  • Huh?, Lynda & Scherrie can out sing Mary easily , Miss Mary is the Bitter, Jealous, Backstabbing Bitch & the one responsible for screwing up the tour for Herself & Cindy, Mary managed to convince Cindy to let HER Negotiate for both of them, Mary was offered 4 Million Bucks, 135k per show (10x her best Solo fee @ the time), Cindy was only offered 34k per show, because Miss Mary NEVER BOTHERED to ask for one cent more for Cindy, She was only out for herself & to get Parity with Ross

  • This was a massive slap in the face to Mary and Cindy, but Diana didn't care about their feelings back then, and she still don't.

Scherrie and Lynda would probably toiling in musical obscurity(sp?), had it not been for Mary. They are such traitors.

  • Actually, Vocally, This was as good as it could have been, Had Flo been alive, it could have really been something, Mary & Cindy could Never match Lynda or Scherrie Vocally, Thats all about Spin & Image, Not Reality

  • The worst grouping of Supremes...EVER!

  • I was born 3 decades too late.Thank God people are still keeping GOOD MUSIC alive! I love Diana & the Supremes, temptations,Jackson 5, James Brown,Four tops...the list goes on! THE CHOCOLATE GENERATION ROCKS!!! LOL!

  • Diana is the bomb forever and Mary Wilson is a dumb old tired BITCH...

  • You can Have Miss Mary anytime you like for a Hit of Crack & a Free Meal! Go Get Her Drillin4Oil !

  • Lynda and Scherrie aren't so great. Mediocre at best and they try to overcompensate for that with their sassy over-gesturing. Give me Flo or Cindy any day.

  • Perhaps you're right bellcharo, Exploitation of "The Supremes" Trademark is Best Left to Manipulative Mary, Who else could make a Buck displaying Diana's Old Costumes

  • Regardless of what pissed-off Diana fans write, this video shows clearly why the RTL tour failed. The promoters wanted to cash in The Supremes legendary name; Ross agreed as long as she could remain doing her solo act with "the girls" serving as visual props in the background. Supremes Mary and Cindy decided not to participate in the rip-off. Supreme fans stayed away. Tour cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Period.

  • "The Supremes" could have been just about anyone, Andantes, Johnny Bristol or anyone else who happend to be in the Studio, Diana was the only "Must Have" when recording, Love Child & Someday We'll be Together underscore that point, Not a Supreme to be found on either recording

  • Sorry, this is ain't no mutha f**** Supremes, where is Mary and R.I.P Flo! This is some bullshit and Diana knows it!

  • Kurt, Honey, I really doubt Miss Ross thinks about RTL anymore, What "She Got" in the end is 5 Beautiful kids, a fortune of over 150 Million Dollars & remains an Icon & Superstar, How are you Doing?, Section 8 Housing?, Food Stamps?, Are you getting what you Deserve?

  • This phony reunion should be called DIANE FALSE AND THE EXTREMES!!!!! Diane should be ashamed of herself for trying to dupe the public with these phony Supremes! She sure paid the price with national humiliation, alcoholism, and the cancellation of this travesty! She deserved everything she got...........except that she have served more jail time!!!!!

  • @kurtsupreme Mary introduced scherrie&Lynda publicly as Supremes in her failed desperate attempt to keep a group of three singers with no association as The Supremes. They were real Supremes in the 70s and still real during RTL. It's Mary who is false, trying to palm off 3 nobodies as The Supremes in the 70s and then calling them fakes 30 years later. It's OK-Mary got hers. She failed in her Vegas lounge comeback, as did her new single and is now an opening act on the oldies circuit overseas.LOL

  • @TheMotownManiac As The Least Talented Supreme, Miss Mary has Sucked the Life out of That Group, When Jean Terrell, (Like Diana) Decided to stop paying Miss Mary's Bills, She became, Psycho Supreme from Hell, Fired Cindy Birdsong & Sued Anyone attempting to make a Living using any sort of affiliation to The Supremes,

  • Lynda & Scherrie were thrilled to be performing with Diana, Jealousy over the amount of time in "The Spotlight" is a Mary Wilson Trademark

  • Wow! Matt Lauer with hair! 1:28, Diana just can't seem to stand the spotlight being on Lynda and Scherrie for a moment. Maybe she's just enthusiastic. I'm trying to be nicer about Diana Ross, as I haven't actually met her, trying to see her side as well as Mary and Flo's. But, most importantly, this is a cool video, thanks for sharing it!

  • Odd you couldn't Hear those "Phony Supremes" in The Background on Love Child & Someday We'll be Together?, The Hand Clappers & The Ooh's & Ahh's remain Irrelevant, Diana Ross OWNES all those songs. Crack Pipe Mary chose not to Participate, her Herpes outbreak was too severe

  • Republican!, Them's Fighting Words Miss Kurt!!! I come from a Land where Boy Meets Boy & Boy can actually Marry Boy!, (From Coast to Coast to Coast), A Place where an Angry Lesbian Gal can Proudly serve in a Combat role (over 20 years now), A place that is Logical, makes sense & Where people actually enjoy a Good Meal & Stop obsessing about the little bit of Garnish on the Plate (aka "The Supremes), Diana remains The Main Coarse

  • @TheReturnOfBigBear I hear phony Supremes singing the background harmonies and a band playing the instrumental track to "You Can't Hurry Love....................but..................who is that croaking and shrieking the melody? Could that be Diane, the old drunk from the LEGENDARY SUPREMES? Oh, how the mighty do fall!!!!

  • @bigbear39ca You must be a republican! Your arguments make about as much sense as theirs do! The SUPREMES were the legend! Unfortunately, their LEGEND hasn't been promoted in the last 35 years. The fact that Diane has been promoted as a solo act and is still out there singing THEIR songs doesn't change the truth!

The Supremes WERE the 1960's along with Elvis and the Beatles........Diane as a solo act is a highly promoted REMNANT of something that is no more!~

  • @bigbear39ca So what? The songs were sold as a SUPREMES single, it was performed live and on television by the "legendary" trio..........and..............to this day, they are remembered as SUPREMES songs! What part of the following, don't you understand: THE FAILURE OF THE RETURN TO LOVE TOUR PROVED ONCE AND FOREVER THAT THE LEGEND OF THE SUPREMES IS GREATER THAN THE SUM OF ITS INDIVIDUAL PARTS.................AND THAT DIANE IS MERELY AN INDIVIDUAL PART OF THAT LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bigbear39ca NEWSFLASH!! This tour was CANCELLED because it didn't have Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong as a part of it! If Diane WAS the Supremes, it wouldn't have made any difference! NEWSFLASH! The legend of THE SUPREMES is greater that the sum of its individual parts and DIANE is merely an individual PART! NEWSFLASH!! NEWSFLASH!!! You are obviously a SILLY "Ross as a solo act" fan! This tour was a fiasco and a disgrace! Diane deserved every bit of the humiliation that she received from it!

  • @bigbear39ca You silly "Ross as a solo act" fan!!!!! Diane is merely a remnant (as is Mary) of the legendary trio that took America by storm during the 1960's. The average person doesn't know anything about Mary OR Diane. Diane performs in mostly small casinos and small theatres. She can draw larger crowds in larger cities where is there a bigger gay population. Other than that, Diane is playing the "oldies circuit" where one would also see Bobby Vinton, Kenny Rogers, Donna Summer, etc.

  • @bigbear39ca How ironic that Diane, who has tried to get out from under the legacy of the legendary SUPREMES for the past 40 years has now been forced to BOW before it each evening when she performs her oldies as a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST!!! Talking about someone who croaks, have you heard Diane lately? She sounds like a cow trying to pull its foot out of the mud!! Mary is not the only one whose voice has seen better days. At least, Mary doesn't have Diane's ego and nasty temperament!

  • Diana sounds dreadful here.

  • Matt lauer was totally incorrect. This was NOT the Supremes, it was Diana Ross being her usual self-centered, greedy self and two pawns. She thought people would flock to the concerts to see her, and got a rude awakening when the tour was soon cancelled because ticket sales were so low!Don't blame Mary Wilson, just because diana is a bitch! As far as coke heads go, Matt Lauer would probably snort 4 million in an hour, and he is a real bitch too!

  • @bigbear39ca Did Diana drink and drive while she was going to save her?

  • Diane, you still don't get it?

Diane & I quote..."I'm doing it for the fans" when asked about the tour!

Since 1966/67 when you & Berry ousted Florence, brought in Cindy and turn the FEMALE TRIO into The Diana Ross Show we went along, in 1970 when you left the group for your solo career we still supported you, even when it became obvious that THE SUPREMES were face out to build you up many supported you, today you've become a side show of deceit not worth the price of admission!

  • Yes, 10 years!

Since THE SUPREMES fans finally have unmasked Diane for THE VIPER she is!

That was the final draw, we shot the tour down by lack of sale, when she timed the release of CD "I Love You" 2006/07 we didn't buy it, after timing the release with the opening of "Dreamgirls" (a success) her CD with promos at "Good Morning America" & "Regis" crash & burn that week with 30,000 copies sold. Now,2010/11 after 3 Oprah's and another tour, IN OBLIVION!

  • This phony group is NOT the legendary SUPREMES! A better name for them would be "DIANA FALSE AND THE EXTREMES!!!!!!" The failure of the RTL tour proved once and forever that the legend of THE SUPREMES is greater than the sum of their individual parts.............and that Diane is merely an INDIVIDUAL PART!!!!!!!!!!! Diane deserved every bit of the humilation and disgrace she suffered as a result of the cancellation of this fiasco!

  • All these lame arguments from KurtSupreme about their name change. Hey "Einstein", that was a business decision by Berry Gordy. He could get more money for two acts. Not recognizing that Diana was special, either makes you retarded or very naive. And if you take a look at music history, it's always been the sopranos and tenors that have garnered the most attention, regardless of the music genre. Besides, Diana had the whole package

  • I'm a Diana Ross fan, but here you can hear how her voice has taken a toll. I really don't like how it's changed for the worst

  • I don't know about all that Supreme drama people keep talking about. My problem is with three elderly ladies singing songs about baby loves or mama said this and that, like if they were 14 years old. And to make matters worse they don't sound at all like the records they play on oldies stations. How about a dignified retirement, ladies?

  • Diana could have went on tour for free, but instead she is so money driven and egotistycal. She could have been "fair" with the othe two girls, Diana has always chased money, this tour would have been a sell out EVERYWHERE !! We want to see Mary, Cindy and Diana...

  • Diana Ross is first of all the sympathy in person, she has a light that reaches the people who are your fans, talk about it is very difficult, that formidable person, I love it, dear Diana alive some 200 more years for us to congratulate her voice and the wonderful person you are, a kiss.

  • Diana Ross is first of all the sympathy in person, she has a light that reaches the people who are your fans, talk about it is very difficult, that formidable person, I love it, dear Diana alive some 200 more years for us to congratulate her voice and the wonderful person you are, a kiss.

  • This was all so sad. Diana called Mary late in the game and asked, "Have you heard anything about a Supremes reunion tour?" Mary was insulted off the bat at that, then more when Diana told her she'd get a flat fee and no portion of the souvenirs sales, then more when Diana told her all she'd have to do was show up and sing, which Mary felt represented the major insult as she'd kept the group and its music alive. Mary envisioned the whole experience at Hell for her and Cindy. That was that.

  • This in year 2000 was one of the final nails on the "Diane Ross Career Coffin Of Deceit"

Today 2010/2011 Diane tours with "THE SUPREMES REVIVAL TOUR" presented at THE OLDIES REVIVAL VENUES, like "Hard Rock Live" Indian Gambling Hall capacity 5600 in Hollywood Florida for one night, 11/21/10 when she once would be booked in Arenas 1 or 2 nights in Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale & Miami while on tour for the same fan base!

  • Well if Diana listens to the fans when is she going to perform with Mary and Cindy??

  • People say the Supremes are not about Diana, but 9 girls. Now when she chooses 2 of those 9, then they still criticize her.Diana could have made this tour if she had worked alone. She put herself with Mary, who is unhappy with her life; you get the residual effect.Mary chose to always blame others & sing in the limelight of the Supremes trying to redo history,vs doing her own thing, so do not complain for the choices that you made.Diana nor money would make her happy;only Mary can.

  • @classanddignity People say that THE SUPREMES were about THREE girls, not NINE..........Flo, Mary, and Diane. Since Flo is deceased, "people" accept Cindy; however, no other member of the replacement ladies are considered legitimate by most "people!" THERE WERE ONLY 3 LADIES WHO REALLY COUNTED.....Flo, Mary, and Diane were THE LEGENDARY SUPREMES! What's wrong with you?

  • @kurtsupreme If the real Supremes are about Diana, Mary, & Flo only, then Mary has always traveled with the other girls doing Supreme tours, yet where is the backlash? Thus, people keep saying that it’s not all about Diana, but the girl group spirit; yet it really is.My point is Diana should have never associated herself with the Supremes reunion for it was a rehash of the same issues & was destined to fail.If it were not money, something else would be wrong, because Mary was unhappy before this

  • @classanddignity Diane wanted this to be a "Diana Ross" tour with the first part of the show being "the girls" and the second part of the show being Diane's solo career. That is not MY idea or anyone else's of a SUPREMES reunion. When Mary got wind of how the tour was not going to be a true SUPREMES show but a "Diane" show, she was disgruntled. Add the money aspect into the mix and the whole thing fell apart. The Supremes were Flo, Mary, and Diane in their heyday. (cont'd)

  • @kurtsupreme Yes, everyone is essential to the equation of the Supreme's Success. If it were not for DIANA singing lead, HDH,Flo/Mary,Motown would not be on the MAP. That’s why HDH, Berry, Smokey, Motown wanted her on lead & it worked versus the “Trio” that took them from the “No-hit Supremes”. Yes, the other girls played a very important part of the Supremes too. The issues were far more complex than U present them. If all were PERFECT, it would not have worked, Motown 25 proved that.

  • @classanddignity Things certainly weren't perfect at Motown 25! The Supremes reunion was supposed to be the highlight of the show. Diane didn't feel good and didn't want to rehearse the Supremes medley. As a result, it was cut. In addition, Suzanne DePasse promised Mary a featured spot which was later edited out. Mary plotted against Diane and got Cindy to join up with her. Once again, Diane showed her ass and pushed Mary...that was also edited out!

  • @kurtsupreme U see what you want to see & hear. No Diana isn’t perfect; you seem to channel Mary’s disgruntlement. If Mary truly wanted to move on after Diana left the Supremes, she would have done the things individually in her life that elevated her past that experience to her OWN destiny. She only lived in the limelight of mainly what Diana has done/did; even in writing her book. Mary has lived a priviledged life as a Supreme. She could have used that to her advantage to succeed in whatever.

  • @classanddignity Look, I can't respond to a 29 year old "Ross as a solo act" fan about THE LEGENDARY SUPREMES! You weren't there and the ROSS fans have rewritten history to justify Diane's stardom and solo career. Believe what you want! You are a victim of propaganda and revisionist history. All I can tell you is THAT today they are listed as "DIANA ROSS and The Supremes!" In 1968, they were listed as THE SUPREMES, Diana Ross and...." In 1965," THE SUPREMES!" I'm sorry!! You're wrong!

  • @kurtsupreme Diana did not have a typical ‘BLACK” way, voice, or look. She was unique & MANY black folks feel that she was not GOOD enough for them and the other two girls should have been promoted over her, because they fit those black standards (loud, soul, look, etc). However, the world does not see it that way because it was HER voice and persona that SOLD the Supremes and herself when she left. Her own people only found fault with her for being commercial, confident, & successful.

  • I am not naïve. I am aware that the Supremes were sharing more initially, but did not sell (No hit Supreme). Diana’s on leads made the first hits & with her singing lead in a slightly lower key made the Supremes very successful in the 60’s, so Berry got it right. All of Motown’s groups were changed to a lead singer’s name and the group, not just the Supremes. U and the likes try say it was the relationship as to why he picked her to put her down, but the VOICE/TALENT speaks for itself.

  • @classanddignity Look, it has nothing to do with what you are talking about! The SUPREMES were the swetthearts of the 1960's. It just comes down to the fact that the legendary trio was just a BETTER act than Diane was (is) as a solo performer. THEIR iconic status during that decade was perceived as a group, not a solo act. It doesn't matter WHO contributed the most to the group............THEY (together) were better than SHE was (is)...........clear and simple!

  • @kurtsupreme Yes it is about her blackness & the fact that she doesn’t care what anyone THINKS. In terms of who is better in terms of the Supremes vs Diana as solo is a matter of the beholder. However, the Supremes will be synonymous with Diana for she was the STAR; just like if I say the Miracles or Vandellas a lead STAR will be acknowledged. ONLY when it comes to the Supremes do BLACKS want to minimize DIANA’s contribution & UPLIFT the other two girls, but you can't rewrite history.

  • @kurtsupreme BLACKS are HATEFUL when it comes to DIANA for she is COMMERCIAL. They down Diana over the name change of the Supremes when all groups at Motown were changed by Berry. If I follow your logic then Patti need no credit for LaBelle, who was changed to the Bluebelles, Patti Labelle & her (the) Bluebells. She SCREAMED over the other girls; I do not hear blacks criticizing her for SHE was BLACK enough for them. Diana is compared to other black female artists & downed:yet is more successful

  • @classanddignity Don't compare the legendary Supremes with The Vandellas, The Miracles, or The Bluebelles.......there is NO comparison! The SUPREMES were in a category all their own because of their huge popularity and appeal. The only acts from the 1960's that can be compared to THE SUPREMES would be The Beatles or Elvis Presley. Just how do you think that Diane became so famous? As one of THE SUPREMES, that's how! I hate to throw your whole argument, but here goes..........I'M WHITE!!!!!!!

  • @kurtsupreme That doesn’t change what I said about the criticism from HER OWN folks regardless of YOUR color, for your mentality is obviously BLACK. For those whites/blacks who write their negative books, it’s not about color but exploitation & the DOLLAR. The Supremes rivaled Elvis & Beatles due to her voice/persona, SO she rivaled her white counterparts (voice, looks, confidence, grace) which also makes her a target for the White Institutions in America so they did not properly recognize her

  • @classanddignity , Interesting perspective. I never would have realized that. I always found it strange she had never won a grammy. She had so many big hits that lasted so long. However, she got the last laugh because the Grammys are a self annointed political game whose awards really don't mean diddly squat. All they mean is that you're liked by an industry committee. Diana has many more meaningful awards to prove The Grammys wrong (e.g. Dick Clark's AMAs and Kennedy Center award)

  • @SpazChat Yes, the grammy's are a political game. Generally speaking, those winners have no longevity at all. However, look at her success/awards abroad. Americans are all about labels; race is but one of them. When you are different, good, & black; you will not be fully appreciated here or in your community, or it may take a moment. You will always get criticism, as opposed to being balanced. A prime example is Josephine Baker who helped civil rights. Diana appreciated her during her life.

  • @kurtsupreme When it comes to DIANA, haters only want to see/portray her NEGATIVELY, vs. any OTHER BLACK female because she was not black enough for MANY BLACKS & rivaled her white counterparts so she was slighted by the White Institution in America NO MATTER her success. America is truly RACIST-both black and white. That’s why two pioneers; Diana & Jimmy Hendrix did not get a grammar for they rivaled Whites. Racism comes in different perspectives that transcends color; it's also a mentality.

  • @classanddignity . I dont understand what people find wrong with being commercial. If Diana hadn't been commercial, not as much material would have been released, not as much world touring would have been done, etc. and many wouldn't have known who she was/is

  • @SpazChat Commercial in America bares issues. During that time in history, this term meant that somehow you were not adequately representing blacks if other things were not apparent. Additionally, she married a white man & people judge her by that. Conversely, some whites may see your success as too revolutionary. Look at early Whitney; she was treated just like Diana. Whitney changed her music more so & married a black man to please others, yet destroyed herself & she still is ridiculed.

  • @classanddignity Other members were substituted to keep the group gone. From the time Flo left until the group dismantled in 1977, other members were necessary to complete the trio. The reason why the failure of this tour proves that Diane was NOT The Supremes (as her solo fans like to say) is because when Diane chose to go with "2 strange women from the street" instead of Mary and Cindy, the tour would have still been successful if it was all about DIane. (cont'd)

  • @kurtsupreme Personal influences governed the business here for Diana & Mary. Diana should have never reacted to Mary, who had animosity over the years & had ALWAYS been unhappy, prior to this, because you can’t WIN against an underdog because the public will pity the underdog, and the underdog has nothing to lose; the Giant does. This was still an issue about Control for the two women. Diana should have backed out and toured doing her solo & Supremes segment of her shows as usual.

  • @classanddignity Since the tour was a dismal failure and was cancelled, it proved once and forever that the legend of THE SUPREMES (Flo, Mary, Diane, and by necessity...Cindy) is greater than the sum of its individual parts (members) and that Diane is merely a part of that legend along with HDH, Berry Gordy, Cholly Atkins, etc. The fact that Diane has now become a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST on her current tours adds to the fact that she is now forced to bow before the legacy of the legendary trio!

  • @kurtsupreme Mary has been touring with the other girls as Supremes & no backlash, for NO ONE cared. People don’t criticize Mary for she is the UNDERDOG & pitied. Yet, when Diana does it, it is a dismal failure, because SHE is a STAR & most fans DO want the ORIGINAL members if she tries to call it Supremes. My point is Diana should have never tried to work with Mary for they had unresolved issues prior to this, so nothing would work for Mary had personal issues that needed to be resolved 1st.

  • @classanddignity If Mary and Diane had sat down form the very beginning and worked out the details together, things might have been different. Instead, Diane planned her "Diana Ross" show and called Mary up toward the end of the planning stage. Basically, Mary was merely informed of how the show and was going to be and told essentiall to "stand over there!!!" Mary had enough of that in the late 60's. Everyone has their price; however, Mary was going to have to be paid well to be a "flagpole."

  • @kurtsupreme .Mary will never be happy & successful as Diana. She is a complainer and not a go-getter like Diana. Even though the industry has slighted Diana because she rivaled her white counterparts and was confident, she still proved successful with/wo Motown. The other 2 girls only blamed others. Tina Turner had a hard life.Study her! Yet, she made herself successful despite all she had to endure from blacks/whites in America. She decided what she would become and trusted in that and her God.

  • @kurtsupreme It’s not really fair to blame Diana for everyone failed (including promoters). The concept of the Supremes tour was never really thought out. FANs wanted it since Diana was going on tour at that time, so the promoters tried to quickly make it part of her act before discussing it properly with everyone. Therefore, she allowed the promoters and everyone to influence her without proper prep. Thus, she needed to change her original show/terms.They tried to merge two contracts into one.

  • @classanddignity One thing remains true. Diane feels that she WAS The Supremes. They were the "Sweethearts of the 1960's!" Only someone with HER ego would think that she could go out as THE SUPREMES with "two strange women off the street" and think that no one would notice or, even worse, care! Even though she has now been reduced to a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST, she still plays it that THE SUPREMES are part of HER legacy instead of acknowledging that her solo career is a result of THEIRS.

  • @classanddignity The bottom line is that THE SUPREMES are just a better act than Diane as a solo performer.....when push comes to shove, that's what it all comes down to..............and Diane's ego is intimidated by that fact!

  • @kurtsupreme Diana Ross was the STAR of the Supremes. FACT! The Supremes is part of Diana’s legacy by virtue of the fact she was the lead singer. FACT! As lead singer of the Supremes/Diana Ross & Supremes, she was essentially establishing her solo career. FACT! During Motown 25, Suzanne DePass did not owe Mary a solo segment for she never operated solely in that capacity at Motown. FACT! The Supremes Reunion was not merely Diana’s doing, for the promoters arranged/cancelled it w/o Mary. FACT!

  • Still amazed that Diana and her advisors thought she could take the stage with Scherrie and Linda, sing the old songs, and have the public not only pay a premium for the privilege but accept what they were seeing as a reunion........a huge mistake.

  • WHY R THEY ONLY TALKIN TOO DIANA ROSS?

  • @OneTrillNigga07 He tried to talk to the others(1:26) but Diana interupted him.

  • @bassistdc WOW SHOCKING!

  • @OneTrillNigga07 Because she's the star. Even though I think he may have said it, I couldn't recall their names moments after hearing. Bottom line, Diana was/is the star. I'm not saying that makes any of the negativity associated with this tour right...it's just the fact of the matter.

  • @GospelAccording2ME DONT GET ME WRONG DIANA IS A LEGEND IN HER OWN CLASS BUT SHE COMES OFF LIKE A ATTENTION WHORE SOMETIMES SHE CANT SHARE THE SPOTLIGHT NOT EVEN WITH HER OWN GROUP MEMBERS! WTF? AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO NOTICE

  • @OneTrillNigga07 I'm sure you're not the only one that notices. She may very well crave attention, but don't most major celebrities? It takes a certain personality type & drive to be a public figure of her magnitude. Some stars are just better at appearing gracious & humble. Diana's career was built on the "diva" thing. While many criticize her behavior and antics, it's become expected...and it keeps us talking. All created drama and marketing. If she were male, it would be a non-issue.

  • @GospelAccording2ME You are star struck. Aren't you? I don't adhere to that crap. Art for art's sake.

  • @bassistdc LOL Not starstruck at all, just a realist.

  • @GospelAccording2ME what was the point of her bringing them with her she could have just preformed the songs with backup singers i think she does this type of shit on purpose thats why the tour FLOPPED hard how r u gonna be diana ross & the supremes with some premes that weren't even in the group when she was smdh! money hungry ass

  • @OneTrillNigga07 People say the Supremes are not about Diana, but 9 girls.

  • All 8 Supremes were fantastic, if they weren't Motown would have never signed them.

I think there were 6 lineups, my favorite being Jean, Mary and Cindy and the Frank Wilson produced albums. They Rock!!!

  • Disco Ball 9 @ Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort Atlantic City New jersey usa on saturday oct 16, 2010. the biggest 70s classic disco concert ever---13 artists---GLORIA GAYNOR, Rob Parissi of Wild cherry, Santa Esmeralda starring Leroy Gomez, The Trammps featuring Earl Young, Rose Royce, Norma Jean Wright Luci Martin formerly of chic, Anita Ward, Sugar hill Gang, Lime, Musique, Linda Clifford, original village people cowboy Randy Jones, Peaches & herb, WCBS FM DJ Joe Causi & Smokin Joe Frazier.

  • Sorry but I pass on this... Too way below Supremes standards.

  • Shame this didn't work out. Takes two to bury the hatchet. This could have been a phenomenal reunion tour and a healing one at that. Diana looks and sounds fantastic here especially for 8:00 a.m. and some 40 years later. Would have been great for all the ladies (not to mention the numerous production crews and audiences worldwide) for this to have happened.

  • This lineup is God awful.

  • Diana Ross & The Fake Supremes.

  • Regardless of any issues that happened with this situation, it wasn't a reunion once Cindy and especially Mary were not included in the tour. Everyone has opinions etc, so I will give mine. It's just an opinion so it doesn't make it right or wrong. Since Mary wasn't going to be on the tour, Diana should have continued with her solo concert promotion of Everyday Is A New Day album.

  • @nkdillon3 Actually...I'm GLAD Diana carried on WITHOUT Mary and Cindy...and because of her greed and arrogance...The Supremes "reunion" blew up in her face! Even DIVAS need a reality check once in a while. Maybe this will make her APPRECIATE Mary and Cindy's contributions to the Supremes =)

  • @nkdillon3 Agreed.

  • They all look amazing....Simply a classic. Diana have unique distinctive voice. Such a passionate singer.

    Thanks for sharing

  • TO THIS DAY!!! In TRUE "Diana Fashion" she cut Lynda off, (much like she would cut Flo off) not letting her get a word in edgewise...some things NEVER change =D

  • @rioboy13 i did notice that

  • When I think of Diana Ross And The Supremes I think of Destiny's Child n how basically it was n should of been called Beyonce And The Destiny's Child because it seemed like it was Beyonce n two back up singers LOL thts wat they were even thou I still think obviously Diana Ross And The Supremes r the best

  • As far as I'm concerned, Diana Ross was "The Supremes". I felt that way in 1964 and I feel the same today.

  • @solovoyager Diana gave the group the sparkle. This is clearly evident after she left. The group basically turned into bland Muzak disco trash which was the cause of their lack of sizeable hits and demise. And no one identified with the Post Diana Supremes as being The Supremes. They just seemed like a cheap imitation after Diana left.

  • Diana Ross was to the Supremes what Michael Jackson was to the Jackson five. Diana stole the show, she stood out had a sweet voice and a certain way about her that stole the stage. And if you view old video of Michael he stole the show every time he was on TV with his brothers I remembered looking at him not his bros. And Diana was the same way, she stole the show. Mary had a chance on her own to make it but did she? NO and how did the Jackson 5 do w/o Michael? hmmmmm? NOT GOOD SO STFU CRY BABY

  • @BOBBIE041957 .... Spot On. Do people even know who Tito or Randy Jackson is??

  • this is not the supremes it's just diana ross show with background singers

  • i don't like the fact that diana ross became so greedy for attention and motown let her do it.

  • Funny as hell, Diana Ross doesn't even know this song, she kept making a balls of it!

  • This was not a Supreme reunion. Diana Ross had never recorded or performed with these two women. However, Mary Wilson had performed with them

  • Does anyone know the title of this song?

  • It was such a dismal failure

  • This is da true story diana offered mary to be in this tour she wasnt getting paid enough well wat she wanted, she was worrin about how much diana was gettin paid. i bet yall didint know diana told her she will pay her double what da promoters was gonna pay mary, all mary had to do was show up and she could of done it. hell mary is still makin money almost 40 years after da supremes and she still complain she really needs to grow up.... diana keep doin wat you do shake dem haters off.....

  • @antoineboi

    Exactly!

This was 10 years ago. Haters need to move on, but, bitter people never do...

Ross-haters STILL whine about this tour b/c they feel "robbed" of the opportunity to bask in the reflected "glory" of the Supreme w/ whom they identify most, Mary Wilson (They like to blame others for their failures, too.), but Wilson would have received the glory ONLY b/c she would have performed w/ Diana Ross, w/out whom, Wilson would have never been famous.

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 This is not the legendary SUPREMES! This is "Diana False and The Extremes!"

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 YOU are the hater! Diane was publicly disgraced because SHE was trying to receive glory with phony Supremes instead of with Mary and Cindy (in the absence of Flo), the closest to the original, legendary trio that made them ALL famous! When you put Mary, Cindy, and Diane together, ALL their values go up! Just what don't you understand about that you SILLY, uninformed "Ross as a solo act" fan??????!!!!!!!!

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1

...well, of course there's some bitterness from the fans who wanted to see and hear them sing Live again...duh.

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 It is so ironic that Diane spent the last 40 years trying to disassociate herself from The Supremes' legacy and that now she is performing as a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST. To be honest, she should have been billed this tour as "DONNA FALSE AND THE EXTREMES, SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTISTS!"

  • @antoineboi As a founding member of the Original Supremes, Mary shouldn't have to just show up, she should have had the opportunity to help plan and organise the tour as well. Diana had good intentions, but I feel she should have just continued with her solo promotion of her current album at the time. I saw her the other day and of course she was Supreme. Her band did a salsa version of Love Child (interlude).

  • @antoineboi , Worst business decision Mary ever made. Mary said, And quote, "$6million isn't a fair fee." Get a reality check Mary. You think you have the $15million voice and persona? Puhleeez . Mary has made a successful career by being quite the mediocre vocalist she's always been, but has become quite delusional about her star status and talent. If it hadn't been for Diana, we wouldn't even know who Mary is.

  • Tragic with or without Mary & Cindy. Thank God for YouTube and old clips of the good years when they were new, young and beautiful with great voices.

  • Diana Bitch and the Scab Supremes here.

  • Mary Wilson ought to be ashamed of herself. She has shown the world just how petty she is. Diana is just Diana, but the people would have been so happy to see Mary, no matter what. Holding grudges is not good. Let it go mary...let it go. You matter too.

  • Are you stupid?, Ross offered Wilson to be in the tour only if she accepted a fix pay of 2 million and no creative control, Wilson was right on to tell Ross to shove her fiasco tour up her ass. Ross backstabbed both Mary and Florence and ruined their music careers, why in the world would Wilson wanna go on tour with this fucking bitch? And fans my ass, this fiasco didn't even last half the concerts they had scheduled, due to poor sales.

  • Keep Preaching..I LOVE IT!.....One day,the truth will arise.Thank you for this post

  • lol i have this song on CD and the background speakers stopped working so i can only hear DIANA lol i liked it better that way

  • damn even then she had to STAND out. I want to hear about the other girls too...

  • Why was Diana Ross interupting while he was asking the other woman how they were doing? Come on Diana Ross...you are too old for that sort of behavior now....

  • Can you believe that,i was like WTF!

  • This will be the response Beyonce Knowles will get in 20 years.

  • maybe if ever records at least one song as memorable as the many great Supremes songs by Holland Dozier Holland...that have lastest over 40 years and counting

  • Ok Matt... if she can sing - then where are her countless solo CD's, TV Specials, Movies and so on that the great ROSS can make claim to? How sad for Mary that she has to send her old gowns on tour. ROSS is a LIVING LEGEND.

  • All 3 of these women are wonderfully talented. I was glad that Wilson girl was not part of this. She lacks "show-biz."

  • @californiabrent

At leaset she isn't a complete and total bitch like Diana and she can actually sing.

  • Diana...you are and always have been and always will be a SOLO ACT!!!!! Go 'head Miss Ross!!!

  • Who the FUCK cares about whoever sings behind her???? The songs are ALL about Diana Ross!!!!

  • i would still do her she is fucking hot

  • @smokeingun27 Diana Ross is old enough to be your grandmother.

  • Lol, I know D is the lead but lol the other two were like toooootally ignored. I don't even know their names, ya see? Hahaha. Love them tho <3

  • "RESPECT IS ANYBODY", But MARY WILSON, JEAN TERRELL, CINDY BIRDSONG, Where Handling That SPOT-LIGHT, So Can DIANA "OVER-LOOK" These LADIES..? NO HEART-FEELINS, BUT That WORD CALLED:> "RESPECT...!

  • ok someone please tell me why she agreed to do this tour? she couldn't need 20 million dollars. isn't she worth 10 times that?

  • I have already posted refutation of DR's failure at RCA. It is a myth that she didn't do well. Ross went back to Motown as a part owner and it is there that her career began to falter. She had some big hits there. She was not able to do what Motown did for her at RCA THAT doesn't meab she was a failure there. The over statements like a failure by all standards is just inacurrate and really quite silly. Most singers would love to replicate what she had there.

  • Really? most singers would like to replicate bomb after bomb, & then not having their contract renewed? I don't think so. aside from her beginning at RCA, mirror mirror, why do fools fall in love, muscles, missing you, everything else released was indeed considered a flop. it was here that she was pretty much dropped from american radio for releasing more bombs than the US army.

  • You forgot Swept Away and several others. She did haVE 2 ALBUMS THAT DID NOT DO VERY WELL. Over stating what actually happened does not help your twisted version of what happened.

  • Swept away was a flop and what "several others" were successful? since you apparently have a problem with accepting facts, let me give them 4 you once again. HER CONTRACT WAS NO RENEWED. SHE WAS DROPPED. so much for a successful rca venture. oh and under-stating the facts does not help your twisted version of what happened.

  • You'd better check your facts! Swept Away was not aflop! It was abig hit; check the charts, honey. Working Overtime was a top ten r&b hit; again a false fact purported by you to bolster your point. All of You and If We Hold On Together are the others I previously mentioned.. THOSE are facts, indeed.

  • Top 20 hits on Bilboard Hot 100 are not considered flops. Her return to Motown woiuld be considered very floppy..I think there is no doubt about that.

  • Isn't it strange that diana seldom if ever includes any of that RCA trash that you call hits in her shows? with the possible except"ion of muscles/ missing you, or "why do fools fall in love.. why do you think that is? because the RCA material was garbage with the exception of "missing you" she apparently agrees and has taken it out of her shows and it's best forgotten.

  • She used to do Mirror Mirror a lot in her shows. I suspect that the force needed to sing Swept Away and MMirroe is gone from her voice; lighter fare is the order of the day. Also the RCA stuff for the most part don't fall into the category of what would be considered her "classic" hits. Her concerts need to satisfy the general fan who wants to hear the Diana Ross classics.

  • You know if the RCA stuff is trash she was the exec producer of all of her albums and laid claim to doing some of tthe actual production and arranging etc. She said she was also learning to play the piano. So; it it is trash she produced it. I don't think DR thiks it's trash I think she can't sing the stuff from RCA that she used to have to belt out like Mirror Mirro and Swept Away. I wish she'd let someon else produce her next cd.. She should drop the pop and go to bluesy jazz.

  • well I bet she's embarrassed by some of it. "Eaten Alive" she should let someone else produce her next cd not only produce it but have total control over all aspects of the project. but I can't see her agreeing to that. a bluesy jazz cd would be great. I'd like to hear her do some modern blues & Jazz stuff though. not more billie holiday era music.

  • Yes, I agree on all points. With that song, Eaten Alive, she broke a rule she learned from BG. The song must tell a story. It really made no sense.

  • Correction: Swept away had the hit "Missing you" which would indeed take it out of the flop category. You are correct on that one missbirdsong.

  • Ross was just as unhappy with RCA as they were with her. She has gone on record as saying so. She didn't WANT to resign with them either. She went back to MT and had a hit with Workin Over time on the r&b charts. Not her big pop hit but a respectable showing. Look it up. The album got huge play on BET and urban radio. I know I ama former dj AND RADIO STATION MGR. Look it up for yourself. Yes ANY singer would give akidney for the hits she had a RCA.

  • Working overtime? another bomb.

  • Swept Away was #19 on Pop Charts; #3 on R&B charts and #1 on Dance/Disco. FACTS as opposed to your unsubstantiatede allegation of it being a flop...hmmm; Need a fact checker? Be well.

  • yes yes you're correct on this one. still not exactly a smashing success for an artist of her stature. it signaled the beginning of the end for her.

  • Isn't it funny that Ross' most popular music you know the music the fans want to hear, the music that she does in her shows today is the music "imposed" on her by Berry Gordy, diana should kneel down and kiss Berry Gordys ring.

  • She typically does. She frequently says that she feels he never gets the credit he deserves for all the sucess he's given them. She's grateful.

  • Can anyone say MEGALOMANIAC?

  • PLEASE>>>>Listen carefully to Matt Lower introduction, after Diana, when goes to introduce Lynda & Scherrie by name, Diana cuts him and says "THE SUPREMES" This are the tactics she employed for years to deprive them of their individuality by building herself a an individual! The woman is a megalomaniac, a shark and a wolf in lams clothing!

  • THE SYNTHESIZER>>>If you've ever been in a recording studio this magical piece of electronic sound equipment can make Topo Gigio a singer! They all use it, that's why when you hear the performer sing the song live, it just don't sound the same as in the recording! It can bring the voice to key,up or down from orchestration disguise flaws with different sounds of horns, strings, base, any sound, with it anyone can sing!

  • I have been in the studio MANY times. Not everyone uses it. THat's a broad generalization. Are you rferring to auto-tune?

  • missbirdsong>>>Part of the synthesizer is the capability of auto-tune!

  • The real heroes here were HDH who wrote this music that captivated the entire world and still does 40 yrs later. they were amazing.

  • yurherennow>>>I second that emotion! HDH rule! Check out some of the work that's out from Invictus Records/ Staxx Record were they went when they finally won their freedom from King Berry!

  • I probably already know the answer but did HDH get screwed from collecting the royalties from all the fabulous songs they wrote?? they should rightfully be filthy rich from their work.

  • Everybody in Motown got screwed one way or another, HDH was no different, they ended up in court and they won their freedom from Berry's clutches and created Invictus/Hot Wax Records (Chairman of the Board, Freda Payne, Laura Lee, Honey Cone, Glass House and others) and had a nice run, they went back to Motown on their terms to produce The Supremes/He's my man and brought Scherrie Payne to The Supremes when Jeane Terrell left, the line up was Mary,Cindy&Scherrie! One of my favorites, by the way!

  • yes I do recognize diana does not sound the way she did 30 yrs ago. but then how many 66 yr olds sound like they did when they were in their 30's?? none.
