For Doug and Carrie to be supposed ordinary Joes they surely do seem to always have a lot of money to spend on stuff. That's what I like about Roseanne. They better depicted the financial reality of blue collar working Americans (for the most part). Doug and Carrie has had to spend money on things for the house that were pretty pricey like getting rid of the bed bugs and mold and yet they still have money to go on lavish trips and buy ridiculous things like braces for Arthur a 75+ yr old man.
