They did these songs because they like those artists. Growing up in a Christian family they listened to Christian artists. Their dad actually wrote a song with Michael W. Smith in 1999. You shouldn't be baffled.

I love Michael W Smith, and i'm so proud of JB for singing with him, theres just so much to say, i'm proud of them in many ways, but one way is that they aren't afraid to say they're Christians.. when Nick said its one of his fav songs, i too almost cried.. that means alot to me, cause it proves that in the midst of all this fame and insanity their Christianity isn't something that they've left behind! I am so happy about that.

Smith and on Sunday's we would put Micheals cd on in our living room and play it(including this song) while we were getting ready for church. Im crying because my dream is to be a famous singer, and to see my childhood music and the music I listen to now coming together is such a beautiful thing that means sooo much to me. I truley believe I can accompish anything now.
