  • Very skillful! Plz check out mine and rate!

  • I think she needs to work on her slurs.

I mean it was not really bad, but I've seen better.

  • Awesome job!!!!! Thank you for posting!

  • this is very nice! try moving your bowing wrist more, though. a flexible wrist makes bowing much easier.

  • Well done :)

  • good good... but not good enough...

  • @shadowblade32131 --- Not good enough for what?!? O.o

  • @FiddlerInTheHouse its a bit loud and to slow it much much faster i am a music critic i need more... speed in the song and better

  • @SkYeLaR9O

it probably sounded like crap though

  • Very nice. :)

  • you are a fast learner

  • I learned that in less than 45 minutes XD

  • Thanks, enjoyed watching. I'm learning how to play the same tune. Appreciate your help.

  • @TheHerc1011 Well, i think that sometimes your finger just wont move fast enough to play the next note. Then you have to restart over or replay the part over and over....

  • plz play cannon in d this is a request.

  • i like ugly bucks commment so true and im a musician and im 3rd best in manitoba and i hated the part when ppl sayd i sucked but to be honest it was good cuzz it made me try harder and now i dont think id be as good as i am today if it wasnt for the ass holes out there

  • you can't just learn that in 5 hours. you have to spend a lot of time working on it and put some feeling into it!

  • i did this song at one of my concerts but it was a solo

  • Thanks for the post. You and a thousand others are my music teachers.

  • @FiddlerInTheHouse I am SO sorry, you are nice young lady, and I apologize for my oversight! You keep doing what you're doing, it is very good of you to share, and help!! Thanks again.

  • @PaPaHoss lol, it's no problem... I do look a ton like a boy in that vid.. actually in a lot of my vids. don't feel bad or anything. Thanks.

  • Arguing about how long it takes to learn a piece is pretty ridiculous, honestly. People play the violin for many different reasons, but nearly everyone who plays (with the exception of some folks who get a paycheck for it) has a few things in common: (1) they enjoy it, and want to continue enjoying it, (2) they don't have to put up with--and probably don't like the idea of--other people judging the quality of their playing, and (3) will continue playing no matter what you think.

  • Wow, if you went to the place i learn... well i got to 2 places

and you have to learn each song just in 30 minutes..

but at my school we have to learn 1 hr for a song

  • ii tHiNkk iHt wHuSz qUd iiN OrDeR 4 ayee 5 hOUr pRaCTiCee iiHt tOoK Mhee 2 DayS Thuu LeaRN iiHt...yUpp qUd jOb! :)

  • you are hotttttttt smokin

  • I could play it better and faster after twenty MINUTES. Hah.

  • @gordonthebetafish oh well....good for you...you're a rude idiot. With manners like yours you're probably hard pressed to find anyone to listen to yours...@fiddlerinthehouse...great job!

  • Hey can you email me that sheet music dude? I cant find it

  • Sounds good bro. I've just started playing and my teacher just gave me this Jig to learn. I'm not all that good at the moment but hey, I hope to improve. Good job on the tune.

  • why are you moving and it took me like 30 mins to learn tht

  • @Invaderzim589 well u kno what not everyone is awesome as u bitcch

  • @Hotstuff5374 yep im awesome. lmfao

and do not insult a level 6 fiddler

i have been in level for like 5 years now

  • Right on! Keep playing it. Keep enjoying it!

  • Oh...didn't realize it was a CD with it. Anyway, you're workin' it. Thanks, I'm learning it on my hammered dulcimer.

  • Terrific job!

  • Why the hell are you rocking back and forth that's probably what slowed down your playing

  • @Homelessman8573 Hm, you must really be a homeless man

  • Good call. I go to the local community center and use the computer there. :P

  • Hey Buddy....that was very good. You look like a natural on Irish fiddle. Keep posting.

  • good job, but i play violin since 1 year and 3 months ago and get it better in 2h! i will post a video soon! =D

  • @Acoar16 Remember some people aren't as talented as others. But he did a good job though. But he has to remember not to rock back and forth and maintain good posture.

  • Awesome job. I don't think it took me that long to learn this (viola) but then again my teacher taught it to us in 3/4 not 6/8

  • I can play this a little bit faster and good job it was great

  • sounds fun to play xD

  • Comment removed

  • what music book are you using?

  • That was very nice. I'm surprised it took you only 5 hours to learn. You're a natural.

  • You're good on that fiddle!

And you're right it is fast'ish, good to be played with the bowish and fingerishes.

  • it only took me 10 minutes to learn this song and i've only been playing for half a year. anyway, good but some notes were TOO sharp or flat

  • i mean u sound wayyyyyyy better!!

  • i love thiss!! i play the viola and i know this part on there but i sound wayyyyyy better for 5 hours of practice!

  • im haveing trubel on this song :(

  • Wow Nice sound

  • Great job! That is great! I play as well, and i love playing, and this is one of my favorite songs. I actually posted a video of a recording of this song. Check it out and tell me what you think!

  • oh come ON ive been practicing that song 30 minutes every day for like a month and it sounds TERRIBLE so unfair! :) Anyway you sounded good.

  • Is there a place online that will teach me this song? Like played slow, showing left hand.

  • i learned that song when i first started it only took me 1 hour to learn that song!!!

  • nice nice i am learning that song and it sounds cool

    VIOLINS ROCK!!!!!!!!

  • i needed to rehers dis 4 a trio but it dosnt go as fast as we do we go like a trimalo fast

  • this is good you can tell when you end that the background music makes you sound better than you are, 1:33 you can really tell but overall pretty much at my level

  • How long have you been playing? Only 5 hours! Sheesh! You're good!! ;)

  • Great playing!! This jig goes really well with the green fields of America (although u probably knew that already!) What's the name of the dog in the picture behind you he looks sooo cute!!

  • wow 5 hrs! took me like 2 days to learn it up to speed!

    fiddlers rock!! :)

  • ah, hot tune, really feel it in my blood.

  • only 5 hrs?

  • For a year's playing this is great! Don't listen to those who mock, let is bounce off your artistic spirit! Best of luck :)

  • All I can say is that you did a wonderful job!

  • Hey ya Fiddler, how are you?

Just ignore the off remarks that people make. It doesn't matter how long it took you to learn a song, the important thing is you did learn and you learned well. you are a wonderful musican. Keep up the good work.

  • i love this song, i'm trying to learn it on the cello, i've been playing it for 2 years.

  • Thank you for your kind comment on how much I sucked/suck. How long have you been playing the violin? Show me your swallow tail jig in 15 minute vid, i would love to see it!! It's a great song. During this vid I had been playing for a year, moved twice and was on my second teacher........but you don't need my excuses, think what you want about how I play, it doesn't matter, but i really wanna see your vid. :)

  • I never said it was good. It has more then 8 notes. Doesn't really matter either way. And to be completely rude, I could care less whether YOU, who doesn't even play an intrument anymore, thinks of ME who just plays for fun. :P!!

  • You are a fiddler, and what he truly is, is a retard =)

  • @FiddlerInTheHouse twinsfn78 is being rude. You are good! Great jig drive on both your part and the guitar players. Only five more hours for me to go!

  • jeez just give him a break! and i am playing this song and its not as easy as you say ur prolly just jealous that u cant play that well

  • @twinsfn78 Your a loser =]

  • Shut the fuck up seriously! Geez what a tard you are spreading this negative shit uselessly!

You couldn't even give one useful advice.

Seriously, shove that stupid negativity up your ass and struggle with it!

  • @twinsfn78 You're a rude idiot! With manners like yours, you probably have no one to listen to yours. You've shown your true colors here.....an insecure person needs to put others down to make themselves feel better. I feels sorry for people like you. Put the Violin down and take some life lessons.

  • Brilliant! OMR I love this jig...where did you get the cool accompaniment CD music? I need some of that for my fiddling. Yeah...I need to get some of those vids up...

  • CD came with the book....book came from my teacher....no clue which one it is :D Sorry =/

  • thats pretty good for 5 hours... try doing it faster...about 3X faster...it sounds really cool then

  • Yeah, it's awesome really fast. I barely had it learned in this vid though and I was playing with the CD....which you can't speed up unless you have a special program >.>

  • sweeeeet! i ve been workin on this one today and almost got it. ive been wanting to play this for months but just got the courage to even try it.

  • Hang on a minute you learned the Swallowtail Jig in 5 hours? Well that's amazing i've heard that's a very tricky Jig to play on the fiddle well done.

  • im working on that piece as we speak :p its amazing

  • WOWZA!!! You learnd that by ear? I had the music and I still couldnt get it that well!!! XD lol

  • My most favorite fiddle tune ever. When I was in 7th grade, I joined orchestra, but since I just started I couldn't join fiddling. They would play Swallowtail every chance they got, and I wanted to play it so bad. Eventually, I learned by ear, an soon, I could outplay them.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • lol! Thanks :)

  • You're very welcome. I really really like this song because my friend got me hooked on it when I walked into the orchestra room and she was playing it. I play Cello and I really would like to know how to play that song. Do you have the piece?

  • Not bad. A couple things, though. First, get rid of the tapes on your fingerboard. You'll never learn to use your ear for intonation with them stuck there. I don't let even my most beginning students use tapes exactly for that reason. Second, let your bow arm loosen up and let the bowing come as it will. You look tense while you're playing. Relax a little. The last thing I'd suggest is to take out the backing tracks, especially the other fiddle track that sounds like it's in there. Keep it up!

  • lol oh and just fyi, that song for some reason makes me REALLY tense, most of the others i'm good with though.

  • Nice job, Anna!

  • i play the cello and it took me about two hours to learn the violin and cello part.

  • Cool! You must be pretty good then! Fun song eh? I really like it.

  • yeah. it sounds neat if when you repeat the two parts you switch in the cello part. if you want to hear the cello part you can go to Improv on the viola. the guy there plays really well.

  • i play cello too...it took me about the same time...but i found the shifting difficult.

  • Can you send me the two parts? I play Cello and my friends know Swallowtail jig and I'm dying to get that piece. If you could send me a link or something to get to it.

  • Nice job.

  • very nice good speed, one of the better versions of swallow tail jig for the fiddle here

  • Nice version with backing. Great, I enjoyed that!

  • Good job!! I play this tune on tin whistle, and I liked it the way you played it. Greetings!

  • Greetings :) And thanks!!

  • Nice work. I am learning that right now, it is kind of hard.

  • Thanks. Yeah I thought it was REALLY hard when I first started playing it but As you can see, I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Good luck on learning it :)

  • Very nice. I learned this tune a few years ago, but I still play it now. How long have you been playing? You sound very good, so keep it up.

  • Thanks!! been playing for a year and 2 months :D

  • Good job. I like this one. ;-)

  • Awesome....keep it up sis!!

  • Toda raba!! And trust me i will ;)
