT. Only insane people and taxi drivers use cars in SF..oh and tourists haha
I can't believe you walked to all places... from Downtown to Hayes Valley to Haight and to Fillmore/ J Town? Wow, you're a trooper! You just have to find a local to drive you around the city. Ppl that live in the city either only drive everywhere or only take public transportation.
Take a taxi crazy girl! If for nothing else take one to get back to the hotel!. Take one if you go to the gardens or museum tomorrow. I'm enjoying your trip. :)
check out sausalito..you can take the fairy there its really cute and a little warmer...or you can also go to golden gate park theres a ton of stuff there the Academy of Science..botanical gardens a ton of stuff or you can visit the zoo if you like the animals...its small but cute...have fun in my city Lorraine....i hope i see you around here..=0)
@Shopaholicanonymous1 I agree, I call it "cute town". It is small, really pretty and has a lot of boutiques and ice cream stores!!!! It is directly on the other side of the golden gate bridge.
I used to live in sf and i had to walk everywhere and it sucked and it sucked even more because it is cold there almost year round. if you take the bus there are weird smelly people always on it. i recommend vacationing there, but not living there.
u need a gud pair of walking or running shoes!!!!!! Get stylish ones if u can...but seriously speaking, u'll damage ur feet at this rate :( take care!
it's hard to drive in san francisco! BUT, there are so many hills its tiring. I always walk around union square and do all my shopping then take a taxi to the far places..works perfect!
glad you liked it here in SF!!! and also glad you've been to the best parts of it but it has its bad parts. and when i say bad, it's FILTHY. haha! haight is the the hippie central. so sad i didnt get to see you when you were here though.

I live in SF and if you come from somewhere where you use a car daily.... then it isn't a good place to visit if you aren't prepared to walk A LOT. Only insane people and taxi drivers use cars in SF..oh and tourists haha

You must've been in the Haight/Ashbury district. You should go to the coffee shop with the big blue genie over it. Best coffee place.

I can't believe you walked to all places... from Downtown to Hayes Valley to Haight and to Fillmore/ J Town? Wow, you're a trooper! You just have to find a local to drive you around the city. Ppl that live in the city either only drive everywhere or only take public transportation.

Soak your feet in Epsome salts. It helps, promise!! Did that after walking down the Vegas strip in 6 inch heels for hours.

@Shopaholicanonymous1 I agree, I call it "cute town". It is small, really pretty and has a lot of boutiques and ice cream stores!!!! It is directly on the other side of the golden gate bridge.

and you can't own a car there because it is expensive to have one, parking is expensive and it is hard to find.

I used to live in sf and i had to walk everywhere and it sucked and it sucked even more because it is cold there almost year round. if you take the bus there are weird smelly people always on it. i recommend vacationing there, but not living there.

it's hard to drive in san francisco! BUT, there are so many hills its tiring. I always walk around union square and do all my shopping then take a taxi to the far places..works perfect!
