Hola, Ernesto...como siempre te deseo los mayores éxitos. Considero que eres el más grande bajo en la historia de Venezuela. Creo que pronto cantarás en nuestro país. Saludos. Arturo de Venezuela.
Sivericsdotter , I know you : you work as toiletten cleaner at the Highroad near Berlin - You are just a poor impolite idiot , you do not know Music , neither Knust --you are just an ignorant bastard !! Morillo is a first class Opera Singer and if you do not like him , just clean your dithy mouth before talking about him ! On the other hand you opinon can be interesting just to the barking dogs !
Hallo Ernesto, you are a nice guy, very handsome but you can -unfortunately-not sing.I give you a tipp:Buy some recordings of Cesare Siepi, and go to work in a restaurant or as swimming pool cleaner
A propos : I know Mister MORILLO is gonna sing MACBETH as BANCO in UK , on April & May 2008 - is there anyone who can record his Performance and put it on You Tube ? A friend of mine told there is a very interesting Team of young, exellent Singers ! I'd like to listen his "Come dal Ciel precipita" , even if there is not a low F# (ha -ha)-and I'd also like to listen the 3 Lady's Songs "Nel dì della Vittoria"-"La luce langue" and "Una macchia è quì tutt'ora" - Thanks a lot for helping !!!
Dear Operamanagers , i'm sorry but Ive heard Morillo singing NABUCCO on Stage , in Italy ... his voice HAS a LOT of SQUILLO ,a lot of power ....I'd say it's "enormious" !By the way : an F# is not a Gb , as a violonist or a Flut or Klarinet Player know , nevertheless it is on the Piano !
But , as you say , who the hall care ? Strings Players care ! Wind Instruments care ! .......
Really, even a student doing his harmony exercises will care, as well as singers doing ancient music and players of folk music... in fact the only person who doesn't care is operamanagers
just answering to Gallferi. A noble bass is the one that can sing completely naturally, open vowels, clear, and with a lot of squillo, and doesn't have to manufacture the bass sound. That was the case of Ghiaurov, Neri, Pinza, Plishka, and many other great basses. Not the case of Morillo.
In would love to hear "operamanagers" opinion just what is a "manufactured voice" and what is "far from being a noble bass voice" means? You guys should decide finally if the artist is a bass or a baritone or perhaps a "bass-bass-baritone" or "bass-baritone-baritone"
I think the rest of us has the right to learn, what Alexix77777771 has written in a "funny language": "Excellent, remarkable performance, simply magnificent. Nothing more to say". Vot yu tink Alex? Only yu shpeek Rooshian??? Apropos, I agree with you also.
Hey genius "expertlirico"! I assume you're talking about the low F# at the end of "Prega Maria per me!" Take off your message fast, before the opera-community learns just how "EXPERT" you are. "low G" bru-ha-ha! Apropos, I totally agree with "cvergl08".
...it actually DOES, amico mio! Since the whole Major section (Il serto a lei de' martiri) is written in F# major, (6#'s) there is no Gb there. But as our colleague "cvergl08" stated below a while ago: "who the hell cares..."
Hey Boris, you made me laugh out loud! My son looked at me, with a big question in his eyes, like "whatz-a wrong-a with you Daddy?" Apropos, if you read "operamanagers" message to me, I could only say that Pinza never sang an "open vowel" in his life! I love these "voice-experts"! Tschüss!
He is a bass baritone, not a bass. Listen to the same aria Il lacerato spirito sang by Guilio Neri, Pinza, Pasero or Christoff. Mr. Morillo has a great voice, but his voice in the medium and lower range doesn't have the weight and typical characteristics of a real bass. He also can sing open vowels in very high notes without any cover, (like in nabbucco), typical from the bass baritones. But hey! Morillo has a great voice.!! No doubt about it!
I got to agree with you never paid attention before to that. His voice is so rich and dark that it makes it hard to make the distinction, but it looks like he could tune him self a bit higher...For a voice that rich and juicy, his low F is really slim, I feel more freedom on the upper register.
great voice. To me you are a bass baritone. Was clear you lose power in that low G, but bravo! Roles from Faust, Nozze di Figaro, even Don Giovanni will be better repertoire I think. Great material.
Coño Ernestico! Quien te viera y quien te ve! Que bueno que estás triufando. Lástima que te hayas olvidado de tus orígenes y hasta de tu familia!!! Saludos desde Malavé Villalba, Guacara, Venezuela

could be f sharp, or G flat. Yes, you are right about that. But honestly doesn't make a difference.

just, let's agree that an F# and Gb is the same sound. That is what I was trying to say.

I mean.... it is a manufactured voice, and far from being a noble bass voice. Just one more bass baritone.

bass baritone 100%, closer to baritone than to bass
