i have smoked my pipes in my room with the windows closed (its cold up here!) for 6 years, and am trying to give up the 10 pipe a day habit due to an upcoming 5k im planning to run. was pleasantly surprised to find that some premier pipe tobacco manufacturers also make snuff. ordered some SG tins and realized i didnt know anything about the whole snuff scene. your vid was informative and cool. thanks much! -j

Don't snort the stuff though, if you do it'll go in your sinuses, just a gentle but sharp sniff.

Thanks, this was a great vid for me. I've been trying to stop smoking and I'm sick of the nicotine gum, so I bought some snuff today (Hedges) and it's great.  The gentle snorting tip was great; my first attempt I really snorted hard, LOL. Hey thanks, I love it, it's better than smoking and not as dangerous.

you can get snuff online just google buy snuff online or similar. i get it from little tobacco shops. usually about £1 or £3 for big tins.

I´m 15 and from german.

I smoked 2 Months ago, and i think now, smoking cigarettes is not good, from a friend i snuff the first try. I find this nice. Now i´m taking snuff (Gawith apricot snuff) since 3 weeks... What healty risks are coming with the snuffing? Because i´m only 15 and don´t want to be addictet from snuff...

I love it when people do the "personal documentaries" on snuff. I live in United States where I know only a handful of people that do Snuff so its been kind of a "sink or swim" for finding my own methods to do it.

I really should have sought out other users on youtube for tips and stuff but anyways. I'm sure many people appreciate the video.

F&T HDT was my second snuff. Didn't like it all the first time I gave it a shot. But it didn't take me long before I began to like it. I'm not using it as my everyday snuff thou.

My first snuff was Ozona President by Pöschl.

Here in Canada, it's difficult to get many varieties of snuff. So far I've only been able to find McCrystals sp, and menthol in the tobacco shops. It is a little difficult starting out with very dry snuff. I find that snuffing from the Anatomical snuff box is easiest because with very dry snuff, it seems to give you more time to "arrest" the sniff, and keep it from going down your throat. I found that the pinch was a little harder to master with very dry snuff.

You should really gently inhale.. so the snuff doesn't go down the back of your throat.. I just have a quick blow.. you should try and leave it for as long as possible so you get the benifit of the nicotine.. I hope that's helped. Tim

I just began my snuff adventures, myself! After 15 years of cigarettes, then finding Chewing tobacco, Dip and snus, Pipes and cigars, i realized i had a severe LOVE for the plant. Somehow this little pleasure has eluded me until the ripe age of 27, and maybe for the better! I'm currently enjoying my Bernard Shmalzers at night F&T Macouba all day long. One or two cigarettes a day for stressful moments, and thats it. Keep snuff going, and support these amazing artisans of the nostrils!

I sarted snuffing at around 14 in the USA, no one knows about it, but with the current smoke restrictions it is a BLESSING. I stopped for fear of the usual but I loved every second of it. I might go get a tin this weekend now because of this video!

hey says there a 3 types of snuff, he is talking about his nasal snuff. There are actually  other types of snuff. There is other moist snuff, such as Snus, and there is American Dip. Nasal Snuff can also be dipped.

I have just purchased quite a lot of different snufs, some are in plastic but most are in metal tins, as i don't really use that much of it i have put them all in my mini-fridge in my room, is this the best place for them for storage?

Or would they be better stored in a drawer?

how to store snuff is a subject full of debates. The owner of the Toque snuff co. recomends a humidor, wich is how I store mine. Others suggest simply an air tight container. Some store in the freezer while others say the freezer will destroy the flavors of the snuff. So with that said I would say store in an air tight container would be the safest rought to go at this point for you. Hopefully Tim can do a vid on this sometime.

Thanks for the tips, iv'e been making my own snuff with the leftover shake from my rolling tobacco. I prefer leaving the shake out for a few days to get real dry, it makes it allot easier to grind into a finer powder. The effects of snuff seem allot different to me than with smoking, I find it has a lasting mellowness after the initial kick. I can't really get buzzes from cigarettes anymore.

Awesome. Glad I found your videos again! You indirectly got me into snuff taking and I love the stuff. I started out with the Gawith Hoggarth variety, which is okay, but am moving on to try the Pocshl (sp?) brand. Any suggestions for better snuff? Thanks again for the vids!

At the minute i have McChrystals O&G, GletscherPrise, Wilsons Apricot, Wilsons Cherry Menthol and J&H Wilsons no.99.

I will call into Herbert Love's in Aberdeen tomorrow to see what they have to offer - i fancy trying some Old Paris.

Hi Danny, Clive sells four loose snuffs. I buy £5 at a time - which is a lot of snuff, The Old Paris is top snuff. But a word to the wise - it should be sampled up the nose not out the tin.
