  • Herreweghe hasn´t a clue. He should be arrested for impersonating a conductor.

  • beautiful !

  • absoutoutly great performance the attitnai to detail in this performance is so great and the fact that you can hear indivudual layer is just great, just what herreweghe is known for

  • faal.

  • yay it's dutch!

  • Good performance, in my modest opinion, but should the "Funeral" be a little slower?

  • just started college music apprection , n have listen to his Symp. number 5 n this one i like this one more for now, how many symp. did he created wasnt it 9? thanks in advance

  • @DIRTYSOUTHHOUSTON He finished 9, but he had already began with 10th when he died. There were only sketches from that piece, but I heard some Beethoven expert used those sketches to re-make the first movement. He does say that it may very well be something completely different from what Beethoven actually would have wanted.

  • If this whole piece is almost an hour long, imagine how long they have to rehearse!

  • excellent performance, Philippe Herreweghe is one of my favourite conductors. Thank you for uploading

  • Just found this gem... It helps me train.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEETHOVEN !!!!

    ( 16 dec 2011 )

  • God please! help me understand! Why would someone dislike this video? :( I really cant find a good reason :(

  • @BeatySword perhaps they dislike that its just too good

  • @BeatySword

Dude, I was almost clicking on dislike as well, because I thought it ment: Dis I like.

I think some other people made that mistake too :(

  • @RoyalDutchDude haha XD

  • @BeatySword

because its a matter of taste... never heard of David Hume?

  • @BeatySword Because it sucks.

  • @EFmw2clan If something sucks, you dont have to dislike it right away, you suck too, but we dont execute you right away to show you that we dislike you.

  • @BeatySword If you don't like something, it's called "DISLIKING". That's what the button's for. You can vote my comment down too, if you DISLIKE it.

  • @BeatySword I think I know the answer to your question. Two possibilities -- no, make that three. First, they have tin ears. Second, they lack functioning brains. Third, both of the above.

  • @BeatySword Probably because it sounds wrong. The wrong instruments are highlighted at the wrong times and distort the work completely. I know the 3rd symphony intimately, but at times it was almost as if I was listening to this piece for the first time. If you want to hear how Beethoven intended this to be played, listen to a recording by the Berlin symphonic orchestra under the direction of Horst Stein. Not easy to find, but well worth the effort, I assure you.

  • @sakkiemekok I am really amazed how it is possible that someone like you who has some information about music, dislikes this. But anyway, I dont think you can prove that they highlighted the wrong instruments at the wrong times or whatever you said.Noone will ever play a music like the producer (componist) himself.

  • @BeatySword

I never said I disliked it, only that, in my humble opinion, it was played incorrectly, and that that could be the reason why some people gave it the thumbs down. As I said, just my humble opinion, nothing more than that.

  • @sakkiemekok Well then again, you proved what I say. People who have the same knowelegde of music as you do, will think the same as you, so just like you didnt dislike this video, they wont dislike that video too. So I am still left with the question, why would some really dislike this video? (You earned my respect but not disliking this video, though)

  • @BeatySword

i disliked WHAT U GONNA DO ABOUT IT SON !

  • @megodgast just gonna wonder why you did it

  • @BeatySword

    because i can (:

  • best piece of music to study to....helps a lot. thx good old van!

  • Coda way too fast. A mess!

  • @zoranrosendahl DE DIRIGENT IS WEL VLAMING

  • @TheTristan1954 Excuses, daar had ik geen weet van. (:

  • @zoranrosendahl Ph.
