I remember Mr Rhee very well, I was doing Tae Kwon Do in Fairwater Bishop Hannan school. Our Instructor was Bert Sorry don't know how to spell his second name, I think it was Cullanda or Callandar .He was from the RAF fast guy. My name Is Roy Colley, and I remember Mr Rhee Asking me when I was getting married as my GF Annette Jones was also doing it also, He wanted to come to our Wedding. I was forced to give up after 4yrs 2 months before I was going for my Black Belt.As I had spinal problems
I met him also in 1986..loved his big old sunglasses. Not as rude as Hee Il Cho though, but ruder than Jong Soo Park. Saw General Choi twice but didn't get introduced, so can't place him on the ' Korean Master's Rude-o-meter'.
I had the pleasure of meeting and training under GM Rhee in Ireland in 2002 at an ITF Instructor Training Course. He was very nice to me and the rest of the class. An incredible man he is. I will cherish that moment. I never got to meet Gen. Choi in my TKD career, so meeting GM Rhee to me was the next best thing.
nice or not, this is about his ability. He's the person that brought Taekwon-Do to the UK, i have mutual respect for the first promoted grandmaster of Taekwon-Do, he can be as mean to me as he wants!
