Did you like living there? It seemed a nice place but we got awfully confused with directions...probably because UK towns aren't based on a grid system.
we went on a youth exchange to Anjalankoski and stayed in a hostel. but it was rly rly posh and nice. there was alot of snow when we went over which was awesome! Check out my 2 vids on finland =D
I went to Eastern Finland once back in the laet seventies during the days of the cold war iron curtain. When we drove along the Finnish road close to the border we weren't allowed to stop & certainly forbidden from taking photos. It had all changed a lot by 2004.
I stayed at the Pelishovi Hotel back in 1960. Nine hundred Fm at that time, 3 nights I think. btw, there was a dinner setup on the 2nd floor for a Soviet delegation so Finnish-USSR flags on each table. Being USAF at that time, I didn't go to the party:)

I love the country round Joensuu, i visited a lot of the nature parks in the area. I also remeber having breakfast in the main square in Joensuu.
