@KGMDMusic you do realise that Gary has Aspergers Syndrome, so he has trouble communicating and being confronted. I also have this disorder, which can be a real fucking pain in the arse.
They are so under rated becuase most Numan fans, only focus on his albums up to Warriors, and nowadays the kids are too big into shit music like Marilyn Manson and HollyWood Undead, to focus and find a real musician.
@thismachinebreakdown Don't get carried away,Gary is no great musician.I have met him on many occasions and he is pretty arrogant and ducks questions.Being a writer myself I asked him about why he said it took him 2 hours to create the sound for the song Voix when it is a preset on the Roland D50.he just did his usual and went off and chatted to a sickofantic fan.
I just love the "time to die" moment in Blade Runner. Gary Numan captures the essence of the moment and strengthens it, transforms it into 4 minutes of pure musical brilliance.
\ And I have seen sadness And I have seen time run out I've even seen men cry It's all lost to me now Like tears in the rain And my memories I can't give them away So it's easy Like a long long sleep I'm so tired Now it's my time to die Welcome home Welcome home
Probally his best b side and ballad. Always will be my favriote, those lyrics are so beautiful. If i had to pick a song for when death comes knocking on my door, I guess this would be it.
Excellent track, this was the best from Strange Charm, to me.
Iron Maiden was also very infleunced from Blade Runner, and used a sample from the movie as their intro to the Somewhere in Time tour, just as Numan sampled parts of the movie in call Out the Dogs
That's true. I'm glad someone atleast knows 'Iron Maiden' while listening to Numan's Blade RUnner material. Somewhere in Time, was their best record and I loved that Blade Runner intro on the tour.
Time to Die is one of Numan's best songs indeed. based on the film and book Blade Runner, the sax and guitars make this track worth every second of it.
Theres live versions floating around of this aswell, it was played live along with God Only Knows on the Metal Rhythm tour, and I think also Machine + Soul. Sounded just as good live as this does.
Time to Die was track 6 on the cassette version of Strange Charm. Why it was left off the vinyl and cd versions I will never know. it's too good of a song to be forgotten.
These are the UK Bonus tracks, took me a long time to get a hold of. The US bonus tracks has extended mixes of I Can't Stop and New Thing From London Town. I have yet to find those.
Perhaps one of the best most overlooked songs by Numan. I absolutley loved this one. It was on the cassette issue of Strange Charm too if I remember correctly.

This was somewhere in the cassette version of Strange Charm, like track 5 or 6. It's wierd that it was left off of the cd release.

No exhibition
No screaming war songs
No conversation
No more opinions here
And I have seen new wars
And I have seen things
That you wouldn't believe
And I have seen my days
It's all lost to me now
Like tears in the rain

I agree it wouldve been more successful with This is Love as the b side, and this the main single of Strange Charm

I'd buy the reissues just for this one song.
