I don't think in terms of race, I either find them attractive or not, and I suspect women are the same way. Question. So about a year ago, I met this Asian guy who's a sushi chef. And he invited me to go to go to the restuarant he worked at. I showed up there about two months later. And so we started talking, and then he invited me to meet up with him and I did several times and we talked and had fun but after about a year, I didn't see him taking any steps to a closer "relationship" so I stopped coming for a few months. Could there have been a reason for his not taking any further steps?

It's really endearing to a man who speaks another language as his first language to learn that language. It shows you are taking interest in him. While some may not care one way or another, he would prefer you like Korean more simply because he is Korean (plus there is a lot of animosity between Japan and Korea...ask him about Dokdo). But then I asked myself, WHY?

Heather I feel the pain of trying to get closer..but nothing and that horrible feeling of is it me?? but rejection happens and it could be they are taken already. where I live there are almost no asian males either. My boyfriend of 2 years is Korean-American. ALSO, topic change, I speak mostly Japanese, but am learning Korean too. @Peganpoetry Hey - it has nothing to do with him thinking you're going to talk to Japanese guys. It's really endearing to a man who speaks another language as his first language to learn that language. It shows you are taking interest in him. While some may not care one way or another, he would prefer you like Korean more simply because he is Korean (plus there is a lot of animosity between Japan and Korea...ask him about Dokdo). I just talk to a girl like writing an essay. The approach is hard... alcohol will loosen that up, plus it's a good excuse. First, the intro...just say "Hi, my name is_____, what's your name? Then listen and watch her reaction, if she didn't brush you off, ask her where she from, who's she with, and build on that conversation. The best closing my buddy taught me was "We should hang out sometime", it's direct without being pushy.

@lamina198 Obviously my braces were temporary, the hairstyle was to cover up a bad cut performed by my little sister and I just am geeky by nature. I also have no trouble getting Asian men and actually went on a date the night before that taping. I'm currently in a fulfilling relationship with a different Asian man.
And I did have a lot of insecurities at the time since I had just broken up with a long term boyfriend of 2 1/2 years (also Asian). But your opinion is valid - have a nice day ;)

all these tips and tricks don't work. it all depends in the person, all people no matter what color have their flavor of the opposite sex, some have a strong perticular flavor some not as strong. but all those tips that tricks will only work if the white girl is into to you. you can be the hottest asian guy and if that girl is not into asians or at least open to dating asians then all those tips and tricks will not work.

I'd tap that!" yet in terms of long term they end up getting with an asian woman. nigahiga is one of them if you watch his vids. Need to have more and more of these websites. These websites really filter out the people who mustn't be here, like asian women and white men. It has already given a clear mandate as to who asian men and white women are looking for on these websites.........each other. Never heard of these AMWF websites promoting dating until the last few years. Good job, keep it up. You can learn how to read subtle signs (that's one of the many things that JT teaches), but ultimately it's your job to approach the woman. Always will be. If you can't, then you need to learn how. personally from what ive observed in the society around me both men and women make the first move. some men are more active in a relationship while some women are the more active. i think both men and women should be encouraged to pursue what the want to obtain. here's my reason for why, because otherwise they will lead a very frustrating and unfulfillable love life (especially if they are physically less appealing than others).

@sonnetxi No they don't. We're biologically and evolutionarily programmed to do so. Women dress up in order to atttract mates and men are supposed to go out and hunt. As JT says, "Women are the gatekeepers to sex, but men are the gatekeepers to relationships." That's the division of power. The fact is, if you keep on insisting on women making the 1st move, you'll never be super successful with women as you'll get leftovers and 2nd place. Either man up or learn how. But that's why we're here ;)

@AsianManWhiteWoman no, first, you didnt really explain why all women and do and should wait for the man to make the first move. if the reason is that they are "biologically and evolutionarily programmed to do so" i would say instead the are biologically evolved in this way due to social constructs. for example in premodern society there are a set of ideologies upheld by the ruling class (dominated by men) to keep the female population in submission -->

UUUUGGGG I hate that Heather. I have had a few guys come up to me AFTER i am seeing or talking to someone, or tell me through someone else, they have had a crush on me for a long time. GRRRR... when i guy does not approach me, i feel like I have done something to offend him. I think guys think that women are going to over react to them... Women dont do that... little girls do.
