I'm sorry. I didn't see any belly dancing in there. I saw a little hip flexibility that may contribute to actual belly dancing. What I see here is a girl who is trying to dance hip hop but wanting to wear something shinny that will also show off her body. I can understand that but if your going to do hip hop dancing try sequin. If you want to belly dance sweetie take some classes. Otherwise stick to your hip hop. You seem to enjoy that most. Than after some classes learn to fuse the two.

This took a lot of shiny brass ones, but classes and feeling all the music will really put you on the right track for rounding out and smoothing all you beginner roughness. Good job sweetie! Belly dance is about many lovely things but one of them is to make you feel like a goddess! praise be to we who DANCE with our bodies and hearts!

Actually, belly dance isn't an ancient art form. it so far dates back to Europe in the late 1800s and was said to have come from 'the orient' or far east as its origination back thin to to it being very burlesque for its time. While this young girl did put a little too much hip hop and club style into this, she has the right idea and just needs classes. Any of you who were decent dancers would give her some constructive criticism instead of diving on her like this.

I think you did a great job. Nice fusion with bellydance, hip hop and a little Bollywood thrown in. You held your audience which is hard to do at all let alone a gym full of high schoolers. Don't let them get you down. Keep dancing girl. You have a great light, let it shine.
