it's still a big mystery why Lisa was not given chance to perform in the wildcard round the fact that she ended up 3rd in the semi-finals week performance.
She was in a weak group but I think Camille had half of Hawaii voteing for her. Matt Rogers had all the young girls voteiing for him and consequently she ended up coming third. Its unfortunate that demographics had played a role in her not progressing. As for her not performing in the Wildcard category oh don't get me started..... Shame she did not advance I think with a couple of weeks under her built she could of held her own against Fantasia Barino and Latoya London but will never know.

The thing is, you can't say Lisa is better than everybody else based on one performance alone, sadly people didn't see more of her. Lisa has two cds out - a truly beautiful Xmas CD ( Sing me HOme ) and another " Reality "- clips avail on Amazon and maybe still on cdbaby - there are also some live youtube performances of Lisa ( best was at the Apollo and an older one from there that is no longer on youtube - Body and Soul ) , Based on that and watching all seasons of AI and being a huge fan , I definitely can say she beats Haley hands down and ,though I like Crystal and have her cd , Lisa is much better ,IMO
Of course, it is all subjective . Some people love Bob Dylan , others hate his voice .Same with any musician , I guess. I do agree there is just so much untapped musical talent out there , that there is always someone " better " than another but I think most would agree that Lisa has a lot of talent . It is all a matter of personal taste , I guess . I do tend to get overly zealous about " defending " those I consider real talent : )

You look somehow like Kelly and you have a voice quite similar to Kelly. For me, Kelly has an outstanding vocal calisthenics but nasal and Kelly has no natural groove like yours especially when you sang Sweet Thing. I think Kelly can't do fast songs or fast beat and soulful although vocally she has an outstanding style in her voice.
Vonzell Solomon and Suzy Vulaca - they were pitchy
It's been years since this performance but I still come back to hear it because it IS fantastic. Lisa has one of the best voices and styles of anyone. If there's one thing that shows like American Idol have proved over and over it's that lots of people can carry a tune or even have powerful voices but that doesn't mean I want to hear them sing. Clay Aiken for instance. After the first time I would have been happy to never hear another note. Lisa could sing the phone book and be great.
"it was good but it wasn't fantastic", hope she had given her all. Vocally speaking, Kelly is better than Lisa watching her top 30 performance RESPECT. And I think they don't like another Kelly for season 3 because she already had an album going that year. They saw many great singers in this batch like Simon's early favorite Latoya London then Fantasia...
Personally knowing Lisa, I do believe her rejection made her stronger. She continued on to make albums, travel the world, but sadly gain more weight. But as many of you have said, she can bust a damn note. This isn't America's Next Top Model.
I also said " This isn't America's Top Model , but you know what , Lisa can not only sing amazingly, she is gorgeous and would make a good model - a plus sized model but beauty comes in all sizes , right ?

0 dislikes. That says it all. One of the most robbed contestants in the 10 years Idol has been running. Simon complained about her weight, but she's not even that heavy. Also, it never seems to bother him when a male or even an African American female is overweight. It's like he has a bizarre standard that only Caucasian women have to look skinny enough for him.

THis semifinal group was absolute garbage. She was the only one even remotely good.

Ugg, I'm still amazed at the fact that she did not make the Top 12. Especially since she had the worst group ever :)
