  • Sooooooo this is what Shaun does in his free time playing with chimps starting his own country avoiding awkward situations and accidentally starting a cult.......well that's just fantuckinfastic

  • one word. UNBELIEVABLE

  • Danny Wallace is an "animal researcher" now?

  • That's so awesome to think that we are apes too. He was playing so naturally with Khanze xD.

  • thumbs up if you are thinking about monkeys and chimps these day

  • One of the most incredible things I have ever seen.

  • Shaun, you

  • holy fuck...

  • aww Danny Playing with a Bonobo is kinda cute~

  • this is so amazing, it can hardly be put into words...easily one of the most interesting videos ive seen on youtube

it makes sense that since we are so close genetically to these guys, we should at least be able to communicate on a level that's somewhat greater than rudimentary...it would be completely astounding if a system was developed one day that allowed you to have a somewhat meaningful conversation with another great ape

  • I envy bonobos!

  • Men think about sex every 6 seconds.

Bonobos get laid every 6 seconds.

    Man 0 - Bonobo 1

  • COOOL

  • What the heck is that big fleshy thing on the female?

  • @SamosIMP

    It's called an ass!

  • Shaun, you're not supposed to be here.

  • @blinkyreadsbooks They have a great life, probably better than what they would have in the wild! Dont be so quick to judge this study where they've actually gave the apes an education.

  • if u want to see that go to any mlk blvd of any major city in the us and u will get what u pay for

  • I've seen her documentary Susan's awsome

  • lol! look at 1:12 through 1:13 trust me its funny!

  • Really again, im gobsmacked.

  • I produced tears watching this, never seen this. This is extraordinary. A real somewhat detailed conversation between a human and a bonobo.

    Im going to share this,

Who knows, perhaps in 20years we have apes running in our society.

  • this is by far the most incredible evolution proof i have ever seen!!!

chimps are missing 2 things; collective learning and an understandable language. and they could even be more superior than humans are!!!

    amazing...

  • I remember this being one of the worst presented horizons ever.

  • "Well I've never seen that before"

What the hell was that pink thing!? It's vagina!!!!??? Or It's utter!!!!????

  • @IsolationInstigation

It was the ass. That's what most ape and monkey asses look like. During the mating season, they flare up tenfold and change into different colors to attract the males.

  • Fading lights: That would be human justice, wouldn't it?

  • Batflapers, I believe that our 'more advanced' language and other mental abilities do not give us the right to lord it over the rest of life on this planet or anywhere else, let alone 'study' other animlas' mental processes by forcing them to live in unnatural circumstances and measuring their intelligence on our own scale.

  • @monicassels

If people like you rules the world we'd be the ones in the cage

  • I understand your reasoning, Paula, but still feel that as long as we are unable to communicate with other species in THEIR languages, but have to resort to teaching THEM to use some form of ours, our understanding of their mental processes will be deficient and conditioned by our way of thinking.

  • Three sum?

  • Holy shit Chimp porn

  • Clever chimps, learning to communicate with humans in human language and gestures! So where does that put their human handlers, who can't take the trouble to even try to learn to communicate with them in their language? Bunch of swollen-headed, callous imbeciles!

  • @monicassels Ape body language is almost the same as ours. And our spoken language is more flexible. That's why Kanzi uses a lexogram.

  • @monicassels because our language is more advanced?

  • Well shit, they could run a register at Mcdonalds.

  • I saw something like this with Alan Alda as the host. Still fascinating.

  • 1:12 WTF???? Did we just see an after monkey penis lez out???? And whats with the shaking of the bit?

  • Shaun -w-

  • people should consintrate at many useful things than these stupid experments

what we get from these ideas is ........bull$hit

they just want to get money from the governements by acting like animals

    poor these people

  • @Turkawi4ever Apparently they aren't spending enough money, as they still haven't figured out a way to convince people that they are animals too. Though that should've been obvious a long time ago. The Sumerians even got that one right.

  • i love when he just looks over and nodss

  • i wonder wat happens if chimps got introduced to marijuana haha

  • Hey! He's Shaun Hastings in Assassin's Creed!

  • Who taught the monkeys how to do threesome?;)

  • @MostCommonName1 chimps arent monkeys lol 0_o

  • How are we alike? Humans fight over sex mates and territory. Humans destroy everything where they live like a parasite. Humans want to have more power then everybody else ( AKA Governments ) and make everyone else slaves. Human females only love the alpha male ( The boss ). Humans are hairy like apes. Humans want to remain free and do whatever they please ( Like a wild animal ).

  • @PrivateDmitry In your comment you forgot to mention, humans and animals have the same Rights.

  • i really hate danny wallace

  • hehe, it's cute watching Danny playing with the chimp :)

  • Pretty damn cool :-)

  • Basically what this woman is saying is that if you took a binobo from birth and raised it like a child it would be able to function, speak, walk, act identical to a human? I find that very hard to believe.

  • @altoid2k4 she's not saying identical... when you take what she says and modify it into a weaker statement in order to attack it, it's called "attacking a strawman" maybe you don't do it on purpose... but if you want to develop your logical thinking, you should try to understand logical fallacies and try to avoid using them... listen carefully to what she is saying, and don't modify it... and then you'll be able to judge if you believe what she said... not what you wanted her to say

  • LOOOL "many human like things" then they start having sex...

  • I don't like the word "wild". It's like "ooohh a wild animal, you don't know what a wild animal might do, they're wild!!!!". The "wild animals" are far more "civilized" than civilized people are. An animal is an animal, humans included.

There is no such thing as "wild animals", just human fools and animals they are taking advantage of.

  • the definition of animal is fucking idiotic

definition 1:A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia

definition 2:An animal other than a human

thats like saying the word love can mean 1. to deeply enjoy someone or 2. to hate someone

  • this is interesting and all, but ew gross, chimp threesomes

  • It is biological for an ape to want to mate just like it is for us humans. Only difference is that we humans dont get locked up in a room with 2 other humans for the rest of our lives. This threesome or whatever it was is something that would not normally happen if they lived in their own environment with their "tribe" so to speak.

  • @ZoldierrZzz Chimps don't do that, but Binobos bonk all the time. The only taboo they have is mother-son.

  • @ZoldierrZzz this hypothesis was raised at some point: whether they were over-reacting sexually as a result of their captivity...but then scientists observed the same kind of sexual behavior while they were observing them in the wild... new hypothesis please :P

  • awwwwwww....you so lucky Danny....ummmm...by the way...1:13 O_O.....that is soooooo wrong....i've never seen that either....

  • Comment removed

  • I love these guys, but I can't understand what's going on with their genitalia. Lol.

  • They are people. Like Dolphins and elephants, chimps and whales. Non human persons.

  • they can "get" very basic concepts because they have a developed brain and a lot of the same sensory tools we do. But they still aren't where man was a million years ago, probably not even our earliest ancestors 5 million years ago where the lines split between man and chimp

  • rofl 1:00 threeway!

  • holy shit

  • it wont be long before the dumbest of people start complaining about the possibility of bonobos taking over their jobs or some such

  • @eyhexs THEY TUK R JUUUUUUBS

  • I suppose, technically he is researching animals here but Danny Wallace is a humourist and journalist. The description is misleading.

  • i saw a monkey driving to work in a car this morning...freaky...

  • Comment removed

  • these are amazing animals, it just shows that we arent the only intelligent animals out there, and that we're not as superior as we think. we can learn a thing or two from them

  • Wow, that's amazing stuff.

  • I'd be careful if I were him that monkey might be smarter then him cause he doesn't know there hole language.

  • people must get over it...we are monkey like birds are dinosaurs

  • @raven010891 umm no we're not. Monkey's are insanely intelligent. They have thumbs, very similar to humans.

  • remarkable creatures.

  • @santi512 lol the other monkey was like "hey! get your own hoe! I love this bitch!"

  • omg the bonobos were having a threesome haha

  • if they got more omega 3 they would be as smart as us.

  • Very cool to watch but then slightly less cool when you realise that we've been communicating with dogs for ages...

Who hasn't seen a dog who can give you its paw on command or when told to retrive a stick? Who hasn't had a dog invite you to play?... Dogs don't even need speech boards!

  • Not even close. But it's obvious what you're trying to do here...

  • I don't need to try, I'm just making a point. It sounds revolutionary because it is being done with an animal we haven't see do it before... but we do far more with a dog.

BTW what am I trying to do?

  • yeah but the dog is doing it for the reward where as kanzi is doing it because he understands how to comunicate for things he wants so it is spontaneus whereas the dog is impulse!

  • I'm confused by what you say.

Dog doing something for a reward

    does not equal

Chimp doing something to obtain what it wants

    ?

They sound the same, do they not?

  • You obviously haven't met my Alsation, Leela. She can communicate better than some humans I know.

  • Well isn't that what language is? Words with an asigned meaning. It doesn't matter what the word is to humans it only matters what meaning you have taught the dog.

Associating words with objects/actions, just like here.

  • renaldoxx- Perhaps you are underestimating. There is plenty of research and evidence counter to your claims. In fact, you should look up 'Chimpanzee Memory Test' right here on Youtube and watch. Without doubt, Chimps do have some capacity for creative/cognitive thinking. In fact, the test performed in the clip would prove to be very difficult even for a human with exceptional intelligence. As for language comprehension, the best evidence is the film about Koko the gorilla. Check it out.

  • before we know it chimps might evolve a voice box and be able to speak and then maybe even later on i might be able to enjoy a pint with a chimp

  • If we gave them omega 3.

  • What would be the point? We can do that now with an African Grey Parrot.

  • wtf 1:00?

  • Dude this vid gave me chills. It's like a minor but significant discovery!

  • A chimp was raised with a human child once, in the end the human child began to exhibit chimpanzee-like behaviour and the experiment ceased.

Look it up, it's quite interesting.

  • lol the lady said "they can do many human like things" and then right when she said that the 2 chimps started fucking doggie style.....hahahahahaha

  • That chimp is smarter than 99% of creationists!

  • Of course. It so easy to see how they are related to us. this vid is really cool

  • and 100% of evolutionists :P

  • @lerch60 Proof that a bigger brain is only correlated with intelligence, and doesnt create intelligence per se

  • @lerch60 A pet rock is smarter than a creationist...........oh shit I gotta go, my pet rock just peed all over the carpet!

  • @lerch60 You made a mistake in your calculations, you missed of 1%

  • wow, i want a baby chimp so I can raize him :D

  • LMAO @ that shit hanging from the monkey's ass

  • Get a dog. They love Humans, are great listeners, interact 100%, and aren't endangered.

    Honestly, people....

  • This is so amazing, the way that chimp interacted with the human blew me away

  • We are already living on the planet of the apes. Humans are great apes along with chimps, gorillas, orangutans, and bonobos. To ignore the DNA evidence is just sheer stupidity.

  • I know, science has a great deal to discover. but it has explained so much already.

  • OMG we are preparing for the planet of the apes?

  • 1:00 DP

    HOT HOT HOT

  • LOL. No it's not. I choose my bitches not they choose me.

  • amazing video

  • look at the vagina on that one. holy shit.

  • @Nossednoob

    Those are Balls...

  • Hmmm.....the Hungarian translation of Genesis must read a little differently than the English.

  • i was jokin

  • So was I ;)

  • who a load of bullshit. youre fucking retarded.

  • So you beleive 6 billion people came from 2? really?

  • DUH/??????? how the fuck else we get here animals come from 2 aswell

  • Great vid. Maybe we treat bonobos and chimps like our mentally slow cousins...

BTW the bonobos at 1:00 are getting their freak on something funny...

  • kanzi for republican nominee for president in '12 :)

  • All Nazi-styled eugenicists possess expertise as to which people are worthy candidates for parenthood. In "zoologist" Jane Goodall's eyes the decision as to whether you are worthy to have children is hers.

  • you get absolutely no bitches, have fun being lonely

  • i agree we sould get one ape and treat him like every other human and see if he fits in soecity. If he dosent wait till evolution makes them be able to live with us. Either way i think some day in the future not the close future but the future anyway that humans will live side be side with apes.

  • It won't fit in, but it might be able to act like a human like us. but i don't think we will ever live by side with apes.

  • yeawere to evolved they wont be able to catch up.

  • Just because we want to believe we are special we choose to ignore the weight of history, but only patience will tell you that millions of years of evolution makes us what we are - another breed of animal.

Religion doesn't hold the answers. It makes us use our brain. Religion can even force us to understand the origins of our species -such is the push and shove of humans, a migratory species that adapts very well.

So far, recording events has done us proud, so lets keep studying to be smart.

  • some of these people's sentence structure is about as developed as Koko the gorilla's.

  • Hey... Whom Ever..... The Ape that tore off the womans face in the US.... So called tamed etc.. sorry God.... hands... total face gone... why? Cause of a so called pet... Jesus....

  • I agree with you about the ripping off face chimp, however... that's not a chimp, that is a Bonobo. A relation to the chimp where the behavior is quite dramatically different. Females are dominant and they are not prone to violent displays, the males stick around home, the females wander to other clans when they come of age. Chimps don't do that, they don't give up their females and will bludgeon and or murder another clan for territory disputes.

  • Studies into man and apes, chimps to be more precis, has recently gone to new levels. Not only have we found hard evidence we are related in our genomes by 99%, we share the same viral imperfections in our DNA, and the chances of this being a fluke of us sharing these viral conditions are trillions to one. Chimps can plan, they feel emotion, love, sex/affection, they are spiritual beings and I for one am glad to be related to them than that of an imaginary being.

    Great vid.

  • I would never go so far as to say they are spiritual but I will go do far as to say we can appreciate them more because we have the capacity to learn more about them in ways they can't.

  • Hi,

When I say spiritual Chimps in the wild have been seen doing rain dances, just like many human tribes. There is no doubt we share the same ancestor.

  • If you think this is all gibberish, why do you think scientists would spend billions of dollars to further our knowledge, and push technological advances?

Why do you think wealthy and highly educated people donate to the sciences if it was all "bogus"?

I feel sorry for you if you have such superstitious beliefs that inhibit you from thinking about the bigger picture.

  • Ko252 - you're making some awfully brave statements in your argument. 'Proven' - really? We know a lot less about language than you're making out we do. O and by the way, big words a better argument do not make, y'know?

  • wow, you people are crazy... but if you think about it... we wouldn't have any of the science or technology that we have today if it weren't for people that were crazy before their discoveries... if apes are like humans - in this way - then we won't be far off between the" planet of the apes' becomes earth

  • incredible!

  • wow, awesome vid, really liked it :D

  • Hey guys, 8th grade called, stupid Youtube argument will have to be put on hold.

  • a bad one. try again.

  • I WILL RAISE YOU A HUMAN CHIMP! Lol.... except.... umm... they seem to get to know each other in a certain way that I'm not to cool with sharing.

  • You damned dirty apes :)

    This is an amazing video.

  • The main dfrnce between apes and human is our ability to teach. Apes are capable of being just as sofisticated as humans because we teach them to be,but the odd thing is,apes do not teach other apes, they can only copy what other apes do. Sure an ape can get a really primative idea, like using sticks as wepons, but they do not teach, other apes, thats why they dont progess like humans. i think if we were to domesticate apes and teach them everything we know, sure they can be classified as people.

  • I'v allway's wanted to meet some wild Ape's and teach them how to make fire and use machete's & AK47's then see if they understand the practical aplication.

  • we have other differences as well, like our ability to speak/write (better communication).

  • we'll they dont speak or write "human" because they arenot, duh! can you speak or understand chimp? also, look at it this way..if you met a chinese person, that didnt speak your language, your communication skills with him would be on par with a chimp, until you could be taught chinese, much as a chimp can be taught to understand/communicate of human language

  • 1. "we'll they dont speak or write "human" because they arenot, duh!" What is speaking or writing human? Speaking (making sounds) and writing (using symbols to communicate) is ability chimps also inhibit, but we are better at it. 2. Your point with the chinese person, is also wrong. You have other communications skills as well, as body language.

  • 3. One's ability to pick up and communicate are grounded in our brain. So the reason they cant communicate in same manner as us, is because they are not that developed.

  • We'll im havingg a difficult time communicating with you so i will keep this brief..there is much research on web about communicating with chimps and if you take some time out and look, you will see they have a very good understanding of human language..in fact there is gorrillas and chimps that have been taught sign language and can communicate with humans doing so.their anatomy isnot constructed to produce human sounds, yet their brain understands the communication process totally

  • so with your reason also, you are saying that a human born without a tongue,or that is born deaf or whatever, isnot a developed to be a communicator with other humans?Wrong, they can use sign language, read lips, read brail, draw pictures,etc..just like the other primates chimps, gorrillas, etc they are only inhibited in their communication skills by vocal skills which cannot exist due to the anatomy, same difference Einstein!

  • 1. born without a tongue....has nothing to do with communicating skills.

    2. deafness the 2 first lliving years has been proven to decrease the iq. a inner language is crucial to develop normal iq, and with lower iq, the communication skills also decreases.

So, your example is wrong. Our good communication skills is adnexed to our higher intelligence, and is crucial for our success as a specie.

  • alright arguing with you is pointless like the empty statements you reply with. All i can say,you were taught well to think "inside the box" .We'll think what you want about humans and animals, but the reality is humans are just animals,mammals-primates,that somehow through their thought process and b.s. belief systems believe they are separate and somehow better or more advanced..couldnot be farther from the truth..but believe what you want.

  • "alright arguing with you is pointless like the empty statements you reply with." The same thing apply to you. What's further clear, is that you lack basic knowledge of neurobiology and -physiology. "inside the box"...pure b.s. Yes, we're animals, but that is not the point. The point is that our brain is different, more evolved you might say. for instance... (conti)

  • the parietal cortex is more evolved, as well the "band of language" from brocas to wernick. Further on, our prefrontal cortex is also more developed, which is said to be one areas primarily responsible for our intellect. These are differences between us and the chimps, that gives us an advantage. This doesnt mean that we're not animals, but we have an evolutionary advantage. Seriously, read about this matter before you write.

  • No seriously douchebag, review the argument before you bring in pointless points. The original argument was that you said they are animals and were just taught to do this as if no thought process was going on in their brains to the communication process. How humans and chimps differ physically, internally isnot the issue, ofcourse we differ, duh! If you think humans are the only animals to have a thought out communication process you are as arrogant as youre ignorant, get you head out of physiology book

  • By calling me a douchebag, you just prove my point that you're an ignorant fool, that tends to use such word, since you've got nothing noteworthy to say. And that's just pathetic.

Regarding my original arguments, you're once again wrong, and trying to put words into my mouth. I havnt said that chimps dont communicate or they cant think, but that OUR BRAIN IS BETTER IN DOING SUCH. But of course, you're not smart enought to understand this fact.

  • further on, while human language can be independed of body language, the language chimps use are not. Many factors confluate, and thereby making it advance communication method. But they cant write nor speak in the same manner as we do. And regarding our differences, it has everything do with this. Our communication skills are totally based on our brain. And regarding getting my head out of a physiology book, I would recommend you to actually read a book. Then maybe you would know this matter.

  • Still got it all wrong Ko252,you are actually a douchebag...

  • better than being a total fool and an ignorant like yourself.

  • Not too sure about that,a douchebag is pretty low on the ladder of life...wear it proud though,douchebag...

  • "Not too sure about that,a douchebag is pretty low on the ladder of life"you're too good to be true....hahahahaha

Still, it's better to a be douchebag, than an ignorant fool as yourself. And for the future, stop participating in discussions, since it's embarrasing to see you make an ass of yourself. Have a nice life, fool. :)

  • this is the funniest argument iv eva seen on youtube hes a ignorant fool and your a douchbag so true!!

  • ty. i am glad we were able to amuse you.

  • totaly on ur side of the argument though, our communication is wat got us to such social societys and empires across the world
