they don't eat paper lovebirds usually chew it up and place it between their feathersto take to an area to make a nest. Also they don't have to be pregnant or female to build a nest males do it too. I have 2 males that do it and 2 females . Also I think you should put some other types of perches in your cage or your birds are going to get sore feet. Birds that fight with eachother are usually bored and need toys in the cage.
