This is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous tones, amazing blend of sounds, stunning piece of music!!!!
Oh, and if anyone knows where I could find the sheet music for this (either purchase or download for free), then PLEASE message me!!! I've been looking all over for an arrangement of this for low brass, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
I'm a Tbone player although haven't touched it in about four years... but to those that haven't the variability of such an instrument you all really should. Every instrument can have a soft side as well as a harsh. They are like people, no 2 sound or play quite the same. So finding the perfect instrument for a players is like matchmaking.
The sheet music for this is available online for free at free-scores (dot) com; if you can't find it PM me with your email address and I'll send you a copy :)
Great arrangement! I've played it in concert few weeks ago with the trombone quartet of Laval University in Quebec City. We got a good response from the audience
Very beautiful. So this was played on 4 Conn 88h trombones? I've been looking into a new trombone to buy and have been considering that model and the Bach 42.
I'd go for a Conn before Bach everytime, but that's just my preference. The modern Conn 88 Thin wall plays similar to the old Elkhart. I now have a Shires Trubore with Elkhart specs...a fantastic horn if you're willing to part with the money.
I wasn't aware that Greenhoe made compelete bones ... I know their valves are rated high. I am preparing to purchase a bass bone set up from Shires with dual bore slide, both 9.5 and 10.5 inch bell sections with the Axial Flow valves for each. I may look into Greenhoe, but ... I have become a big fan of the Thayer's on my Getzen, David Taylor model.
How are the tru-bores? I am about to step up from a Getzen, David Taylor (dual bore bass bone) that I have had custom fitted with Thayers, to the Shires dual bore. I am in discussion now over the difference between the Alial flow and Tru-bores. How would you rate yours?
@Chloe19571 I played an older Conn 88H (built in the mid 70s) for years - fantastic instrument. Not as large as some of the other professional tenors, with a superb mellow sound. I understood that Conn's quality dropped some in the late 80s but has come back up again. I do not know what the modern Conn 88 is like. The Bach 42B is a fine instrument, larger than the Conn. If I had to choose, I would pick my vintage Conn 88H any day.

Isn't the Bach factory still on strike.... or they have rehired inconsistent workers??
eddimull 3 years ago
I'm really not sure....

Either way, this is absolutely gorgeous, Bachs used to be great horns, and Shires/Edwards are good horns now.

Still today, December 10th 2008, Bach workers arre still not back to work... BTW, it isn't a strike anymore...it,s a lock out.
I've been boycoting Bach products since they hired scabs.
