I know SEGA went through a lot of trouble attempting to port TETRIS to the mega-drive. They managed to get a cartridge in stores, but only four or so copies were sold, making it incredibly rare. Unfortunately nobody has yet released a rom of these cartridges, lol.

So here you say you're using a MAME (eg Arcade) version-- and it seems to be endorsed by SEGA- but it bears striking resemblance to a chinese bootleg.

Is this an official, ELORG-licensed Tetris arcade game that was bootlegged to MD?

Hi. This is the MAME version of "Tetris Bootleg" also called Sega Tetris. The filename is tetrisbl. It can be found on most ROM sites if you are familiar with MAME. Unfortunately it was not listed on ROM Nation dot net anymore.

Well, using a keyboard is a bit more difficult than using a joystick when you play puzzle games like this.
