I stayed at the Shangra-La last month, what a wonderful place. The sound of the river is very relaxing.
You are allowed to walk through other people's mining claims, btw. You can hunt/fish on them, ski on them, hike through them. You just can't extract any minerals! Which is what the signs meant when they said no panning, no sluicing, etc.
The Jim Crow Creek has a great mining history to it. You could see some tailings piles at 11:20 - that means it was an old mining site.
That is a very beautiful place out there. California sure has a lot of nice places. Too bad there gun laws stink, I wouldn't think they'd even let tannerite into the state. Great video my friends, looked like an awesome time. God bless.
@fumasterchu12 There are a lot of nice places around were we live. But yes are gun laws get harder as years go by here. Yes it is legal 100% in all states. We had a great time thanks for watching.
Yea man review your pack and what you would carry in it. I like gear videos a lot. I plan on doing one on my day pack soon. Great video man. You all take care!
@SuperSetCA Thanks bro. Just is just below Lake Tahoe. It is in the Tahoe Nation forest but the TNF runs all over. Are you in Nor CA. Or so Ca. cant reamber.
@sparky1sc We did have the place to our self. In the summer the place is packed. But the cool thing is that the cabins are well spaced out. Your welcome glad you liked it:)

@pk1225 It is one great place iam glad you liked out video. Gold rush days of the mid 1800's.
Gold was discovered on Jim Crow creek, right here at Shangri-La
Panning for gold in the Yuba and tributaries
is a popular and frequently profitable outdoor activity.
Over $300,000,000 in gold has been taken from the ground
in Sierra County.
Yet, this area is considered one of the best
undeveloped mineral regions
in the West. Hunting and fish is allowed on BLM land. Or Fish and Game.
