  • I tried the broom flying spell once when I was a child. Imagine my disappointment when it didn't work! >_<

  • @SanFranGirl1982 same here, so sad :-(

  • @SanFranGirl1982

you need a lot of power years of practices in witchcraft to do it most will tell you you cant do it but that because they cant, you need focus and concentration

  • "i don't believe in giving animals ridiculous names, so i called him Cosmic Creepers..."

  • I wasn't ready! Lol :P

  • mrs price being ordered by the government to take those kids. that kind of thing would never happen in the usa. the person would start bitching about their rights and tyrannical government and all that.

  • @exbronco1980 the film is set in the 1940s during the second world war, those children are from the inner city and children were sent to the country to escape the german bombing of london during the 40s..

learn history before you run you mouth......

  • Cat at 9:10 makes me LOL every time.

  • I don't remember the voice-overs as a child...is that new or did I just not notice?

  • @ABdadaSURD: not notice, the voice overs are in the DVD in I believe in the bonus materials, they are deleted scenes of the movie

  • @yamiyugifangirl Oh I see. Those are deleted scenes for a good reason then. They should have left it that way.

  • Charles voice sounds so weird at 6:52 he sound like a 5 year old kid

  • @ladyluca7 Yeah sounds very weird -.-

  • ...please ignore my last comment..this is FAR worse of a voice over..jesus...wtf were they thinking? Now they seem to have a German/aussie child trying to do the voice over lmao 6:50

  • Comment removed

  • 5:50 ...that voice over is painful to watch/listen too... ive no idea why they have an american kid (whos trying to do an english accent) do the voice over.

  • i cant believe this is posted. like i said a billion times before youtube is a time machine. this one of my childhood favorites.

  • there's a lot of parts in this version that I don't remember in the version I saw before, is it a directors cut version or something?

  • The best film from my childhood. Many,Many fond memories

  • Cosmic Creepers is so cute. I know he's being a naughty kitty, but he's still cute.

  • "I wasn't ready."

  • I've got this movie recorded on video and it doesn't have the scenes where the Captain was being threatened by the man with the rifle or the priest speaking with Mrs. Hobday, it also doesn't have the background music when Miss Price and the kids are in the bedroom learning the house rules.

  • Commenters, please disregard my other comment, I just realized that the guy at 1:50-3:20 looks NOTHING like Jim Carrey.

  • @BehindTheProscenium No that's Roddy MacDowell one of the original apes from the Planet of the Apes series.

  • Thanks to this movie, my sister ended up getting a black cat that she named Cosmic Creepers =3 Classic Disney is wonderful to grow up on!

  • MANY of these scenes were deleted from the version I grew up with.

  • @girlnamedjo yep, this is added with extra's this film,

voice overs aswell on the actors......on the parts which are not from the old film.

  • Wonder how she affords to live in a house that big, maybe she learned a create a house spell

  • I don't remember the chat between the priest and the lady after she takes off with the kids. Maybe it was cut out in some versions.

  • @packets1 yer a lot of part two was cut out of some versions. i was watching it and didnt remember seeing some of it to x

  • wow, I just realized... when I was a kid, I thought she was saying "a prentice witch." I had no idea what "prentice" meant, but I figured it was just a special type of witch.

  • @fortunateizzi it's "apprentice" like a student or someone learning a trade

  • @klstehn yeah i know... but i didn't know what an apprentice was when i was a little kid

  • what's the name of that type of motorcycle?

  • @d3vilcat2004 Back in those day's the old fashioned British Triumph was all the rage and still is, so my best answer to your question would be a Triumph.

  • @live2dance72 Very Odd that you'd be singing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang while watching this but to each their own I suppose.

  • Still my favorite actress.

  • Okay, two things:

Who thinks the guy at 1:50 - 3:20 acts and looks like Jim Carrey? Just something I noticed. Thumbs up if you agree!

I wonder if Ms. Price had any help making the dinner from Sweeney Todd! Seriously, that stuff looked like it was made from some persons body, and the only sensible way to conclude how a person got into her dinner is Sweeney Todd!

Angela Lansbury + Wierd Food = Sweeney Todd

  • wish i was a witch

  • Wow, I dont remember some of these scences. Never knew I was watching an edited version all those years.

  • @marie19734 i know what you mean. i HATE tv edited versions.

  • @marie19734 me too

  • LMAO that broom just yanked away so fast from her!! her quote " I Wasn't Ready" thumbs up if you thought that was funny!! lol

  • So much was edited out of the TV and VHS versions - Roddy McDowell's role is bigger than I thought. Angela Lansbury doesn't change - she looks exactly the same.

  • Wow I didn't realize that I'd been watching an edited version of Bedknobs and broomsticks all these years! The menacing priest and the children having no parents is totally new to me.

  • Cosmic Creepers says, 4:09 BOO! HA HA! Scaredy cats! 4:19 They did not! 7:48 What in the name of Thomas O' Malley is she up too? 8:03 Let me in! 8:13 Thank you for letting me. 6:30 Apprentice what? 8:43 Oh great! Now I'm the witches black kitty. 9:10 That's not how you do it! 9:33 Yeah yeah! Much better. Whatever! 9:43 What in the...!
  • that priest, or what ever he's called, is sooooo weird. I love this movie!

  • The german version of this movie (which I saw as a kid) is cut down to pieces, I believe almost an hour or so, because they wanted to throw out everything in connection with nazis or wwII, which basically is half the friggin movie. Stupid censors.

  • i have this movie but the tape doesnt work anymore :'( but i really love this movie!! <3

  • heheheh it's just a Nimbus 1900 hahhaha

thanks a lot for uploading!!! ive been thinking abt this movie for quite a while..

i had to google "teleporting bed and a witch" hahah and luckily i was able to find the title of this movie!!! i love this when i was a kid!! im hoping for a remake!!!!

  • She was in Ravenclaw :)

  • I don't think half of some of this was in the VHS I had when I was a kid, why is that?

  • @DAOW17 deleted scenes have been added in, in this version I believe as some of the first scenes in part one i definetly do not remeber lol

  • @DAOW17 deleted scenes have been added in, in this version I believe as some of the first scenes in part one i definetly do not remeber lol cos its dvd version

  • Anyone know whatever happened to the actors/actresses who played Charlie,Carrie and Paul as don't remember seeing much of them on tv later on.

  • the older boy's voice sounds dubbed in some parts od the dinner scene...anyone agree?

  • @naltrexone23X one part yeah lol. WHAT THE FUCK is he saying? After she says "jam" he's like "minga wiffle??" in a teletubby voice. wTF?!

  • @Bidon45 Minga wiffle...? Sounds like a danish pastry

  • hmm there is a lots of stuff that wasnt here last time i watched it :S

  • ms price does look pretty hot with those glasses :p

  • Miss Price is constantly reminding me of the Tom Jones song: "Woah-woah-woah she's a lady!"

  • my cat Tsuki, reminds me of her cat. Akthou Tsuki is a taby

  • That's one raggedy cat. Cosmic Creepers looks like he's been rode hard and put away wet lol

  • i love cosmic creepers

  • @CelticKisses such a strange name for a cat. Oh well. =D

  • Angela Lansbury!!!!!!!!! From Beauty And The Beast, The Pirates of Penzance, and Sweeney Todd!!!!!!!!! She's such an adorable woman, so motherly and affectionate.

  • her home looks like The Burrow when in living room

  • No fried foods?! How do you keep your health?

  • @auquamarine12 It certainly sounds funny these days what with the fast food we indulge in, but back then the major health problem was malnutrition. Most people did not get as many calories as they needed, so a bit of fried food would have done them good! Even when my parents were growing up in the 60s and 70s, their typical meal was just potatos, vegetables and a bit of meat or fish - nothing as exciting as the pastas, pizzas and curries we can have now.

  • @auquamarine12 As a treat Dad's family would cook a jacket potato by the fireplace when they came back from their Saturday hike/cycling in the wood, and that was a treat!

  • @auquamarine12

I cant help but wonder if the kids concept of healthy foods are messed up in some way.

  • @auquamarine12 I know... & I'm sat here eating fries =/

  • I love the way she roll her r's =]

  • Two things:

i love how it looks like Miss Price is taking a Hogwarts Home Study Course! lol

and Andrew Zimmern from Travel Channel's "Bizarre Foods" should try what Miss Price is eating! ^_^

  • @JillHill7 Bizarre Foods is awesome! :D

  • Comment removed

  • i had this film on video and half of this wasn't in there

i know the bit about the aunt wasn't

maybe they shortened it for the video

  • haha i love that "no fried foods? how you keep your health!?"

  • Woah Those Cat's at 8:34 scare me.

  • i used to L-O-V-E this as a kid

  • "I -wasn't- ready! (Bitch!)"

  • what the?! I own the vhs but it's in spanish and it doesn't have the scene at 2:37 In my vhs it fades to black and shows them arriving to her house o.0

  • @BittenByEdward001 extended edition? XD

  • @StrayWolfPuppy oh lmao I guess I'll have to buy it again then -_-

  • i wonder how old is this movie O_O

  • @GreenBlossom45

it was made in '71, 39 years old and still unbeatable

  • @Kelztje wow that old i saw this when i was young O__O

  • @GreenBlossom45 It's 39 years old. It was made in 1971, subtract that from 2010 and you get 39. :)

  • @RainTheLeadmare O__o that old xD

  • @GreenBlossom45 lol XD

  • @RainTheLeadmare That was up lolz

  • what is bubble in squeek

  • @tkemen40 It's cabbage and potatoes fried together and they are named after the sound they make while they fry.

  • @skylur44 So the Bubble is the Potatoes and the squeek is the cabbage being fried? or the other way around?

  • @yamiyugifangirl It's both of them, together, frying, they bubble and make a squeaking sound. Also delicious!

  • LOL the preist is trying to pump Jesus into there heads! I can't see the signifigance of his character though.

  • One of my favorite movies from childhood! And I grew up on a taped-from-TV version so there are short exchanges and small conversations that I have never had the pleasure of seeing till now. This is great! Oh, and I must add: Angela Lansbury is REMARKABLE!! Thanks for posting this movie!

  • I live in britain, people back at that time spoke like that anyway, not that i lived at that time,

  • oh wow i haven't seen this movie since i was a kid. i don't even remember what this movie is about. good ole' youtube! this brings back memories...

  • What did she say right at 6:29?

"Toad and eel?" Hmm, interesting combo.

  • @togio100

"Toad in the Hole". It's sausages in a puddin. :)

  • in a savoury pudding mixture

  • "I don't believe in giving animals ridiculous names, I called him Cosmic Creepers because that's the name he came with"

That line has always made me smile :)

  • I love this. She maybe a bit of a clutzy witch, but miss Fletcher....oops sorry, I mean miss Price does her job well

  • What the hell happend to the older lads voice at 5.47? He sounds like he's an american doing a bad english acent. and Carries when she says "Whats all that?"

  • @edithlikeseggs

I bet Disney had to redub that line when they converted the audio for a DVD transfer. That's probably why it sounds so out of place.

That being said, does the actor playing Charlie ever NOT have a badly-caricatured English accent? I mean, I have not met to many Britons myself, but I have been to London. And I don't seem to remember people taking with SUCH an exaggerated cockney.

  • Er no trust me no one speaks as bad as that lol x

  • "We're not exactly burden down with frillys," that part always makes me laugh

  • I love the disgusted look on Paul's face at 6:34.

  • Wow. Havn't seen some of the scenes in this one.

  • why is it that my original video of this didnt have some of the scenes in it? in the scenes i didnt know existed it seems as though charlie's voice changes?!

  • 30th aniversy edition i think. has edited scenes back in or some such

  • @jecka1982 I was wondering the same thing!

  • I was in a funny mood when i was watching this and i was with my friend, my friend said at 2:10 , it looks like shes farting very very badly X^D

  • that vicar is sooooooooooo annoying

  • It's funny, the last time I saw Angela Lansbury, she was playing Mrs. Lovett on the broadway production of Sweeney Todd. I used to watch this film as a kid, and it's funny to see her as this role again after watching her play Mrs. Lovett!

  • oh children with english accents are so cute!

  • @JackInTheBox1616 hmm they're also called english children lol

  • lol what i said was the exact same thing, just reworded differently. The message is the same.

  • Angela lansbury is an amazing actress. If you look up her very early films, she was really quite dishy. A class act.

  • is it me or are there bits added into this???

  • yes there are added bits put in,

badly added too....they should of left it as it was.

still was a classic film though.

  • Agree with you competely

  • i believe this is the verson that was originally created but the

"bits and pieced added" were the pieces they cut out to shape the length of the film. That's to my understand but don't quote on me.

  • is this the VHS version or the DVD version of the movie?

  • For some reason I have been wanting to watch this movie i love this movie very much they should make more movies like these but noooo they have to make skank disney movies or there not even disney movies its all about pre teen sex drama lameness these movies are classics LOVE THEM!

  • I always remember the bit when he goes 'MANGOWURZEL' in that bizarre voice, ha. :D

  • this is getting to the good part

  • "I dont believe in giving animals rediculous names, I call him cosmic creepers"

  • It's the name he came with! Gawd.

  • "i wasnt ready" lol

  • that is the skankiest looking cat i've ever seen...lmao!

remember always laughing at her saying "my first brrrooom!" :D

  • MG! Its Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote! I forgot she was in this! It shows you how long its been since I've seen it!

  • That's interesting considerering Angela Landsbury is just about the only thing I ever remember.

  • you mean the actress is angela lansbury who played jessica fletcher in murder she wrote i dont watch that tv series but i looked it up
