@jeremyj0120 Glad you liked the video. If you ever get a chance to go to a California Superbike School you definitely should. It was the best riding experience I've ever had.
Go full throttle through the kink! should be the fastest part of the track so hit your brake mark everytime and throw it in nice throttle out kinda hard. gotta work on throttle and brake and LESS coasting. good luck with more trackdays.
I appreciate the constructive criticism, and like I've said watching the video is deceiving, and you can't really gage the speed very well. Sorry if it was boring, but don't worry there's lost of more exciting videos for you on youtube. I'll be looking forward to when you post an exciting motorcycle video here and show me how it's done.
Cool - although, it's kind of hard to gauge the track from the camera angle, but it did look like you were going easy through turns (safe mode). I also noticed you were decelerating prematurely approaching turns. 600 class are great on the track, but from the footage timer [1:05] I didn't feel the acceleration of a 600 - maybe it's because of the camera view. Still a lot of fun though. Ride safe!
Yes the camera is deceptive. It's really hard to gage the speed, but it's supposed to be an "easy" lap. The instructors watch the video with you later and talk about your body position, and critique your riding. Maybe I'll repost the video at 1.5x playback! :-P You ride safe too, and keep the rubber side down.
that's nice they taped all of the turn in points, I'm surprised they didn't bother to put a cone at the apex (at least the one they want you to follow)
It's a great school, and they do a lot of work with your vision when you're on a bike. They want you to find your own turning points (not just their "x" marks), and your own apexes and lines. And they want you to do that using markers that are on the track (or on a road in the real world). So not to give you a big orange cone to focus on that won't be there out on the roads.
dude, I dont wanna sound like an ass but there is no way this was 80%, looked slow as shit, more like 40%...nothing wrong with learning, just dont try to make Zx6r so slow:P
Don't worry, I know the video looks slower that it is. But trust me it's more than 40%. I was there for levels 1 and 2, and although I went there to learn, I've been riding motorcyles for more that 10 years now. The fastest riders there doing level 4 of the school could manage by the end of day 2 to get some laps under 2:00, but there were very few laps in the 2 days we were there that were less than 2 mins. Btw, all the gear we had was provided by the school, so none of that stuff was mine
Nice video.. Are you going slow on purpose 'cause the instructors wants you to & evaluate your video with the Xs you pass or you just want to learn the curves slow?
Actually the video is deceiving. I am running the bike at about 80% of what I would do as my "max" speed. That is what the instructors tell you to do. After your lap, you sit in a room and go over the video. This clip was my lap from day 2, so I felt very comfortable with the track and the different turns. It was a great school and one of the best things I've done. I will go back and do levels 3 & 4 hopefully this summer.
This looks very cool!! Something I think I'd like to try someday. Thanks for posting this video.

You're right clayton, my mistake. 2007 kawasaki zx6r 599cc. I'm not sure why I thought they were 636cc in '07 (or at all for that matter).
