  • Now that's a nice caprice :)

  • nice! any salvage yards down there with old caprices for parts?

  • dont let this cop get behind you

  • Small Block & Short Block means the same thing. Same goes for Big Block and Long Block. The difference is the Bore Stroke. Small blocks have a shorter stroke meaning the crank turns over faster than a Long Block. They rev up much faster. Long Blocks have more torque but take longer to rev up and it typically takes the piston a longer time to go from the top to the bottom of the cylinder. thats the definition of bore stroke. Small blocks have a shorter trip to take up and down.

  • @TRILLGATES2K6 LOL no... Short block means its an assembled rotating assembly, that means pistons, rods, and crank.... A Long block is a short block with heads, cam, valvetrain, oil pump assembled... Big block and Small block are of casting familys, Small block is 267-400 cubic inch and Big block is 366-572 cubic inch... With those designations externally speaking all small blocks are the same along with big blocks are externally the same.

  • I miss this classic cop car :(

now its all Crown Vics and Chargers...

and an Impala that looks more like a CV then an Impala..

  • better not see that bitch in the rear view lmao

  • dont you feel like robo cop should pop out

  • Way to ruin someones comments page by fighting on it

  • @DerrianakafreakyD the standard 9c1 motor was the L99 4.3 v8...the OPTIONAL motor was the lt1 that the imapala ss had with 260hp...that is not that impressive dude...especially for how heavy that car is...maybe if it had an LS1 it would be cool

  • @leschampagnes1 you actually have that backwards...the LT1 was the original motor for the 9c1...but the l99 4.3 V8 was optional for departments to order for supervisors and detective units...and yes I agree 260hp for a 4000lb car is not impressive in THESE DAY AND AGES...but when the impy came out....THERE WERE NOT MANY CARS THAT COULD TOUCH AN SS......Now you can't compare an LT engine with an LS engine....14 year difference in design, technology, and much lighter cars....

  • @leschampagnes1 drive one and see ... i found there to be WAY more power then the 240 hp p71 (which is 10 years newer and cost a fortune to upgrade). lt1 > 4.6 ford and no, its not a 'mustang motor' because it shares displacement, its 2v while the mustang is 4 along with a million other changes, its just a 4.6 truck motor...

  • @leafsrule16 wtf are you talking about? i never said it was a mustang motor and i never said either of them were quick i said both the p71 and the 9c1 were dogs....because they are...b4c on the other hand =) thats fast

  • @leschampagnes1 i was replying to you but i know you didnt say 4.6's were mustang motors but it seems every idiot with one claims 'OH YEAH MY CAR GOT THE 4.6 MUSTANG MOTOR'. lt1's eat up 4.6's for supper, dont know police codes is that what the b4c is?

  • @leafsrule16 b4c is the camaro...i have an ls1 b4c

  • Comment removed

  • haha watch the floor before and after

sumones runnin nice and fat rich then hits fuel cut looks like? right ppl help

    me out?

  • phoenix pd is the best!

  • Why

  • don't want to fuck with that cop car

  • i dont know what gm was thinking but man they made some tough cars with the caprice and impala.

  • Fuck my life if one I get caught speeding by this guy. Not getting away

  • @emoklan shit, you're thinking the wrong way; you need a DR650

  • thats the law you do not want to run from

  • @6V92TA i agree lol

  • nice

  • that's WHEEL horsepower. If this is a mustang dyno, it's over 450-470HP at the crank no problem.

  • @TCRRacing Plus its through a fairly loose stall. Stalls and dynos dont play well together. I bet itd be around 425to435 with a 6 speed.

  • @TCRRacing Haha, ya, like horsepower at the crank really matters. You could have a 1000 horsepower, but if you can only put 100 of those onto the ground, it really begs the question as to why you bother having that much power when so much of it is wasted.

  • Suspension comes into play still because a lot of modern day vehicles are more efficent at getting it to the ground too lol

  • Did you not read the discription well? The engine is not stock so GM has nothing to do with it. The people who tuned the car are responsible for what it puts out. Just in case you didnt know 399rwhp is a shitload of power. I suggest you keep playing with the Civics you are used to.

  • 399 at the wheels means it probably has at least 460 or more at the crank seeing as you lose on average 15% of your power between the crank and the axles

  • you lose ROUGHLY 20% with an auto and 17% with a stick.

  • @Mystirsyk

Through a stalled auto on a Mustang dyno.....you dont know much about cars do you? Go back to your magazines racing.

  • To bad cops dont kill Mexicans lol its more like we kill you guys on the line of duty lmao!

  • Is this really a enfocment cruiser? How did the city let this guy build this? I tried to put NOS on my cruiser and they laughed at me! I was going to pay to do it all ,they just had to say it was O.K.

  • The "9c1" is just the police code. 94-96 "9c1s" where outfitted with a 265hp 5.7 LT1 vette motor

  • it is police car

  • this car is a beast

  • QUICK QUESTION WATS THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN A 95 Caprice 9C-1

    AND A 95 CHEVY CAPRICE LT1?

  • A 9c-1 has a 4.3 v8 with a single tail pipe and a LT1 has a 5.7 vette engine with dual tail pipes you have more power I have a 96 with a LT1 with a 136 thousand and still runs like new

  • 9C1 is the police package. It does NOT denote a 4.3L engine.

  • difference is there is no 95 caprice lt1

  • YEA THATS WHAT I HAVE

  • it came in there from the factory cuz if so thats the first one i've heard of.

  • I have the same car--a 95 Caprice 9C-1

dual exhaust, Flowmaster Muffs (3 chambers), resonators delete, stock exhaust manifolds, Walboro fuel pump, GM Performance Opti-Spark unit, cleaned and blueprinted injectors, stock cam and lifters.

  • police?

  • man this car is noob my toyota Corolla can beat this shit. ITS MAX SPEED IT 70 MPH. ACELLARATION is 20 sec.s

  • non american is gay

  • LMAO I Was kidding no offence but that was dumb comment i mean did u even read the whole thing. TOYOTA CORALLA IS A GRANDMA CAR ITS AS SLOW AS FUCK AN YEAH 20 SECS IS KIND OF SLOW TO GET TO 70.

  • wow!... is my favorite car!!

  • all u dumb fucks dats claiming a 454 is only a big block needs 2 go type da shit n on google n get yo homework dumbasses...my grandad has been machining engines 4 12 years n i know dat a 454 can b a small block

  • @808601 u might be right but i think the small block goes up to 400 after that its a big block unlessits bored out

  • Man, even stock the 9C1 Caprice put Crown Vics to shame.

  • Ther is a 400 small block and a 396 big block thats the largest and smallest that I know of!

  • there is a 366 big block but its a medium duty truck motor. its really just a tall deck big block chevy

  • Thanks I knew there where some industrial motors in grain trucks and crap like that but not sure there size and what not. Was the 366 like fords 360?

  • no, the 360 was in ford pick-ups.the 360 made 215hp, & 327 lb-ft. the chevy 366 was in the 4500 series truck. and was built to pull 10-15tons. i was told it made close to 600 ft-lb of torque.

  • oh my i want this car!

  • a 454 can b a small or big block u dumbass fucks

  • wrong 454 is a big block 454 cubic inches

  • 454 LSX last time i checked LSX blocks are small blocks

  • but thats not your common 454 those are mainly in camaros

  • LSX 454 has never came in a camaro!

  • i never said a LSX came in a camaro i know that the LS3 same enigne in the corvette C6 is in the 2010 camaro

  • your on crack. 454 is only a big block fucktard.

  • You are the FUCKTARD, LSX 454's are small blocks....do research first dipshit

  • I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!

  • 421.95 HP and 450.95 lb/ft torque off a stroker 396? sounds right but i guess you can only squeeze so much out of a 350.

i would rather destroke a 406 imo but non-the-less sick vid and sick car 5*

  • I got 800 Hp out of my 350 or should I say 355.

  • can't believe oh dude said 454 small block!!!!! funny...

    big block bro, big block

  • yeah mann i know... dude said he had a 350 big block in his... i was makin fun of him...

  • No, a 454 can be a small block, look at the LSX motors....jokes on you now

  • damn i hate because they stop making these cars

  • no such thang as a 454 small block u simp

  • if all cop cars sounded and ran as good as this one most likely does, there would be a lot less high speed chases by people thinking the car they just stole can out run or out-accelerate this 4200 pound beast of a car

  • @sixty9fordkiller Right, that's what I'm saying!

  • holy shit... thats freaking LOUD for a 350... damn!

  • that thing is a beast !!!

  • Damn Corvette engine there! man them 9C1's put the hammer down!

  • That bitch sound like a monster..I have a 350 big block in mine..mine is an ex-cop car...

  • Uh..the chevy 350 is a small block...

  • @deviltrigger529 Yeah but this is 396 Stroker kit different con rods pistons and some more i dont remember

  • @deviltrigger529 Why do they call it small block.. and is there such thing as a big block?

  • lol... 350 small big block??? roflmao... well i got a 454 small block in mine.. haha... tard!!

  • a 454 small block??? where in the fuck get this?? bcuz i thght the 454 was a big block??

  • yeah i know its a big block... dude said he has a 350 big block in his car... so i said i got a 450 small block

  • you can have a 454 small block ;) LSX454's are small blocks

  • Hey Tard, a 454 can be a small block....look at the LSX's

  • Awesome! What size rim and tire do you have on the front and rear? Looks tough! Thanks

  • So thats what 400+ horse power sounds like.

I have to do something like this for my Caprice.

  • alot off people dont hold the starter for long for it to turn over..in vids i noticed over time. Do people try to start em with gas to show off the sound.

    whatever

    just through'in it out there.

  • Its a high compression stroker engine so my guess that the reason it doesnt catch on the first turn or two is because it hasnt been tuned to allow more fuel with respect to the modifications made.

  • the 95 caprice 9c1 had the best of everything except the floor shifter@ thunder appeal.

  • I believe the 9c1 had better body bushings too, not even the Impala had the same bushings at the 9c1. From what I understand the Impala had standard body bushings from a regular Caprice.

  • But more specifically, my previous question wasnt in relation to what was better or worse.

    I was asking for dimensions.

The Impala rear axle is slightly wider than the Caprice to facilitate wider tires and a different rim offset.

  • Does anyone know what sort of police package, That goes fastest and is the strongest. P71 or 9C1..

  • 9C1

  • @ChevroletCaprice9C1 Both the packages are about the same the 9c1s are faster but the p71s are my reliable and are easier at the pumps

  • @challengerdodge

ACTUALLY.....THE P71S ARE NOT MORE RELAIBLE....THE LT1 IS A VERY RELIABLE ENGINE...MOST SB CHEVY'S ARE....ONLY THING THAT MADE THE LT1 A PAIN WAS THE OPTISPARK DISTRIBUTER....WHICH GM HAD MOUNTED DIRECTLY BELOW THE WATER PUMP....

  • @ChevroletCaprice9C1 9c1s are dogs and so are p71s....people make them look fast by putting a lot of money into them but really if you want something similar get an impala ss or mercury marauder

  • @ChevroletCaprice9C1 9c1 by far, p71's just have a 4.6 modular (modern shit motor, impossible to upgrade, not even a mustang 4.6 which has 4v compared to 2 on the p71) while this is a 5.7 that is super easy to upgrade

  • @ChevroletCaprice9C1

9C1.. must have the LT-1 motor

94-96 Caprices run 0-60 in 7 seconds and 1/4 mile of 15 flat.. all day long!

  • Does anyone know which caprice cop car. Who had the biggest fastest and strongest engine..

I mean the cars that was make to be around in the city like the nypd. Maybe they did.`t needed a strong engine. they would make it with 260hp something.

Otherwise a highway patrol car neded a stronger engine. like 300 hp or even more...

I wonder which sort of Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 car is the strongest. Or have all of e`m the same engine. I appreciate the one who tells me.

  • 94-96

  • Badass!!

  • Are those stock 9c1 rims? What is the widest tire on those rims you are able to get into those wheel wells? Is the rear end a stock width? Or did you use a rear end from an Impala?

Thanks for the videos and loved the B17 vids too.

  • i want to say the rims are 7.5 to 8 inch, go to any tire place and ask

  • So the rims you have are stock? Which would be 7.5, if that is the case then is that rear end a stock 9c1 rear end? The Imapla's had a slightly wider rear end thereby making them able to fit the wider rims in the back.

    What size tires are those?

    Thanks.

  • dude you can totaly see the floor turn black when he floors it, crazy.

  • im about to order an unpdated 4l60e for my 95 blazer, good to know it can handel 400 horepower!

  • My transmission was modified by Top Gear Motor Sports here in Phoenix. No problems after 40 passes down the track and 20K miles during the past 12 monts.

  • What kind of mufflers is on it?

  • Spintechs

  • my buddys crown vics pushin 455rwhp and is still street legal

  • and its still a crown vic.

  • haha ouch

  • If more departments had something like that, the troublemakers might think twice before running from the law!

  • omg i love the fucking beast!!!

  • Nice, I hope when I get on the force I can drive a 9c1. My town bearly has any if even. The only ones ive seen are the detective ones.

  • How did you get your dept. to let you drive it?

  • I'm fortunate enough to have a Chief of Police that also enjoys drag racing his C5 corvette. Because I bought the car ($500), obtained outside funding to restore it back to 1st class status ($25K) and then leased it back to the city (no liability that way) for $1, it has become our daily driven marketing tool. Nobody drives it but me and it will stay that way. Our motto: race at the track, never on the street!

  • Looks like Shamu. Runs like a great white!

  • Thanks, the best part is i get to drive it every day! 13mpg

  • Wait, you get to drive that every day.......there's no way that thing is anywhere near street legal. Next time I'm in Phoenix I'm pulling my cats and slapping DRs on my car. Hey, if the cops can do it.....

What kind of times does she run?

  • 12.9 with the old 3.42 gears and a 3000 stall with tri-y headers. Now, 3.73 gears, 3400 stall and 1 3/4" quads. it should be 12.7ish! thanks
