On my last comment- that was on a RPA operated E175 last weekend- 3269 KPWM-KDCA-KJAX and the return flight 3262. The pre-recorded announcement mentioned the window shade requirements, followed by announcing that the main cabin lights were to be switched off (presumably to minimize electric load during engine start?)
why does US Airways force you to put your window shades down? I was On a flight fron Seattle to Phoenix to connect back to Reno and they announced it.
Hi Jim!! Very nice and clean you,ve recorded this take-off. Thank,s for sharing. In the past very often I,ve flown as a passenger onboard an A319 too. Mostly domestic German- and European flights. Among other airlines I was flown Lufthansa (Rome, CDG, FRA) and Air Berlin (Palma, Rhodes and Tenerife) besides with Condor Berlin. But never before I have recognized such a nice sounding engine-growling. I guess US Air has very new engines, huh??
i love how people always complain if their flight leaves 5 minutes late... how bout you try doing all the required stuff before you can leave the gate... that five minutes could mean someone not doing to something important.
eh, this reminds me of the huge problem we had two years ago with US Airways. i had a flight from DAY - TPA and our flight to our connection in PHL was delayed because of the weather. eventually, they cancelled the flight and we got the last three seats on the flight to CLT, then to SRQ. (it was either that, or return to DAY the next day for another flight.) i remember how crowded and big this airport was D:
first off, its US Airways you retards, not US Air. And second of all they are almost always on time and they are my favorite legacy carrier. You should fly on them before you make a comment, not say "oh well i heard US sucks" because they don't.
i've flown with USAirways a lot over the years and never had a bit of trouble with them. Maybe once a minor delay but nothing bad and always they had my luggage on the other end. I don't know why people hate on USAirways. IN fact, I have had far worse experience with Delta (and along with them Northwest before).
@GTboy96 Usair sucks. After spending 12 the first day of vacation behind schedule did you know heat causes the planes not to work, then ON A return flight another delay 6 delay. with a 3 and 7 year . I have been lied to ,by managers, theres no compassion AND MAYBE WE SHOULD BE OPENING THE SHOOTS AND THROWING OUT USA AIRWAY. EMPLOYEES . NEVER WILL I FLY US AIRLINES HOW MANY OTHERS?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe the announcements say for safety they require shades to be in the open position during takeoff and landing.
dpcoffeyjr 1 month ago
@dpcoffeyjr you are right, they do require the shades to be down to cool the aircraft and open though (your discretion) for takeoff and landing.

Despite all the bs u hear on youtube, Us Airways was one of the top 5 airlines for on time performance,... OTP last year.

Depending on it was CLT, I wouldnt be surpirsed if you were late. US Airways is a big hub here.
