I'm not big on cf hoods but that looks pretty good. What hood is that and by who? The closest I could find for it was a dspeed hood that's only sold in japan.
Sick z32 bro, What wheel setup do you have? its stock suspesion nah? looking to get some new shoes for my z, and i like the way your z32 sits.. Looks dope bro.
@Vitaliy2124 It's a 99 JSPEC bumper. You should be able to find it online like Z1motorsports or conceptzperformance which offers the full kits (grill, corner lamps, ducts, wiring harness, etc.). Both are dot com sites.
yo im 17 and want a cheap car that i can start out and eventually add performance to. i have driven lots of cars and can handle the performance. im kinda lookin at the jetta 1.8t. 180hp and good mpg. but if i could get a nice car like a 300zx tt or a 350z than i wouldnt care about the mpg. i want something with 300hp or more (not stock)
Hey, I just purchased the 1994 300zx Twin Turbo we spoke about a couple of days ago. The owner advised it is doing 13 psi. He said stock it's supposed to do 7 psi. Is this true? And is it dangerous to be doing 13 psi? I just bought the car today and I don't want to kill the engine or damage anything else. What should I do, or not do, to avoid that?
@Carlosalbertouno It's okay to run stock internals and injectors up to 15 psi. If it doesn't already have free flowing exhaust, that should be your first mod (lower the back pressure to keep from blowing a gasket, plus it improves turbo lag). If it already does, then you're set.
@specialrecipe Ok. Thanks for the info. It still has the stock exhaust; however, I do plan on putting on an aftermarket exhaust and downpipes. Any suggestions which brand and models I should consider, i.e. GReddy, HKS, & Stillen?
@Carlosalbertouno I have HKS but it's really up to you and what you want to spend. As long as you're buying quality parts, you don't have to worry about fitment and reliability.
@Carlosalbertouno I have SZ (Specialty Z) split down pipes. Check out z1motorsports, conceptzperformace, importpartspro, specialtyz for parts. They're all dot coms. You can get Z1 brand ones cheaper than other brands and they're just as good.
Wrong. What are his supporting mods for 13psi? That is the right question. Does it have ECU, intake and exhaust done? Higher heat range spark plugs? What is controlling his boost? Manual controller or electronic? 13psi is too high for a stock VG30DETT without all of those things I mentioned. If he's running 13 pounds on a stock ECU.... hes asking for trouble.
@seb17294 It is a shade under 20k. I did a lot of wrenching myself but had the tougher jobs done by a buddy who's a Nissan Master Mech. + the labor so probly about 25k total. Not bad for starting with a good base, less than 75k original miles. Almost done, just need to get side skirts and a rear valence and it's set. So another 1500 and it's ready for show, street, or track. Anything that was a problem or worn was upgraded including supporting mods (radiator, cooling, brakes, etc.).
@TheVany333 It's a ViS Invader Type 6 hood. It's got a functional vent so that turbo heat can go somewhere, about $600. I got it fromLSDmotorsports but last I checked, they no longer sell body kits/cf hoods, not sure why but sure you can find it on ebay or something.
@Asspooturk It's not true, you can buy the spark plugs and install them yourself. If you're modding you have to get the right temperature plug depending on how much boost you're running. The main thing that could go wrong is you can break a connector or clip or cross thread the plug. Like with any high performance car, you have to make sure you have right tools, parts, info, and time to do it yourself.
is that peice b/w the headlights part of the bumper or is it it's own piece? if it's an individual piece a carbon fiber one or carbon fiber paint scheme on it would make the hood look better IMO
2. My video game is a real modified 300zx Twin Turbo
3. It's functional, it lowers the center of gravity, improves balance, and reduces engine bay heat. Turbos can get toasty if you don't own any kind of turbo conveyance.
Take your pick.
BTW, I still have the oem hood so I can put it back when "I" care to.
I would expect the progenitor of the Z car species to be right hand drive. Duh, it's Japanese. Here's why it's a Fairlady. When the engineers decided to import it to the US, they had to make it left hand drive. It's still a Fairlady for the USDM. The engineers didn't think that the Fairlady name would take so they renamed it to a 240z, then 260, 280, then the 300zx. They didn't reinvent a whole new car, they gave the same car a DIFF name for a different market. What a fruitcake!
dammmmm if tht was a girl i would fuk it for sure lol, nice hot car man i love the rims, but why do the ones in da front have a red pin stripe??? nice car man :)
Thanks dood! The cool thing is it can't slap you or get offended for staring, I'm going to put more vids up with a model next time. Actually all the wheels have a red pin stripe. You can see it better if you click on the watch in high quality link on the bottom right of the vid.
I still have the oem hood so I can give either look when I get tired of the cf. I'm not sure of the actual weight difference but it's noticeable. The density of the materials can be felt through the handling. The cog over the front strut was lowered so it's even more predictable when you throw it around a corner since it's a front engine car. I'd say maybe 7lbs in favor of the cf. Moves it even closer to a 50/50 weight ratio. Plus it's got a vent to help with reducing engine bay heat.
The rims are staggered Rotas, 18 x 8.5 fronts and 18 x 9.5 rears. I built a car as close to my real one in Forza2. I hope they include Rota wheels in Forza3.
Thanks man. I'll be adding side skirts and a rear valence soon. Probably CWest or Stillen or a combination. It's got a lot of go, now I'm working on the show.
