  • PANAMERICAN GAMES IN SOUTH AMERICA IS BETTER...

  • @sxunkxs really ?

  • This will beat Vancouver/

  • Vancouver is, well. It's #1 in the world on every statistic. I live here, and I lived in Toronto - funny thing is, we don't need a favorite I have two.

  • @Anon7771 A larger population and military doesn't exactly make a country superior. One thing I love about Canada is that there's lot's of room. Our backyard is huge, and most of it's untouched. Not a bunch of cities crammed together. Canada also has a lot of powerful friends in the World. If the U.S. ever tried anything crazy, they'd regret it.

  • Man! look at the ACC at 2:50 with all the leaf fans, playoffs

  • T.DOT REPRESENT!!!

  • Sports!! Is the best way of brainwashing after the TV!! Give people poisen to eat, and feed them with sport!? Who's idea was that? Does anyone know!? Learn, Research and INFORM before its to late!! Wake up!!

  • your right in some ways more ppl obv,the us has more big cities but toronto is one of the biggest cities in north america and biggiest business districts out there, more power depends what topic were on Canada has alot of pull on certain things, more history dont know about that one both countrys have alot of history of their own!!!

  • Toronto got the best hockey fans and mls soccer fans

I think Toronto 2015 will be one of the best ever Pan American Games, if not, the best. The people in Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe are very friendly. We hope to see everyone here in Toronto in 2015!

  • I like Toronto but there is a lot dirty streets and people. Don't be fooled.

  • Toronto FTW!

  • 2:18 is a great shot of the city.

  • Toronto would be a really great place to hold any kind sporting event, it's got all the right facilities

  • Netflix Canada launches Tomorrow!

  • DEFINITIVAMENTTE lebakcire CANADA ES UN PAIS MUY DESARROLLADO, Y YA HIZO LOS JUEGOS OLIMPICOS DE INVIERNO 2010, EL COI DEBERIA HACER UNA NORMA EN QUE UN PAIS PUEDA ORGANIZAR COMO MAXIMO UN EVENTO OLIMPICO YA SEA DE INVIERNO O DE VERANO, HAY QUE DAR LA OPORTUNIDAD A LAS DEMAS NACIONES DE PODER DESARROLLAR MEDIANTE LOS EVENTOS DEPORTIVOS MUNDIALES, PORQUE TB SE VE UN RACISMO A LOS PAISES SUBDESARROLLADOS PARA MUESTRA UN BOTON, LONDRES ES UNA CIUDAD QUE TIENE DOS OLIMPIADAS ORGANIZADAS

  • @leyrenzo LOL LIma sucks Bogota sucks. Stop crying you whiny little bitch.

  • @russiantrams i love my city dude, so fuck off.... you must be jealous cuz u do not live here in T.O. ... oh yeah it means TORONTO DUDE!!!

  • @MayerGartley Jeaulosy is the only reason Canada hates Toronto. They think we run the country? Hopefully they know about a city called Ottawa..... If that isn't the reason, then somebody from Montreal or Vancouver or any Toronto-hater; explain to me why you hate us so much. We're not like New York, we do not wish to mimic that of an American city. The multi-culturalism may dilute the Canadian-ness in the city, but trust me: it is still Canadian.

  • @GarryTheGluestick That is so true, eventhough most of the canadians who live outside Toronto think that we are as americans.... that is not true at all... We are canadians, and we are proud to be here :). Sometimes yeah it is difficult to understand the constantly changes that toronto has everyday, but that makes it cool, and original. I don't hate Toronto at all if is what you were thinking. I do love it actually! I am proud to be Canadian. I am glad to be torontonian....

  • @MayerGartley Haha, I already knew you were from Toronto, I just wanted to get that point out there. In my honest opinion, Toronto adds a little spicyness to Canada (not that there isn't any) and I think Toronto greatly benefits our country; people simply choose not to think so.

  • @GarryTheGluestick I love Toronto! Such an amazing, beautiful and kick ass city. Very different from Montreal (which I also love) but both have their appeal. Toronto did not feel very American to me. In fact, it felt about as Canadian as you could get. Believe it or not, Canada is an Urban country, not a rural one and Toronto is the central of urbanity in our fine country!

  • @prothobs I agree. Where in Canada are you from?

  • @GarryTheGluestick I am from Winnipeg. A once thriving urban center in Canada in desperate need of some fixing up in the down town.

  • @prothobs Haha, cool. I'd like to visit every part of Canada someday. :D

  • I love my city but well, sometimes =) !! Can't wait for 2015 yeah :D:D:D

  • Yep my home XD!!!

  • NADIE DUDA QUE CANADA SEA MEJOR SEDE QUE PERU Y COLOMBIA... PERO UN PANAMERICANO, MUNDIAL O JUEGOS OLIMPICOS... AYUDAN MUCHO AL DESARROLLO DE UN PAIS Y CANADA YA ES UN PAIS SUPERDESARROLLADO DEBERIAN DAR LA OPORTUNIDad de CRECER A CIUDADES COMO LIMA Y BOGOTA QUE LO HUBIESEN HECHO MUY BIEN!!!

DEBERIA PARAR EL MONOPOLIO DE OPORTUNIDADES PARA LOS PAISES SUPERDESARROLLADOS.. YA DEMOSTRARON CON BRASIL.. Q ORGANIZARA UN MUNDIAL Y LAS OLIMPIADAS... CANADA YA ORGANIZO LOS JUEGOS DE INVIERNO!!

  • Since the United States wont go for another bid in the fear of rejection. All of North America's dreams of hosting the 2020 Summer games lie in the hands of the great city of Toronto.

    Toronto 2020!!!!!!!

Dallas 2024 (2020 dream was nice while it last)

  • and P.S. russiantrams is just jelous he doesn't live in toronto.

  • I'm originally from south carolina but i'm in toronto right now at university, and i compleatly love it. it's a great city, they'd be awesome at holding these games

  • what a collasal waste of money, Toronto needs a retrofit.

  • @Love4SK

toronto's economy can be boasted on tourism

  • flawless until ~ the G20 / G8 :(

  • wtf is this shit. Fuck u dirty ass fags.

  • I've met David miller before and I know his son he is friends with a lot of my friends.

  • humm, everybody seems to think toronto is cold 365 days a year... toronto can be an absolute steam bath in the summer

  • @NORTHinuit You're absolutely correct. There is this incorrect impression overseas that Toronto and indeed the rest of Canada is cold year round. We have 4 full seasons with the extremes of temperatures that come with them. Toasty in summer and cold in winter.

  • No one Cares about the Pan Am Games

  • @TheCrowneJewel The International Olympic Committee does. After all, Rio hosted the 2007 Pan Am Games, which boosted its bid for the 2016 Olympics. Toronto surely wants to follow the steps of Rio for the 2024 or 2028 Olympic Summer Games.

So, yes, many important people care about the Pan Am's.

  • @russiantrams

    stop being a fucking cunt.

i love toronto and would definitely go there if a big event was held there so shut the fuck up. im english btw.

  • @russiantrams

lmao russia is a dirty shithole anyway, full of neo-nazis, bad weather, communists and twats like you, so fuck off.

  • @russiantrams in this city we shit on russian sluts and kick russian fags asses so come visit we'll show you a good time!! daaa darling

  • @russiantrams That's what you guys said in 1972 during the famous Hockey match between Canada and the USSR and LOoK WHO GOT THEIR ASS KICKED!

  • @russiantrams go cry in a corner. We will destroy RUSSIA in 2014!!

  • Canada is the best!!! fuck whoever disagrees we have the most freedom of any other country, not to mention the best backyard in the world. if you got a problem with that you can take it up with all 32 million of us.

  • @Fireupatree , 34 million now

  • @Fireupatree Um,There's 300 million Americans down below and your country is barely bigger than ours.

  • @Anon7771 wut you trying to say bud??!?

  • @Fireupatree The U.S. is superior to Canada in a lot of ways. More people, bigger cities, more power, more hisotry without Britain.etc.

  • @Anon7771 why do you have to say that ive met alot of americans that r nice and then there are people like u that r ruin canadas view of americans... we can all get along

  • @Tryhard341 I just don't want this guy to get more of his 5 minutes of being entirely right.

  • Toronto is a piece of shit. No one would ever come to the Olympics if it was hosted in this hell hole. Fuck immigrants

  • @russiantrams Whatcha you say?!?!

  • @russiantrams go to hell you whiny little bitch. Oh wait a minute you already live there.

  • One more time Canada?????.....bored!!!!

    I prefer Latin America.

    I think Canada bribed judges

  • fuck this city is gay

  • @russiantrams Then you're gay. Canada is the most peaceful Canada on earth.

  • I hope that Toronto can host the 2020 summer Olympics

  • i dont think Canda will host the Olympics for a longgg timeee

  • @DanielCMM Actually, they're hosting the upcoming 2014 Olympics IN Toronto.

  • @vistarox They're hosting the 2014 summer olympics

  • @WilliamUzumaki99 No we're not

  • @vistarox Well, it is an Olympic.... Right?

  • @vistarox What nvm... i just remembered that it's london... but we're hosting the 2014 olympics i think

  • I'm upset enough that we're hosting the Pan-Am Games (I live in the Greater Toronto Area and will be attending the University of Toronto, so I'm living right in the city soon). An estimated $1.5 billion wasted on temporary games while that money could've been spent on Toronto's public transportation system which is far behind most major cities. Or even better yet, affordable housing for Toronto's poor, or making sure public workers are better paid. The Olympics would be terrible for the city.

  • @BloggerMusicMan Yet considerening that there is a growing amount of obese children in the world, I think it's good that we encourage children to play active.

  • @NintendoSpoofer

Then put that $1.5 billion towards physical education, parks and recreation, funding municipal athletics, etc. Private grassroots organisations can also help in this, but that is what the City of Toronto can do if that's actually their concern. Not host a two week event where most of those kids would probably end up ironically sitting in front of the television to watch the Games.

  • @BloggerMusicMan Good point about the TV! : ) Ofcourse than you probably don't like the Olympics either right?

  • @NintendoSpoofer

Yes. I'm not a critic of the Olympics as a concept. I think an international sporting event is a wonderful idea. But I detest the way it's run. I criticize the use of public money and I also think because it's moved around every four years it requires unnecessary and excessive environmental destruction, heightened taxes, debt, and poor people usually get screwed. In Vancouver, the homeless population multiplied in the Downtown Eastside because of development for the Games.

  • @NintendoSpoofer

Thanks for the civil discussion by the way. Keep in mind I'm no expert. I'm simply a layman who likes to research and discuss issues.

  • @BloggerMusicMan Anytime. Same here with the destruction and money spent. Ofcourse in such a world, nothing is free. We created our own cacoon of money and profit which is nothing more than processed wood and metal with an innexistant value priced on it like a carving on the skin of a living creature.

  • @BloggerMusicMan But it's the society in which I have grown up in and to me it feels absolutly normal. Is humanity normal? Are our systems normal? They may not be the natural system but they work for us. I just don't quite know yet and it's a question I'm gonna be asking myself for a very long time.

  • @vistarox lol, why do you want toronto to host the 2020 summer olympics? have the olympics somewhere else, maybe in a country that needs help with their tourism industry, or needs government investments for professional training facilities. Toronto doesn't need the olympics. olympics = more taxes

  • @vistarox 2024 is more likely

  • lima need to be the place, will help the contry to develop, canada dont really need,is all ready rich enaugh, think about it,is time to share.

  • I hope I get to see the day that Toronto hosts the Olympics. It'd be THE perfect place to have it.

What better place to host the world than the place that hosts the world already!

  • Can I tell you something, Canadians cities have hosted Winter Oylumpics exactly 12 years about. Montreal 76, Calgary 88 and Vancouver 2010 :P Maybe we should host the Toronto 2022. :P

  • A lot of cities in Asia are emerging and they can bid for the next following Olympics in the future. And after Rio, what's stopping other South/Central American countries to bid and win? I'm pretty sure South Africa is going to bid after hosting the World Cup. And 2022? Toronto is not a good option for Winter Olympics, but Summer. 2024 Perhaps.

  • I live in england but want to live in Toronto!!!

CANADA no.1 country in the world :)

  • Small town feel...um not downtown.Or midtown.Or downtown Etobicoke,NYCC,...lol what am I typing about,yes in bedroom communities.

  • lima next time, toronto is to cold..

  • not in the summer idiot

    and it's BEATIFUL!!

    and i'm not canadian

  • the summer idiot, what kind of summer is that..!!

canada for sure is beautifull,no you..

bud i prefer lima, real panamerican city.

    and is allways warn

  • it's an hot summer and i'm portuguese i'm accustomed to hot temperatures like 40ºC or more you piece of shit

lima is poor and fucking ugly (as you are and your family but you were adopted) it looks like rio with shanty towns.

    now fuck your self

i hope you die with the fucking tsunami seu merdas.

you like canada fair enaugh, bud canada dont like you,and to be honest no body is talking or care about you small forgotten contry portugal, whit the non comercial language too,so think about it

  • I cryed :[ .... Toronto i love u ~

  • congrats toronto

  • Ok,, all cities were very good, Toronto won and they deserve it. I was born in Bogota though, I was dissapointed, but there's no need to attakc each other. I know Canada is probably the best 1st world country, or at least Canadians, because there is no true "canadian" more than half ppl here are immigrants, the only natives are like in Iqaluit. Toronto is like a city of the world, where everyone is welcome, unlike other countries who hate immigrants. Canada rocks! And a Colombian says so..

  • Toronto is the best!!

  • Toronto is the best

  • Do you think that Panama City, Panama would be a good host fr 2019? It looks like a really cool place

  • 2019 will South America's time. Lima will bid again, and so will Bogota or Colombian city. I might throw in Santiago but they're a bit hesitant to host. Unless there's Carribean/Central American like Kingston, Jamaica, San Jose, Costa Rica, or Panama. It's anybody race.

  • Yes the Pan Ams were a 2nd rate event, but Rio changed them into an olympic level, such as the Commonwealth Games or the Asian Games.

The Pan American Games had a huge impact in Rio's bid to host the Olympics.

And hosting the Pan Ams in 2015 will be a great step for a possible 2020 or 2024 Olympic bid.

  • I prefer Toronto/Hamilton bidding the Commonwealth Games in 2022. I think 2020 is a bit too soon.

  • I mean Summer Olympic Games, not the British Empire Games.

Beijing won the 2008 Olympics because they had a major investment program of 30 billion dollars. At the end they spent some 40 billion dollars. The 2004 Athens' games costed 10 billion dollars and Sydney 7 billion dollars.

Toronto's bid was just "simple" like Athens, Sydney, Seoul, Barcelona, etc.

And the IOC was tired of this worldwide culture. They prefered 12 Girls Band than Celine Dion.

  • No I really don't think we should stack our chips on the 2020 Summer Olympics so soon until we get some games experience. We took a lot of risk when we bid in 96 and 2008. One small Mel Lastman joke cost us everything. (cont'd)

  • If we do well hosting Pan Ams in 2015, we achieve the trust of 42 members that we we're willing and able to host a Summer Olympics. If we bid for the Commonwealth Games, we achieve the trust of 53 more members minus the Carribean countries Guyana and Belize. That's a lot of trust. We need all the trust we can get to win a Summer Olympics. Dalton McGuinty made it clear. It's all about personal relationships.

  • Yes, you're right.

But you guys should really bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics, because than I could see Celine Dion singing at the handover ceremony in Rio in 2016, but Celine is from Quebec, right?

So, it's ok, can be 2024 or 2028.

  • Celine Dion is from Montreal but she's currently living in Las Vegas with her hubby Rene Angelil. If I was a producer doing the handover ceremony, I wouldn't place her on the bill. She's been used so many times in Atlanta and Kuala Lumpur I think it's overkill. There are plenty of musicians who substitute. Shania Twain, Alanis Morrisette, Emily Haines, Fiest, Nelly Furtado, Lights, Fefe Dobson, Avril Lavigne, Susie McNeil, Jully Black, Keisha Chante the list goes on. Toronto can do much better.

  • by that time, i think justin bieber would be the only relatively 'young' Canadian singer :)hahaha

  • Yeah I'm kind of hesitant of naming artists. The list I gave are artists that made the trend throughout the last decade. But you never know what next big star would come. But hopefully I'm careful of my selection. First thing you notice they sound awesome. The next thing they sound like Whitney Houston! =oS

  • Comment removed

  • YEAH! Here's what the biddings should be like. Montreal 76 Calgary 88 Vancouver 2010 Toronto 2020 Ottawa 2028 Winnipeg 2036 Quebec City 2042 Edmonton 2050 Maritimes 2058. :P
  • Like I said before. We should really aim for the 2022 Commonwealth Games so we can get some more game experience leading up to the a bid for the Summer Olympics possibly in 2024 or 2028.

  • stupid china had to steal toronto's bid on the 2008 summer olympics!

  • Stupid atlanta had to steal toronto's bid for the 1996 Summer Olympics!

  • Congratulations Toronto

  • this is great news!!! Toronto should do an X Games next

  • lima is the best !

  • Why You wanna do the panam again u did it three times! you should let south america do the panam for sure you offer money to th odepa cause before the election canada had a private meeting with the members and journalists weren't allowed why uh? Canada solo gano por el dinero !

  • Ah quit your whining! Mexico hosted the games three times as well. And nobody's complaining!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes I know Mexico dit it thee times but Mexico is not South America Oh I forgot Usa and Canada think that they are just north america and the rest the undevelopped countries are southamerica am I wrong?

  • Comment removed

  • Oh C'mon. I'm not going to debate about which countries are developed and which are not. You should know this already. Lima and Bogota came to Guadalajara, did their best, and Toronto went on top. Get over it. Mexico is not exactly a developed country. So don't give me that excuse they can't do it. They just need to have lessons in presentation. That's all there is to be said. Thanks for playing. Now move on to 2019.

  • isnt mexico central america??

  • you see you don't know geography at all mexico usa and canada are northamerica and the rest are central and southamerica!

  • get a map

    or google maps...

  • mexico is north america,no south,not central,learn geography

  • @83magrelo stop being a whiny little bitch. Canada won fair and square.

  • YEs .... TORONTO the bes Country in the world

  • bogota was the best it was ready to have the panamerican games but once again the wrong image of the latinamerican world wins

they think that we dont konw about tecnology buildings and shopping centers but thats so wrong we are just the same as your cities dont think that we are ignorants gorillas

VIVA LATINOAMERICA SOMOS MAS DE LO QUE PIENSAN LOS DEMAS

  • "technology buildings and shopping centers"? WTF? We're just there to bid, and we won! Tell Shakira I said hi. =o)

    '

  • No escribas tonterías...cuántas medallas olímpicas alcanzó Perú las últimas olímpiadas?

  • I'm from Toronto and I don't know many athletes from Lima who are well known worldwide. I know Pele though! No wait a minute that's Brazil.

  • Alright, let's see, in volleyball we kick your ASSES like 2726274 times, in soccer...well you don't have any players that anybody knows, for us...let's see theres Teofilo Cubillas, Cholo Sotil...I can go on but damm I lost count already. And what's with the marihuana leave on your flag man, wtf. Should I say more, google those people that I mentioned and you'll know what I mean.

  • Hey. I'm not going to compare any wins and loses between countries or whine about "my country is better than your country". No. Toronto just came, did their presentation, won the games, and left the building. Why may I ask? Because Toronto rehearsed for a year. We had experience from our failed Olympic bids. I would love to see Bogota or Lima go up against Beijing or Atlanta. You wouldn't survive the 1st round. I'm not gonna argue. Rio won the Olympics. Now enjoy your spoils!

  • I never said anything about who's country is better or worse, where did you get that?Im just saying we got better atlethes that's all kid, is not about countries. And I really hope Lima would get its chance, cos we deserve it. Yeah, it stinks that toronto won, I guess blackberries are really important for judges.

  • Ok. You got better athletes. But one can not dispute that Canada rules in ice hockey. Well, maybe the Russians or the Swedes. They can't stand us winning World Hockey Championships. The sweet is never sweet without the sour. Oh and bye the way. Did you know that Blackberries were invented in Canada? Their headquarters is in Waterloo, Ontario. =o)

  • yeah and that worked very well with the judges, bribing them with fancy blackberries so they can get more votes. And hockey? I guess I can say that you guys are better than other countries, no doubt about that. Look I love Canada specially its people like Neil Young, Michael J. Fox and so on....I'm just saying it was not a fair count by the judges. DAMM THOSE BLACKBERRIES!!!

  • You know I had that feeling about an unfair count when Beijing won the 2008 Olympics so that they can get Jacques Rogge votes for the IOC presidency. Or when Atlanta won the 1996 Olympics all because of their major sponsor Coca-Cola. But you know something? It's only temporary. It'll all pass by. Someday you won't have to worry about these glitches. =o)

  • I knew it .... the other contenders were just no match for TORONTO.

    GO TORONTO GO

  • BOGOTA 2015

  • They chose the best city of the 3!

    CONGRATULATIONS TORONTO!

The other 2 will have to work to join the 1st World.
