  • If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again.

  • Oh god, Alex (ander Phipps) suuuuure is enjoying her brother's company... I smell fanfic!

  • There is so much gay subtext. It's surprisingly deep for a contrived, electric appliance propaganda short if you know where to look.

  • "Book gook?!" Jesus Christ!

  • @Kibonsensei Dumbledore: What the hell is a 'book gook'?

  • @HinataChick38

Well, book is clear enough, but gook is what American military used to call the Vietnamese during the war.

  • "go sit on a carrott" LOLLLL

  • "I'm back from the 20s" LOLLLL

  • Ahhhhhh...a family's bizzare love of electricity

  • Oh Mom, how 'bout some of those hot biscuits of yours?

  • Ugh, I had a set of dining chairs like those, inherited from my grandmother for my college apartment...

  • I think Alex has enough time for his friend ..shower time ohohoho

  • Wait, why is the daughter angry at her brother? Was he supposed to serve his friend in a silver plate?

  • The name is Alex...ander Phipps

  • I like how at 2:51 the teenage daughter slips up and shows she has been hanging around black rappers! lol...no racist

  • Not sure if movie is about boy meets girl, or the wonders of electricity...

  • THE TEENAGE GIRL IS PRETTY BUT SHES IS SUCH A FLOOZE

  • "Hey, it's the electric phone!"

  • "um...that's nice ma'am but I am just trying to sell my magazines"

  • You know, in all seriousness, the storyline for this short would have made for a nice 1950s romantic comedy. I am just saying.

  • Here's a riff i would've used: "PLEASE somebody elect and shoot Kennedy already and GET THIS OVER WITH!!"

  • Damn,How old is the Brother 45, he looks like a Combination of an older George Mcfly and Buddy Holly.

  • I love watching this with my electric internet.

  • "Im back from the twenties" hahahah

  • All the "electric [this-and-that}." Did Con Ed make this thing?

  • @Athils No, it was made by Jam Handy for the Westinghouse Company

  • AND I'M THE BEASTMASTAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Well, you throw yourself at anything with a--"

She should have paid attention to the letter saying Alex(ander) had a "job on the construction crew" and picture him in the 50's equivalent of Timberline boots, worn Levi's, and safety vest that shows the tan and tattoo...she would have squishy hours before.

  • I would have watched the whole video but I was late for my Hitler Youth meeting. :(

  • Did we... did we EVER talk like this? EVER?

Also, this film was brought to you by the Electric Council of America. Be sure to store your electricity safely and only use it in the pursuit of the American Dream.

  • "Sounds fun..I gotta get outta here" lol

  • What is this whole thing about? Is it a sex ed film, or a sales film or what?

    It makes me feel......uh....all squishy.

  • Wait, if the iron isn't electric, why is it visibly plugged in? So much so she unplugs it onscreen.

  • An electric ironer? Apparently it's not the thing plugged into the wall that she's ironing with.

  • @scout2010 After posting the exact same thing I've concluded it's probably some kind of hybrid, going by the time period. It may use electricity without being fully electric... somehow. That or it's just a massive goof.

  • The news announcer @ :30 sounds like the narrator from "Body Care and Grooming".

  • That Alex guy looks like Rick Astley...

  • That's funny. When Alexander Phipps looks at me, I get squishy too.

  • "Your the twin without the Tony"? WTF does that line even mean? Are these guys Engineering students or Broadway producers?

  • @DStalnaker13 They are referring to Toni Home Permanent, which had a popular ad campaign at the time this film was made, with the slogan "Which Twin Has The Toni?"--one had used the product and the other had a professionally done permanent.

  • Alexander is a awesome name! How does it sound revolting to you Judy! ):-

though I admit "Phipps" is weird sounding

  • "Dad kinda fancies himself quite a cook ever since we got our electric range, huh?"

Crikes, what were they cooking on before, that Dad couldn't be trusted to go near it??

  • What the hell is the point of this film?

  • @PirateOfTheInternet That socially isolated women, by using their wiles ,electric appliances, and feigned interest in "time studies", are fully capable of duping college-educated men.

  • A real cool Jonah? What the heck does that mean?

  • @LeeCarvello1 That he's really popular with whales? :)

  • haha. i almost fell out of my chair when he sang the patty duke show theme while she's cleaning.

    "....xander phipps."

  • So this is what women did before cellphones

  • Oh, man, this short is painful. Were it not for the MST3K folks, this would be murder.

  • "I do wish you'd speak English like NORMAL people." Ouch.

I love "Mother? Is space curved?" One of those riffs where you wonder WTF made them think of it.

  • The name is Alex...ander Phipps

  • Why would she ask for an electric ironer when she is using one?

  • @LedZeppQueenBeatles An ironer is a large appliance, with a heated drum through which one puts the clothes...if you've ever seen a wringer on an old time washing machine the concept is somewhat similar.

  • 4:00

Does anyone else think that looks like the Huxtable house's living room?

  • @pressedlee123: I thought the same thing! :D

  • "I stayed under for quite a long time."

    "WOW."

  • Alexander Phipps is hott

  • Alexander Fips.

  • "just don't use his razor - he goes BALLASTIC!"

  • I'm getting a strong Brick Politt/Skipper vibe off of Alex and brother

  • So...this short is a random "romantic comedy" meant to promote...electricity!?

  • squishy???

    WTF????

  • @cavalierfan1995: What did she mean by that?? :D

  • hey!the electric phone

  • ahh make with the chow broads

  • The sister looks like Carrie Fisher.

  • Which episode is the line, "He'll never touch you Terri you're dirt" in? It's one of their ongoing jokes.

  • @MelissaTwosheds Teenage Crimewave (Ep 522) - it is a fantastic episode!

  • "Besides, we wanna catch a shower."

    Crow: "Whoa, look out."

Servo: "Join us later if you want, Mom."

The reaction of all three is priceless

  • I am the only one who thought that this short was funnier than the actual movie they showed?

  • The bacon truck is here!!!

  • Say what you want about the short, but at least the children aren't disgustingly pleasant to each other.

  • Whoa whoa! What was that remark at 2:58? You'd better watch your language young robot!

  • Well, thank goodness for my electric dress.

  • @Pumpkinart i was just going to say this in a comment. Hahaha.

  • A "Book Gook"?????????

  • he'll never touch you terry, you're dirt.

great short, they totally nailed it.
