@tschuju That's not a stupid question. I believe there are multiple reasons for that. One could be measuring bigger than the other, one fertilized egg implanted earlier than the other or the eggs fertilized on different days.

I got pregnant while i was on the pill for 8 months, and my sister got pregnant a year after i did after she had been on the pill for over 2 years. IT HAPPENS. A LOT. Second, you didn't ovulate twice. You ovulated once... ovulation can take about 12-36 hours... and in that time, more than one egg can be released. The entire process (including all eggs that are released) is one ovulation. Obviously this isn't a huge deal, I just wanted to clarify. ;-)

What I am pretty sure happend in Jess's case is that when she stopped breast feeding, her body took a hormonal dip and caused an imbalance with the birth control and therefore she ovulated twice. I think she is what you would call a fertile mertile. Her body is sensitive to any hormonal changes.

I would like to clarify on the twins and birthcontrol comments. It is a common known thing that getting pregnant right after stopping birthcontrol does make you more at risk for twins because as the body is adjusting back to a normal hormonal cycle it can ovulate more than once due to a hormonal imbalance caused by stopping birth control.

I have a friend who got pregnant while taking the pill exactly how it should be taken (same time everyday, never skipped, etc.) and then again with an IUD in place which is supposed to prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years.
