i got the XFX 4890 and it is a beast. Also the ATI Catylst Control Center is easy to overclock and i like how they made it simple. Although the card gets quite loud i dont mind because i use headsets.

press del to enter setup

you press del on your keyboard

you will see a bios screen

you should read up on it a little and you will be fine

its harmless just watch the temps and make sure you dont go very high when making changes just make small changes and look at the differance, read up and you will do ok

actually kidowner, The Phenom X4 is the first quad core from AMD all the X4 stands for is 4 cores, go to newegg and look up the orignal Agena code named Phenom quad cores, Phenom X4 II are the new 45nm Deneb Processors. The new ones are called Phenom II X4 because they always have an X3 variant (triple core) and even recently released a dual core Phenom II variant with the X2 standing for dual core. Hope that clears things up :)

Consoles and handhelds have a high rate of piracy as well and some of em have a higher piracy rate than pc. my opinion is that PC games don't sell as well anymore is because, people aren't as PC savvy and the newer pc games require certain specs that people don't understand. I don't mind spending massive amounts on a pc because i tihnk it's much useful than a console. But consoles are much easier to buy games for.

Well actually if you look at the games, it's much easier to pirate a cd for pc then a console. You dont have to upgrade even, if you ask for a dual core processing or quad core processing desktop it'll work just fine. Consoles in the end become useless unlike pc, where u if u buy a quad core now it wont be out for many more years

Well this is not i heard from expert so you are false. ATI is way simple to install. ATI is way cooler in graphic and Nvidia i find it smoother. The 9500 Nvidia can easly be beat by a 4670 so compare the price i think the ATI worth mush better for him so yeah :)

yo, i bought the diamond version of the 4890, it keeps crashing sayin the thread is stuck in the device driver. i already unloaded the old ones put the new ones on, only used the old ones, and put on no drivers at all. any help? or did i just get a defective one

I had the same issue when I first installed it when I did, I did not use the catelyst drivers that came on the disc I used the lastest drivers from the ATI website. My old GPU was onboard VGA so I unistalled and disabled the driver/device and manually instructed vista not to automatically find drivers for device. restarted PC then installed latest drivers from website for the card. sometime you have to switch the settings in the BIOS from onboard to PCI Express. if non of those work trade it out
