You should know that many people have to apply for food stamps because insurance companies won't properly compensate those injured by their negligent drivers. That means, if you say dad is paying you $500/mo in rent, we take your statement and don't have to request anything as proof. Second, if your 19 year old son lives with you and you say he buys his food separately from you, that doesn't matter. Children under that age of 22 living in a home with his/her parents have to be included in that parent's case.

I really need help with getting food stamps. I applied and got denied because my husband makes to much money. But we are a three person household making way less than our bills cost. @KatCountry1033Girl Have you tried budgeting? I don't know what your husband does but maybe you could find ways to budget what you have. It must be hard having a child, I have pets and it's hard when money is tight but they always eat...even when I went with out for two weeks.

@chillwill316 that sucks , i'm sorry to hear that , if you live with her in her house and your unemployed , maybe you could try to apply saying that you pay her rent , and with no job and little to no money , you can't buy food .. if she lives with you in YOUR house and she doesn't have a job , you could charge her rent and maybe she could apply again ... best of luck to you ...

Fortunately I can take care of myself, I don't do Drugs or drink alcohol. I am too proud for food stamps. This is the last step in total destruction of America. Bankrupt her even more, till she can't come up for air. People who are dependent on the system will be hysterical. Don't feel guilty or hesitate for a minute to blow their brains out when the time comes in about a year and a half. I refuse to be dependent on the system bro.

@CTastic1 oh i wouldn't worry to much ctastic the system won't just stop , what's most likely to happen is that everyone will take a "haircut " which means everyone gets to experince "writedowns " horray for writedowns ! lol ,obviously it's not good to be depedant on the system , but if the system is giving illegals a free ride , then i have no problem jumping on board , i'll take uncle sam's 200 dollars a month in free money if i can get it ..

They are screwing us over by giving our tax money to illegal aliens who abuse the sysyem each and everyday by the thousands, in fact i am sure a great many come here for the food stamp program alone, because that is how they will feed their 6 anchor babies with " a little extra' food left over for mom and dad!! (along with tax evasion) Paying taxes to feed other people's kids, how lovely.

@CTastic1 Well, I think if a person is struggling bad and needs to get a good stock of food storage, I say don't abuse the food stamp program, use it to get a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE storage of storable food, and then do what one can to use as little as possible of it thereafter without dipping into the stored food, maybe buy vegetable seeds with it and grow your own food. But whatever the case, I definitely agree about not being dependent upon the government.
