No...NBC didn't say only 4 teams were competing...they said prior to the rotation involving U.S., Romania, Russia, & Ukraine...China and Belarus had already competed.

No I am not. The teams who made it to the Team Optionals were Ukraine, Romania, Russia, and the U.S. I know I'm right because I live in Atlanta and my mom and sister went to the Team Optionals.
All 12 teams competed both compulsories and optionals. They were divided up into sessions, with the US, Ukraine, Romania, and Russia in the final session.
Besides, Kui Yuanyuan didn't even qualify to the AA because she didn't compete on every event.
Um actually you are WRONG!!!! There were TWO sessions in the team finals China competed in the first session because they finished 5th after compulseries! So maybe you shouldn't be so quick to correct people who know what they are talking about.
You went to team FINALS, which included the top 4 teams. All 12 teams did optional routines, but the top 4 were showcased in the final.
This is clearly not compulsories. The entire point of compulsories is that every gymnast does the same set of basic/foundational elements in the same order (on FX, with the same music) so that the judges can compare based on technique and form.
in the 1996 olympics games, many believed the chinese would win team gold based on their podium practice. but they couldn't deliver in the real competition, what a shame! they had so much variety and difficulty in all aparatus, but they were so inconsistency
I hope they do! Even though I'm a huge fun of Russian gymnasts, I have to admit that the Chinese rule! If they can finish all of their routines without major faults, they will so win!
Yeah, that's true. Even her team-mate Ji Liya was dissapointing in that final. China had a bad competition in Atlanta, and now they are the World Champions!

This isn't Team Optionals because the Chinese didn't make it out of compulsories. This is probably the AA.

You are very, very incorrect.

Another classic case of someone believing everything NBC made them think.

I wish they aired the current worlds, I hate that Gymnastics is still not a premiere sport like figure skating is here! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

Does anyone know what score she got for that performance?

She got a 9.762 for this floor routine

Thanks. It's a shame she didn't make the Floor finals instead of Mo Huilan - she probably could've finished better.

Yeah it's about time they won the Team Gold. Hopefully they can go on to take the Gold in the 2008 Olympics, even it is on home ground.
