I started listening to these guys back when they realeased their self titled album, I wasn't too sure about the "pass out of existence" or "this present darkness" albums,

Chimaira caught my attention with implements of destruction and that album kick some major ass.

When I first heard "infection" I wasn't really pleased, I thought Chimaira lost their "original" BADASS feel.

However, after listening to it a few more times, I do like this album.

IMO, best song on the album. KICKS MAJOR ASS!!!

This song brings out so much more talent and technicality than what chimaira fans are used to, which shows a lot of integrity within the group. i loved this song so much that i learnt it and played it infront of a huge audience, (only the clean intro thought.) and because it was me playing they all expected heavy dirty riffs. But i think they were pleasently surprised

The intro is more along the lines of Shadows Fall, and the rest of it reminds me more of Marc Rizzo from Soulfly. Look up the song Kilocycle Interval, its by Marc Rizzo. Both Rizzo and Chimaira run circles around Metallica. They're good for what they do, but all that is is cheap mainstream thrash-rock. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett have only two sounds. Those two sounds are Soft, and Annoying. Listen to Master of Puppets for an hour on repeat. You'll understand.
