this is a great song but the music video takes away from it, especially the sound effects. However, I do enjoy this song. Also waiting for a war is great but the music video once again sucks d hole
@MickVersusYou You read my mind! Earlier today, I was contemplating what Grizzly Bear would sound like sexing NMH. (I have no idea why I contemplate such things.) Anyways, that's quite an interesting coincidence. I guess people who listen to great music think alike.
Can't describe the perfection that screams through this song every time I listen to it. I want to say this has to be one of my favorite songs under the alternative genre. You can't find perfection like this in all bands. Not a huge fan of a lot of their songs, but this one hits the "perfect" category.
I caught these cats on Carson Daly late last night, and they killededed this song. amazing guitar work during the live performance. I was like...You gotta be kidding me. The studio tracks are tight, but to catch these guys live is the ultimate. About to hit the world by storm with this track.....
I could not get this song's chorus out of my head, nor recall its lyrics, title, or artist, for a good hour today. It was the most infuriating experience of my life. I have had a very sheltered life, obviously.
@cagirlie It is an amazing show. I actually live in Europe and work with a couple of British girls and they are the ones who turned me on to it. I am dying to know if the band took the name from the show, I was so excited when I found them just for that reason alone :)
Ok so does anyone know if the name "Morning Benders" is in any way connected to the British show "The Inbetweeners" in which the greeting "Morning, Benders" is used early and often by one of the characters. PS- if you haven't seen that show get on it, it is amazing
@blueniner i can't believe that 'the inbetweeners' made it to the states! i live in the uk, and it was mimimally accepted here. i think it's one of the funniest things ever. it's brilliant. whomever made up the colloquilisms for the series is an absolute genius. for christ's sake, i live here and i didn't even know what 'clunge' meant! ('til the series came out, that is!)
@djkilmore1 no. they had one called talking through tin cans which is fantastic but it has a different vibe, less chilled out. they also have some other stuff floating around, a covers album, some daytrotter sessions, etc.
I have a serious case of insomnia, and I caught a episode of last call with carson and this was the featured band, and i thought wow, what a great sound. i went and ordered their cd right then and there online. It was so old school type. it's meant to be played from start to finish. I thought, wow, i haven't liked more than 4 songs on any cd I've bought in the past 10 years. Just fantastic. This is the song i listen to most of all. Thumbs up if this song puts you in a good mood
Notice during the chorus of the song, he goes up high in range to hit "But I cant help thinking we grew up too fast". when the song is live he always goes down, i dont like that. I love the vid and the band but, the song when performed live needs more drive.
The vocals off the original and this video are what they need to bring back.
Simple Steps to a great time. Step 1 : wait for a cool clear night with a full moon. Step 2: Ingest a decent amount of magic mushrooms. Step : Lay on a blanket in a field. : Step 4: put Big Echo through your head phones. Step 5: Take a walk through space and walk on the moon.
@theplanet1985 Yeah soon after posting i found out that Chris Taylor, the bassist of grizzly bear helped produce the album. It's a small world after all, in the indie music scene at least.
I don't even think The Morning Benders And Vampire Weekend are that similar. I feel the Morning Benders are more genuine in their music. Any WAY I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! I would compare them too MINIATURE TIGERS And SSLYBY Yet they're still unique!!!!!
