Why would someone destroy a great machine like that. This was obviously a floor model at one time when you can tell by the fins by the volume control doors.
it`s ok, but it`s also been cut down. It was actually a floor model, someone cut off the cabinet from the record storage area down. Victor never made a table model that looked like that.
Believe it or not, my parents owned one of those and it was in our basement when I was a kid of aboout 6 or so. I remember my Dad playing records on it. The only one I can remember was titled "The Death of Floyd Collins", which I actually found on this site.
Well, At least one third of a Victrola. That's a VV-X from the late teens I should imagine. It's a floor model which is missing the nearly two thirds of it's height as well as missing the Sound-Box off the Taper-Tube. You would do better selling the parts off of it sadly.
I wish I could learn how to use a crank operated unit such as that one. I do have a new record player with the capabilties of playing 78s, but turning an old crank looks like a lot more fun!
