  • The all time super hero! Great clips thanks

  • Though I really enjoyed both versions of the show, this one is still my favourite.

  • 00:14 looks like thunderbird 1 crashed into a house then

  • excellent, thanks jett Norfolk

  • The one man "Fate" has made indesructable. His name: Captain Scarlet

  • Eran muy buenos programas, yo los veia todos y me traen hermosos recuerdos

  • I'll be 107 years old when Captain Black & Scarlet make their discovery on Mars - can't wait !

  • Hollywood eat your heart out, these are still the best explosions ever!

  • @Jagdtoq Derek Meddings was a genius may he R.I.P.

  • Captain scarlet + Call of duty = Brillant

  • loved this show as a kid...truelly awesome...bring it back again..you never know this younger generation would love it... kids today never knew what they missed out on

  • loved this show as a kid...truelly awesome...bring it back again..you never know this younger generation would love it...

  • With more sophistcated robotic puppets and SOME CGI enhancement, it could be awesome AGAIN!

  • Alan Hanson! Indestructable!

  • I love how they got away with so much violence. The explosions still rival CGI stuff today. Gotta love old school pyrotechnics. :D

  • do you have garrys mod futsin?

  • Tried to interest my friends in shows like this. If it's not CGI or anime or a video game they won't even look at it. It bores them, but they'll happily watch some inane new show about idiots yelling at each other for no apparent reason over and over.

  • I'm 48 and I would say on average about once a month I will quote to someone that "I am Indistructible", Because I used to watch this show! Thanks Captain Scarlet.

  • @hammszilla Those were the days eh? Great to hear that tune again!

  • I loved this show as a kid. So dramatic and thrilling for a kid's show with a ridiculous amount of death and destruction. Awesome.

  • The explosions are incredible for non cgi. Wish they still made shows like this...

  • ah, back when villians and heroes had balls enough to use firearms.

  • @hally13uk Even though they were plastic balls...

  • @digitalbroadcaster lolz, of course it doesn't matter what they're made of.

  • @pastmaster41 Except when kicked...they splinter into the kickers ankle! Not sure what would hurt the most? lol

  • I used to watch feature-length versions of some of Mr Anderson's shows... capt scarlet was one of them.. my other fav was Joe 90...

I say bring them back here... kids these days dont know what they missed out on.

  • it was on great shows like this that young children got to see blood, justice and things exploding.

  • Sigh ..... my first crush and first poster on my wall

  • One of the most awesome intros in TV history - oh the memories of early weekdays. Staying at home before school just 5 minutes more to watch the intro <3

  • This acctually looks fucking awesome.

  • Sweet jesus this guy's shows are all so awesome hahahaha

  • OMG THIS BRINGS BACK SO MANY HAPPY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!!

  • I think the models look better and more realistic than CGI.

  • thank u muchly 4 this u r super :)

  • ever wonder where Marvel got the idea for wolverines healing power.....hmmmmmmmm

  • I don't think I've heard this in forty years+! Its amazing how your mind works as when your a little kid; I could remember a surprising amount the lyrics but I didn't realize the singers had British accents. I recently show the old American version of Atom Boy, and I started laughing when I realized the kids singing the theme song were obviously from New York, where most voice-over work was done then.

  • Captain Black, first bad guy with designer stubble!

  • Brilliant! captain Scarlet I wanna be like him!!!!

  • Wow - I'm 53 now and remember watching all these since it started. Was madly in love with Scarlett, puppetlove at it's best - I thought he was real! That square jawed look with big blue eyes.....sigh............

  • mama voi occidentalii suteti vai steaua voastra :)

  • FUCK i miss this thing !!! now i remember erverything....it was fucking awesome :D i will search it and watch it again :D

  • Used to watch it !!!

  • You know a show was a success if it was the favourite show of somebody born in 1993 despite being originally run being in 1967

  • @acdcrock93 That's right! Im 21 and I still love this! Amazing show, with amazing music!

  • One of my friends loves Captain Scarlet and she is like 14. She says they are married!

  • I always fancied Harmony Angle, but then I was a strange kid.

  • ha ha love the clip of him falling along with the sound effect at the beginnng. classic

  • VGRetro u also forgot we have Doctor Who

  • It certainly takes me back. I loved directing episodes in the original series and I love what you've done with this video

  • What happy time thay were wish i still had all me toys and cars :~(

  • This was the best show ever! I would watch it every saturday morning at 8:30 am, I'm so darned cool - just like anyone that watched it!

  • Ah Capin S legend from the 60's!

  • Damn, but that brings back some good memories, thanks for putting this together!

  • So the NWO isn't going to be that bad after all !

  • You don't want to know how badly I want to join Spectrum...

  • I would've paid millions to see Captain Scarlet do battle with Major Monochrome!

  • I wish was indestructable like Captain Scarlet I wouldn't have to fear anything then.

  • Loved this show, still do.

  • This is great stuff! as someone who watched all of this first time round this brings back many memories. A big Fanderson thank you!

  • i loved this as a kid

  • I once read that Captain Scarlet was modeled after the one and only Cary Grant.

    *deep happy sigh*

YES! I definitely can see the cutie-pie resemblance.

  • A fantastic character.

    The quintessential British superhero.

  • Brilliant thanks so much for doing this...nicely done.

  • what was the name of that red car at 0:27 i remember the SPV but i dont remember the name of that car.

  • @ajom010k re; captain Scarlet. The red car was the SSC or the SPC. Both were used in the show. SSC Spectrum Saloon Car. SPC Spectrum patrol Car. Hope this helps.

  • Use the Captain as fb profile pic.

  • i was born in the 90's but i loved watching this was epic

  • Whoa what did I click on? lol.

  • This is from my era as a kid and still totally awesome, suspend the 21st century cred bit about it being puppets this is still a quality show, in fact most of Gerry and Sylvia Andersons stuff was. Great theme music, great ideas and totally entertaining.

  • @LibraOnAmission7 - Actually, it's stuff like this that makes me sorry I was born in the '90s... and in Belgium, of all places : [

Had to miss shows like this and the Thunderbirds, about every decent music genre...

Well, just tough luck, I guess...

  • @LibraOnAmission7 :Totally agree. We're probably about the same age (I'm 49) and I still say Capt. Scarlet will blow away most of the sci-fi out there today. What did you think of Space:1999 and Space Precinct, also both Gerry Anderson shows?

  • superb character though wasnt he

  • hahaha omg!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great show!

  • I went to school with Captain Scarlet great guy to have in the !st XV

  • Excellent job! Ran out and bought the DVD collection.

  • watch penguin and the box sams version

  • great!

  • colin forsey the singer for the band the spectrum and the original captain scarlet works with me and is good friend of mine im trying to find some music from his band any hints?

  • watch penguin and the box sams version

  • CS is pretty cool, great explosions

  • .Captain Scarlet ruled. But Captain Black looks an awfull lot like Gary Sinese of C.S.I. New York.?LOLStill, this is my favorite of all Garry(Sylvia) Andersons creations! Can't kill this guy!

  • @cooksontrains Yeah...you're right...lol. I think Captain Scarlet looks like the 80's electronic/new wave singer Gary Numan!

  • I remember running off the school bus like an idiot to get home in time to watch this show! For a 60's show, the explosions are quite cool!

  • great video what happened to the other music videos of captain scarlet?

  • outstanding tune, please make a film some1

  • Captain Black used to scare the crap out of me when i was young

  • @dsenior100 He still does! I'm 47 lol

  • my partner loves this :D hes an 80s kid so even though these were made in the 60s he still loved them. clasic kids tv. kids today dont know how crap they have it. everything is CGI like the new winnie the pooh and so on. this stuff is the best!

  • Todays kids cartoons are way to PC.

  • Even after all these years its still gerry andersons best TV series. The new version was good but in its own way, however it doesnt top the original. Great theme song too

  • this sort of thing is my bag!

  • One of the coolest theme songs ever for any type of show! I loved all of Gerry

Anderson's shows that came on in NYC when I was a kid. I'm talking 1964,65,66. Mentioned it on another video that I never saw Joe 90. Does anyone know if it's available on video or DVD? BTW, to f1baker, that was not a strange question at all. Compared to a lot of the crap out today, I think both 'Captain Scarlet' and 'Space Precinct' would hold up very well today.

  • When was the song used? I have early episodes and it's not there.

  • I had a die cast model of one of those SPV vehicles - I think I saw the series about 1970-1971 so it must have been being repeated about then

  • My favorite marionettes program was SUPERCAR!!

  • Is that Dr. McCoy from the old Star Trek at 0:55? lol

  • @ratbaztid For God's sake Jim I'm a doctor not a puppet!

  • @TheSteelStallion captain scarlet was the sh** when i was a kid

  • I loved this in the second grade in 1968-69. Along with STAR TREK, LOST IN SPACE TIME TUNNEL, THUNDERBIRDS, BATMAN, 2001, ETC.

    SPECTRUM IS GREEN!

  • they are driving way to fast, didnt they ever see the public information films on road safety

  • Yes, I remember Space Precinct. I am a Gerry Anderson fan. This does hold up today.

  • This may seem like a strange question mate but when you say "this does hold up today" did you mean 'Captain Scarlet' or 'Space Precinct'?

  • It's not a strange question, it's a good question, mate. I meant 'Captain Scarlet', but I would go along with 'Space Precinct' as well.

  • @f1baker I dare to say both shows would hold up today very well. I'd even go far enough to say 'Captain Scarlet' would blow away the original 'Battlestar Galactica.' Do you think that's too ballsy a statement?

  • Great selection of Captain Scarlet puppets for sale at televisionpuppets dot com

  • very good

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing explosion and impact techniques considering this was the pre-digital age!

    The Brits did it best!

  • ekkks! this series was really fake indeed.

the characters were fake and anything was faked......hmmm..

  • Well no shit, tommy.

  • Shit man you dont see what we see do you,mmm how are you interacting with others, lmfao

  • This must be the original intro fro the tv series? i like allot the efects on that show, the best marinetes i have ever see in my life and i agree

allot with the sgi compare to that they suck! my friend

    wmdbassplayer

  • this is the voice of the mysterons

  • Somebody in America once said to me that British shows were stupid... I laughed so much, because I knew that we had two great things: Monty Python, and THIS!

  • @VGRetro yea, well we have the hills...oh wait, nvm.

  • @VGRetro but im not dead yet

we are the knights who go NIIII

    its just a flesh wound

    ha!

  • @VGRetro : anyone with that opinion is just a closed minded asshead. Watching Monty Python in the 70's when I was in jr. high school and British shows in general inspired me to read up more on Brit history, politics and slang so that I could get the jokes and references. But that's just my opinion.

  • @VGRetro this woz actually american, but we still had doctor who and fawlty towers!

  • @Krunchchew No, Captain Scarlet was a British show. Many of its actors were from overseas, sure, but the show is actually British-made. I have a cousin who lives near Slough in South East England, where the show was made. The studio has been closed down for years, but the building still exists.

  • @VGRetro woz gerry anderson british?

  • @Krunchchew Yes.

  • @Krunchchew : Sorry to burst your bubble, but Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds, Supercar, Fireball XL5 and all of Gerry Anderson's shows were British. They were edited down from their original forms for American audiences. Some changes removed were the more violent content and characters smoking cigarettes. Even Space 1999 was his and was, if memory serves either British or a British/American co-production.

  • Remember folks; this was the mid60's. This shit was great. This is a damn good copy, too. For it's day, this show had great effects. I dare say it stills hold up compared to a lot of the CGI crap out today. All of Gerry Anderson's work rocked. Anyone rember his live action series from the late 80's- early 90's called 'Space Precinct?'

  • @wmdbassplayer I totally agree with your comments mate. When you think of the time and skill that went into building these sets they wouldn't have the patience or money to do it today. Plus they wre all made on 35mm film, very expensive media for production that's why every chepo film maker today uses HD and CGI

  • @wmdbassplayer i watched it when i was little and im only 15 now. i stopped watching it when they turned cgi

  • @scids225 me too.

  • @wmdbassplayer yep it was great but cost £1million each to make had the guy from dynasty in the lead role

  • @jonathon1799 - err, no, if you're talking about the original Galactica, the lead role was played by Lorne Greene, the guy from Bonanza. Jon Forsyth was Blake Carrington in Dynasty, and also the voice of Charlie in Charlie's Angels.

  • @wmdbassplayer yep it was great but cost £1million each to make had the guy from dynasty in the lead role

  • @wmdbassplayer Man that rings a huge bell ! Remind me please..

  • @Glat64 : If your talking about Space Precinct, that was a live action/marionette blend from the late 80's - early 90's. Possibly even had animatronics, as tech was greatly improved from the Capt. Scarlet days. Must admit, haven't seen that one since the 90's so I don't remember that much.

  • @wmdbassplayer going for shits!

  • Spectrum is green.

  • Man, this show had some awesome explosions

  • Kool as S.Mcqueen..

  • Well, he is a heartbreaker. Although unintentionally, I guess. Poor Destiny, she's so over him. Or was it Harmony? Captain Scarlet my HERO.

  • Capitan Escarlata,el primer y el mejor agente secreto, por siempre

  • how nostalgic...specially the intro theme....! I instantly remembered the tune of it... I still remember watching this when I was still around 3 or 4... sigh...

  • it looks alot like Thunderbirds

  • Was the same guys who made it.

  • Does anyone have a favourite captain sacrlet episode

  • Id have to say the episode where he drives up to the top of that parking garage a 1000ft in the air....at it collapses....

  • Same here, used to freaking love that as a kid, my mom made me a birthday cake with him on it falling off the top I loved that bit so much.

  • My Favourite is when the Mysterons come to Earth in Flying Saucers, and destroy Cloudbase. A close second isSHADOW OF FEAR, and WINGED ASSASIN. Loved this show for 41 years.

  • The one with the World President in the room full of gas and the security guard has to type one of many three letter codes in to unlock the doors. Scarlet works out that the Mysterons have used the very last code, but the guard refuses to break protocol and just go through them in order. CS gets more and more annoyed at them, until eventually he just shoots the jobsworth as he entered "IAN", and typing in the last code - "ZOO" and unlocks the doors and saves the day.

  • My favourite? The opening episode :)

  • recuerdo que estaba en la escuela cuando veia este programa y la serie japonesa mostros del espacio ,ultraman ,capitan ultra , esper ,señorita cometa que bellos recuerdos gracias por subir el video

  • Thats because the same guy did Thunderbirds. This guy knew how to make heros out of Puppets in the hope he could make a Generation of Heros. All he ended up with was a whole lot of dreamers who did nothing but act like puppets. Rock on the Dreamers who will challenge the crap.

  • Speak for myself, I turned my dreams, inspired by Irwin Allen and Gerry Anderson TV shows and movies, into nuts and bolts reality for the last 20-years!

  • gracias !!!!este video me trae recuerdos de mi infancia !!!!

    excelente !!!

  • Cool!

Nice job editing all the segments together with the music

    Thank you for sharing

Ps - my first name is Paul (in joke for SC fans)

  • Do you have a blonde-haired, blue-eyed friend named ADAM? (Capt. Blue)

  • Thanks for this!! I love this song!!!

  • i remember watching some of these in the mid 90's i enjoyed these episodes

  • Not only is Capt. Scarlet indestructible, he never needs to go to the toilet, Rhapsody and Harmony Angels adore him, and he's good looking. There must be something wrong with him. Maybe he farts, or snores.

  • I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it was available on iTunes!!!!

  • looks like the original thunderbirds.

  • This was class......I also like the new version too....

  • so great to find this video! nobody has ever believed me when i've told of this classic series from my childhood.

  • Those people haven't LIVED!

  • SPECTRUM IS GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It would have been cool if they did a Version of Star Trek Like this.

  • Super Green Duo like Captain Scarlet. They would make a good team. Like Christmas. See the Super Green Duo in their YouTube Video

  • I love Captain Scarlet, infact i love all Gerry Anderson TV shows,

Brilliant video. Can you do one for Stingray with both intro and outro songs ??? That would be cool.

  • Loved it whan I was a kid.

And yes, I had heard THEN that Scarlett was modled on Dave Clark. Also Thunderbirds were modled on Cliff Richard and the Shadows. Apparently Gerry Anderson backed this up.

I'd love the Dum dum dum dah dum dum dum bit for my mobile ringtone !!!!

  • Now this was & will always be an "AWESOME" show! WPIX ch.11 NYC!
