  • is it me or has he got the rates well in ? if i moved that much stick input into my heli, it would be pitched sideways headed into the ground...

  • i learned building my helis from you and tony, your vids have been the core of my building skills, so THANK YOU!!

  • I don't know about you guys but I always pinch my cyclic control, it makes it way easier to have precise control.

  • @Grinder0909 I tried that...it feels weird - harder to move controls around fast - hard to flick other switches(dual rates, gear, flaps, throttle hold). My fingers have never slipped off the top of the sticks with the sharp metal spiky tines.

  • @MikeysRC I agree. I use the thumbs on top method, too. Tried the pinch way, wasn't pretty.

  • @MikeysRC Thumb fliers often hit a wall in their flying somewhere. But, the more important issue is to always use a neck strap. A neck strap holds the bulk of the transmitter, and allows the pilot to relax on the sticks. The DX6i is an especially bulky radio, and younger pilots with smaller hands, will find it difficult to grasp with a neck strap and impossible to grasp without.

  • i aint ready for 6 channel, im getiin the 4ch TREX 450 for my bday

  • @mapooman Just get the 6 channel and a god simulator. Spend plenty of time on the sim, then start slow and work your way up. Once you get the hang of a good 3d heli, it's hard to go back.

  • @daisy8luke Sorry, dude. That's a GOOD simulator.

  • lol

  • Great video. Quick question, @ 03:24 when you do those spins, I didn't see you compensating with the right stick. I was told that all helicopters bank/roll when you spin them, as does mine.

  • Is it possible so that you can switch to inverted flight while doing the loop?

  • dude, you are awesome at flying that thing.. How do you get a 3D heli to hover upside down?

    cheerrs

  • @Nitroazza Idle up.

  • I want to start with a 6ch is that a bad idea or do I need to start with a 4ch? I bought a cheap 3.5ch and was pretty good with it but I dont have any real experience what is the cheapest way to get into this hobby?

  • @MikeDMays Instead of rather buying 4 channel or a 6 channel, I would recommend getting a simulator, then switching quickly to a 6 channel after you master the simulator. A recommended simulator for RC Helicopters would be Phoenix v3, or you could buy Realflight.

  • for how much can i get this??

  • I figured since I've flown BIG 6 channel airplanes, that 6 channel would be a good place to start with a helicopter even if I took out some of the 3D features by trimming to the low limit, until I picked up on the basics. Then I could add in a little here/there. Dont think I'll go that route now that I'm seeing the small movements on the sticks. Saves me money and aggravation!

Thanks I needed to see this movement!!!

  • You don't use Idle up?

  • i just bought 3 heli's. Double Horse Volitation .Blade 120sr and an Esky belt 3D cpx. The Esky will have to sit on the shelf for awhile and look pretty why i get my wings with the other two heli's . Should be fun Happy Holidays Will and Happy Flying.

  • @martyisnuts Awesome, same to you. Funny I recently found my "Air Hogs" heli in the closet and was wessing around with it. This is the heli that started it all! =)

  • @MikeysRC while i'm looking forward to your 450 build videos. I'm sure i'll be using them to guide me in the near future.

  • @MikeysRC bad copers you should use a 9101 its balance is amazing i flew in in place it didn't move in the air !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MikeysRC I just bought a 3ch heli and a 4 ch airhogs helix 360. trying to learn and work my way up to a 6 channel. Have you flown the airhigs helix 360?

  • @martyisnuts hah i did the same thing except i bought a double horse 9104. I mastered the 9104, and thought the 120 would be similar......night and day. I finally got the hand of the 120 after a few flights...and crashes..cpx will go in the air soon!

  • @dcame002 now thats funny. i'm enjoying the heli's, Sounds like you are to.Ive been hovering around my apt. with the 120sr.getting the hang of it.I'd like to get outside more but to windy or to cold. At -19c outside i only got minutes out of the battery, shitty. Good news is i just got 5 batteries in the mail today. So now the fun begins. Happy flying friend.

  • @martyisnuts WOW thats too cold for my blood. I swapped from the stock battery to hyperion 550mAh 25c batteries. Big difference in performance on the already responsive heli

  • @dcame002 i'm using Tiger 600mah 15c . $13. on ebay for 5 batteries. getting 2 minutes extra flight time over the 500mah stock batt

  • La leva del gas ?

    E' a dx o sx?

  • @MegaRivas1 ?kay

  • I bet the dx6i with its receiver was not included in the price....$. Good flying.

  • Would*

  • You should show us how to do inverted tricks like upside down hovering. That good be very good :)

  • at the beginning why do you have a puppet (muppet)

  • @mrwarren2 really high... i have 3 and 4 planes... and 2 gyrocopters... they all go up about 100 feet except for my planes... they go higher

  • how high can he go?

  • Planes are better

  • Use the DX8, I just turned 12 and I got for my birthday, two days later I was doing 3D with my Blade mCP X

  • ARGHHHHh!!!! ITS A PUPPET, ARGHHH!!!

  • Excellent shutter-effect, looking down on the blades!

  • the blades looks like boomerangs when it fly!

  • How sensitive are the controls of these 6ch helis compared to the 4 rotor beginner helis? Bc I have just bought a 6ch twister cpx and already have had a couple of expensive crashes :( ...I find the controls too sensitive, coming from the 4ch of course..Any tips are greatly apprecited..thanks

  • @nim1mx

Tips - use training gear, and start with very basic hovering. Be patient. For a very long time.

Going from coax helis to collective will take a good amount of time, and lot's of practice. I think this is a masochistic hobby. But. I. Cant. Stop. Flying.

  • @ericsclips

thanks for the reply buddy. What would you recommend as a good 6ch heli for a first timer. I have a twister CPX and it goes all over the place as soon as it is about 3ft over the ground. It is almost impossible to get this thing to hover in one place. May be i need some more practice..Some say that these Chinese brands are rubbish to start off with...any thoughts on this..thanks :)

  • @nim1mx

Honestly, I'd recommend trying out the mSR - I have a fleet of helis now that I've learned through, and the mSR is quite the beast, you can smash it up and most of the time just dust it off and fly. When it does break, its a couple bucks at most. I got mine on ebay for 50 bucks and bound it to my Tx (Dx7). You can get your orientations down without the cost.

  • @nim1mx

When you're ready I'd then suggest getting into an align 450, or one of its clones. I havent tried a clone, however I did replace my 450's entire head assembly with a cnc clone and it flew beautifully. The parts are inexpensive, and they are quite stable. Without a doubt, if you dont have the Phoenix flight simulator, that's probably the best investment return you're going to get. Costs 0 to crash a simulated heli, and there's no risk of losing appendages!

  • very nice flying man

i just got me a graupner micro light indoor coax

and have a storm 450 on the way

but i'm on mac so i can't run flight sims

because i'm not gonna get me bootcamp or anything for windows programs

    this smart?

    or a total no go?

  • @csRocker Yeah you will be fine. Just get plentyof practice with the coax first. Then use my how to fly videos to get the basics down with the 450 also.

  • @MikeysRC hey thanks man

i'm flying non stop with the coax atm(for as far as possible with inly 1 battery and am doing just fine

    no crashing and such

i hope to have my 450 in about a week

and will take another look at your videos a couple times

  • @csRocker A good flight sim for the mac is made by laminar research.

    google it

    Hope that helps.

  • @Shelklas hey thanks man

    stumbled upon that one before

but is it any good for rc training with with rc heli remote

i didn't really found anything about that on their site

only one rc heli is in the aircrafts list

  • Hey! Nice video, thanks for sharing!:) I wondered about something though, which helicopter should I get, they have to fill these criteria:

Good, stable flight and good hover

    Good in windy conditions

    Collective pitch

Good quality, but NOT very expensive!

    Thanks!

  • @MotocrossLifeStyle Find a CopterX 450 helicopter and you will be happy.

  • @MikeysRC any of them?

  • @MotocrossLifeStyle A CopterX 450 V2 with a belt driven tail NOT a shaft driven tail.

  • 6:39 Lol "get her high"

  • Hi Will,

    I'm new at the 6ch.

In the config settings (Swash AFR), is this where I can set a lower number than 100% so the stick is not so sensitive? if yes what do you recommend?

  • @01gasman Yes, try 60.

  • Thanks Bro for info.

  • From 5:45 to 6:15 the rc helicopter's mother arrives to check on her baby.

  • the screen of the controller of the helicopter is doing differebt things that the helicopter do maybe they are not at the same time

  • you should have got the dx7 the 6i is not that confortable

  • im new, i dont know any rc helis. but what heli is that you got?

  • @MrSavinna It's a Trex 450 clone helicopter. 6 channel CCPM set up.

  • Dam my friend is a d**k, I was showing him how the water look when the Wasp V3 goes above water, Then he smashed my transmitter out of my hand and threw it into the pool, and the Wasp V3 fell in the water.

And i have to wait 2 more years for my dad to buy me another one. (he doesn't like Helis...)

  • @shartingninja what kind of friend do you have? sounds like a psycho. Make HIS dad pay for it. Stand up for yourself.

  • is that expo settings is must be set or we can live it 0%? am using futaba t6ex

  • @mobagskit You can leave it at 0 but for new pilots I would reccomend something like 50% at least.

  • @MikeysRC THANX A LOT FOR THE INFO MIKE

  • How do you control the motor speed on a 6 channel? Pitch control is with the left stick right? But before take off then how do you rev up the helicopter? Thanks

  • @GofCis The throttle channel is also miked into the left stick.

  • Hi, for hovering you keep the gas stick at 50% or above? I cannot see it clearly, tnx

  • you did not trim the heli properly.

  • @randomrcstuff O OK sorry.

  • i broke mins cuz i didnt know how to control it wut a waste of my moneh

  • nice vid peace

  • What I find really weird is that on all 3 channel helis the gear (spinning left and right) is on the right stick along with nick (foreward backward). Pitch (up and down) is the left stick.

However on this 6 channel heli pitch and gear are on one stick - the left one, whereas now roll and nick are right stick.

Do you know why it is like that? And will that take time to get used to? I mainly mean the gear's being on the other side now?

  • @skaterfugater Not sure why they do that. Check out my forum if you have more questions.

  • @skaterfugater yeah i thought that was strange too, been flying 3 ch for a couple years then went to a 4ch and had to relearn , and unlearn a few things. i think 2-3ch helis are good to see if you like the hobby enough, and then after you figure that out move to a 4 ch SR and practice with that till ya get used to the controls and orientation.b/c one you go 6ch, wrecks start to become pricy!

  • this was extremely helpful.

i just purchased a titan 450 (trex clone) off ebay and its my first 6 channel.

    very helpful. thanks!

at 4 mins and 18 seconds... i would be out alot of money... LOL

  • this was extremely helpful.

i just purchased a titan 450 (trex clone) off ebay and its my first 6 channel.

    very helpful. thanks!

  • @CadillacTheDude You're welcome!

  • those 3 dislikes are only people who have shares in algin and wont their product to be sold

  • Awesome flying Mikey. Just wanted to remind you one more time that we really appriciate your time, effort and energy you put into your videos. Im pretty sure thousands of people are inspired by your skills and tons of them learned very important lessons from your videos. Thank you so much for everything buddy. Keep up the amazing job!

  • @corizm1 Cool man thanks for letting me know! =)

  • Mikey im thinking of getting a cheap 6 channel heli and I was looking at a Walkera 22e its about $100 but has brushed motors or a honeybee cp3 which is basically the same only costs more what do you think?

  • @xToXiicxT3RRoRx You get what you pay for. Don't expect to have these helis form a long time.

  • @MikeysRC could you not just replace the brushed motors

  • @MikeysRC Also im not that serious about flying i fly rarely i just want something that is more stable in the wind than a coaxial and I thought that $100 for a 6 channel was very good my coaxial costs like $160 soo

  • umm no ur guide dident make me fly i drunk red bull and it gave meee wingsssss :)

  • @muckerxown Awesome. Either way you were flying and that's all that matters.

  • kl

with that kan u hover at like 3 metres and do back flips but not going forward

  • Those aren't PUPPET FINGERS on that DX6!....

    I feel cheated.

  • i have a eski heli, never flown it, had a friend fly it, its been sitting in the shed for a long time now, think i'll just take it out and fly, its a 6 or 7 channel, if it crashes...well then at lease it's not in the shed anymore....lol

  • where do you live? That's a great landscape to fly by.

  • I don"t have a RC helicopter

  • would you consider clearview flight sim a good base of learning?

  • Very nice flying Mikey, I have just purchased a MSR and have started to play and learn with this.

Hope to get as good as you.

  • Hey those are not your thumbs!

  • ok I'm realy good @ flying coaxel heli's.so I bought a 450 heli I have been hovering it sience 1-8-11 and this thing scares me I still can not hover nose in.should I just go ahead a do foward flying and see what happens..how do I get the nerve to do foward flyght?

  • @socalRooster Either get a simulator or you just gotta go for it =). If you can do some circuits in your co-ax then you should be ready to do some really slow flying circuits in your 450

  • @MikeysRC I need a 6 channel rc helicopter but I want to find the cheapest 1 for my new vid up to $160. How much did this heli cost? Email me at masok.aaron@yahoo.com if someone finds a cheap 6 channel rc helicopter for around $100

  • @13Airheads The white helicopter costs about $250.

  • Did you try FPV on helis ?

  • @MrBaufritz Yes. It's very difficult.

  • When will I be able to purchase this heli setup again.

  • @Bilp89 I'm not sure. I wish I could tell you.

  • is 6 ch harder than 4 ch pls anwser

  • @Fullmetal12234 Yes.

  • How do you stop the heli from spinning?

    Nice vid!

  • how did the heli spin if the throttle wasnt on

  • hey do you know the airplane of HuanQi vulture if yo know this do you can tell me if its good

  • @vikscents Sorry never heard of it.

  • it does not seem that responsive is it

  • Nice videos mate

  • hey also is this a 6 channel remote?

  • hey i ws always curious as to how it works when they have like a stealth bomber that has a door that opens on the bottom along with landing gear that pops out how is that controlled is that a top toggle ????

  • Okay I have been working on and off with the esky belt cp. (I usually work on the rc helicopters during the winter) I have been wondering how the hell to control the thing. I have balanced the blades, gotten the blades pitched out to zero in medium stick, and I have taken it out there and given it throttle, only to have it spin up with no lift off. What am I missing? Also what is idle up? I have not found a good place to learn what each control surface on the 6ch controller does...

  • pretty cool. I'm looking in to starting to fly. would you recommend an esky honeybee cp3 for a beginner? it's not like I have absolutely no experience flying. I can fly a 4 channel very well. and I want to be able to do 3D flight when I get comfortable with flying.

  • how many years you have to fly rc heliicopters before you are able to controll one like this

  • hopefully someday ill fly like that

  • great vid! helped a lot!

  • those blades so awesomly slow because of the fps of ur camera

  • if i buy the dx6i can i use this with any rtf heli or do i need to chage recievers or something.

  • @ZXETIT You will need to change the receiver to a spektrum 2.4ghz dsm2 for it to bind with the reciever

  • Docile set up

  • isent it close the same price as buying one of them other copters that has the extra blades on them to like one of thease

  • I see 4 channels in use the hover up down, and swing tail left right, etc. But what are the other 2 channels for? I've begun flying a blade MSR and have gotten use to a lot of the basic controls. Is flying a EXI 450 alot harder?

  • @littleAZN248 On a 6 channel heli actually only 5 channel are used. 3 channels are for 3 servos that control the swash plate on the heli that makes it go up and down and tilt any which direction. A 4 the channel is for the tail servo. And the 5th channel is for the motor.

  • @MikeysRC you're forgetting the Heading Hold Gyro switch

  • @MikeysRC the 6th channel is for the gyro ;-)

if you want to change it's sensitivity

  • @mancobooster Actually that's done on channel 5. Channel 6 is for the other "aileron" on a 6 channel helicopter.

  • @littleAZN248 flying a 6 channel such as the exi 450 is much harder then the blade MSR...the blade MSR is more stable then the exi 450 and the Blade MSR is very cheap and easy to repair...the EXI 450 is very difficult and expensive to repair

  • @abc11447741 Yea I see, What would be a good transition plane? Im really anxious to start moving on to larger heli's, they're funner than I thought. It be great if there was a transition plane that would allow me to transfer gear from the it to the EXI 450. There is one thing I'm still confused on what sizes do they come in from small to large? I know cars go with 1/36, 1/18, 1/16, 1/10... etc.

  • @littleAZN248 i do not know of a good transition heli but if you go to myrcguide (add the .com) and ask the people on the forum they will know the answer for sure :)

  • How do you know when the battery on the helicopter is running low?

  • @al93535 Every so often I give a quick flick of full throttle. Depending on how weak the motor sounds I can tell how the batter is doing. You can also set a timer. Most RC helis this size fly for between 8-10 minuets.

  • I couldn't coordinate / duplicate the stick movements you were using to fly it, guess I'm a crash and burn non-pilot to be - seems like a lot of possible ways to go wrong, I even got dizzy watching this thing fly.

    Yet' I want one.

I'll just glue it to the table and use it as a unique fan and flyswatter.

Might even spray a can of Raid into that downward prop wash and use it to knock out the roaches in my kitchen - true air born death from above.

  • hellow bro is it safe to play this rc??? i mean what if the blade cut off and went to your eyes???? i mean omg plss rep

  • HI, i`m having some troubles about the use of the remote control. I bought an E-Razor 450, and i dont know how to fly. i guess i may be using differentes positions on the remote control. anybody may help me?

  • @XinguXcoreX first read the manual so you know what each stick does. Then use my "how To Fly Helicopter" videos to teach you the basics.

  • nice flying... hope someday i can fly as good as you can...

  • Are they the new boomerang blades.. Lol

  • Your skills are very good but I don't think that this helps somebody learn to fly a heli by watching your stick movements. Best investment is a good sim and practicing, practising,... IMO

  • Hello i ve got a question my honey bee cp3 i am "testing" the controls on the ground and when i pull the right stick right the helicopter goes left whats the problem ang how to solve,/fix is pls write me back

    thanks

  • You man are a good pilot. Thumbs Up.

  • C00L,HELO PORN:D Yo Mikey, where did you get the puppet idea?

  • @USMCjunior117 Puppet was my own idea.....a twist on the old TV show Thunderbirds.

  • how long does the battery out of it? how long do you fly?

  • @fabienbable about 6-8 minuets depending on how hard you fly.

  • I am getting a Ninja 450 electric heli, and wanted to know, How is the Pitch, and throttle controlled at the same time? Or is it? And for inverted flying how is that obtained? I know how to roll the bird upside down just not sure how to get the rotor to thrust in the opposite direction.

  • @DKoppJr If your ninja is a RTF heli it should all be programmed in to the transmitter. So as long as you put the heli in "Idle UP" mode then you will be able to give it negative pitch for inverted flight.

  • ok cool. one more thing. i am looking to start flyin my own rc heli and i was doing some research to see which ones would be good for starting out and what kinda gear ima need(and ur tutorial videos helped ALOT). and i was goin to start out with a mini coaxial but im a pretty quick learner and ive watched ur vids so do u think it would be a good idea to go for like an outdoor/indoor one with a single axial?

  • whats the difference between 6ch and 4ch? what does it mean?

  • @hellrayzer21 it's how complex the helicopter is. 4 channel helicopters are only fixed pitch on the main blades so lift is relative to how fast the blades are spinning. But on a 6 channel heli the pitch of the blades is variable allowing for much greater flight performance.

  • что можно сказать - управлять такой "игрушкой" сложнее раз эдак в 1000 чем кажется... Причем, это охренительно сложно, то что на видео- это просто высший пилотаж!

  • they should make an rc exactly ocnfigured to the users ability. or example im good with a ps2 controller =3. l1 braks r1 throttle. l2 go down r2 go up hehe left joystick turns and moves helicopter right joystick banks helicopter HAHA

  • @sweetsongman1 ya know....that's actually a good idea!

  • Hi, what lipo are you using?

  • @wichotez 2200mah 11.1V 20C

  • Im Number 22,000

  • there is alot of expo and reduced travel on that dx6i

  • very cool video!

  • very good tutorial thanks to been able to see the remote

  • Great skills there Mikey...and good remote!

  • Are you using mode 1?

  • no mode 2

  • that tool box is from harbor freight, right?

  • Nope...just a Stanley =)

  • Look at 17 it stopped spinning but it was still flying

  • hey i got an msr and a busted esky belt cp v2 im upgrading it to an exi do you think i can hanlde it
