do you recommend the mpc for drum n bass? i am looking for a groovebox that is more in the sampler side (for sound processing and generating i have a doepfer and a minimax abs)...i love your vids and seem to be the only ones in the youtube doing drum n bass beats with the mpc... i just wanna do crazy drums and have a sampler and nice sequencer... my other idea is the ESX, but i dont see it very reliable in live situations and the interface is not so attractive (no touch pads)...
MPC is awesome for drum n bass. Very versatile. You can trigger different tracks thus introducing new elements as a track progresses. Using this creative method of touching the pads to create rhythms you can create beats that you wouldn't normally wouldn't by penciling them in in a sequencer program like reason or other. A used MPC 1000 goes for less then 800 on ebay..?? (I think)
tis very true. However a cheaper alternative would be to get a pad controller such as akais mpd24/18/16 models and use the pads to control the mixer mute buttons. This is definitely possible in Reason and I would have thought some other software as well. Worth looking up if it could save you a few hundred (pounds/dollars)
Exactly. I have the LFO set to start at like the "3" out of ten, so there's a little delay before it wobbles, then I have not much sustain, and relatively quick decay so the the sound changes relatively quickly compared to how long the note is held. Juno +sherman= good wobble sound!
no such thing as jungle drums. Each single "hit" is taken from a sample disc, or sampled by the MPC itself. Then the hits are sequenced, or arranged into patterns that sound like this. You can also make different rhythms or patterns. These are not loops.
I know how to call it! "meow wobble wah" ;)
