That high dollar bridge was a carry over from the Murkowsky administration. She was for a transportation "link" which is a big concern in Alaska with isolated communities. When she became Gov and saw that it was too expensive/elaborate of a bridge project and she put a stop to it. The feds had already given $ and she tried to give it back or give it to Minnesota who just had the I35 bridge collapse. They found a more affordable "link" to solve the transportation concern.

The obvious difference between Obama and Palin is that Obama, like him or not, is quite intelligent.
Palin is ultimately crippled by inherent stupidity, ignorance of history and world geopolitical knowledge.
The surge failed (though to be fair, she's only regurgitating party slogans) and asserting that Ahmadinejad is a scumbag is like pointing out that the sky is blue.
What betrays her is that when pressed, she fails utterly to exhibit informed, lateral or conclusive thinking ability.
