  • when i do my hot start, i prime it till the fuel flow spikes to an 8, then mixture full in, throttle out, let it crank and as soon as it starts add a little power, it was perfectly every time

  • My heart is broken..I love Cessna 206 motor sound:)

  • Very Cool Video

    Regards!

  • did you have pax or freight? just curious.

  • Depends on how long the engine has been sitting. I think something like between 20minutes to 1hr after shutdown is when the fuel lines get heat soaked the most. I dont know the exact time, in this case the time between shutdown and start was only about 5 mins. A mate of mine took the video and i put it up for the hell of it

  • yeah it is easy. Its a continental they love fuel. Basically just the same as a cold start technique except not quite as long on the fuel pump. Then start with throttle full open and pull it back slowly then when it gets to halfway the engine will start then just hold it there and it will kick on then reduce it back to idle.

  • That was an easy start. It's amazing how easy hot starting a big block Continental is IF you know the procedure. I see guys all the time who crank and crank and crank, almost running the battery flat, without ever getting more than a few pops.
